What do you mean learning from your Anxiety? All I know is that I want it gone. I know, we don't want anything to do with anxiety. We just want it gone. But we can learn so much from our anxiety. And learning from it is one way to help us eliminate it. It also helps us to learn to be with it and not fear it. Journaling while going through your road to recovery is something I always recommend. The short answer is...Exercise does not cause anxiety. Exercise will raise your heartbeat, which is normal. High-functioning anxiety is a term that has become increasingly popular in recent years. Although it is not an official diagnosis, it is often used to describe people who experience anxiety but are still able to function in their everyday lives. People with high functioning anxiety tend to be high achieves, often overachievers, who are constantly striving for perfection or sometimes just trying to stay busy. They may appear to have it all together on the outside, but underneath, they are often experiencing anxiety and often stay busy to not allow the mind to think about the worries and anxious thoughts. Change can be scary. We sometimes fear changes in our life, no matter what kind of change it is. Good change and bad change. As you all know, I just moved to Houston, Tx. This is a big change for me. I moved all our belongings; I even moved my private practice and my tea company. This was a big, bold move. The first time I had a panic attack, it involved moving to San Antonio to attend college at 18. This big change created anxiety. Every time I've had a panic attack, I know that big changes in my life cause it. I know this, but I have overcome this. But I'm also human, and I still prepare for big changes. When was the last time you told yourself you loved yourself? If the answer is never or a very low number, then listen to this podcast. I talk about why it's important to tell yourself you love yourself, and why you should say it often. In most Hispanic families, like mine, we don't really even say I love you to each other. We know our parents love us, but they don't say it often. Break that cycle, call your loved ones, and tell them you love them. It's important to tell them and you, "I LOVE YOU." So look yourself in the mirror and say, "I LOVE YOU, I TRULY LOVE YOU." Keep doing it often and watch the power of this exercise.
