We’re fortunate this week to have a friend of the pod carve out some of his time and jump on the mics. Taylor Kinney is here on Chasin’ Birdies. This one has us excited purely because we always love the opportunity to hang with TK, whether on or off the golf course. We open up the episode with our standard ten-minute banter before we get into the interview. The interview opens up with us talking about the early days and TK attending WVU in Morgantown, WV. We get into his travels and how he went from living in Hawaii to landing modeling/acting gigs. After some more life talk, we discuss how he came to be ‘that’ guy on Chicago Fire. Spoiler alert - a fire in Chicago near the set had everyone scrambling, thinking the cast were actual firefighters. The story is told from TK’s perspective. We get into a lot of questions surrounding filming and how the show operates behind the scenes. After more bantering, we turn the talk over to golf. We get into his early days of golf and how the game clawed its way back into his life not too long ago. We discuss traveling to play golf and how, without golf, we’d have never connected. The point being - we’re golf addicts. If you’re a golf addict, you can relate. We finally turn the episode over to our tap-in segment, where TK is asked questions that demand his quick response…although some answers aren’t quick. Tune in, share, and hear from an overall great guy hangin’ with us two for a good hour or so. Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies . This episode highlights an individual who not only chases birdies on the course but also chases birdies in life. Chris Knott, the founder of Peter Millar and current Chief Merchandising Officer at Johnny-O, joins us on this week’s episode to share his journey. From a small-town upbringing to becoming a prominent figure in the golf apparel industry, Knotty explains how he got started in the clothing business, slingin’ sweaters from a rural NC town. We get into discussions about how the shift happened from men’s luxury apparel to golf, driven by opportunities at the PGA show. We talk about social media influencers and how they’re helping build brand awareness among brands on the reg. The fun talk picks up where we switch over to his current CMO role at Johnnie-O. We touch on the brand’s expansion and introduction of innovative products that weren’t released in the past. We turn the show over and chat golf and unfortunately, Pepe’s camera and mic overheat (fail!) so we lost him. Bash and Knotty finish out the show with an impromptu tap-in segment to finish the show. Tune in, share, and hear from a great business-minded leader who cares about what we wear! Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies . Our episode this week involves one of Nashville’s most sought-after songwriters, Ray Fulcher. We’ve gotten to know Ray well over the last few years, and it’s no secret that outside of work and hunting, he can’t kick the golf bug. Cool story alert - we get into the beginning when he decided to move to Nashville. It was within that first week or so that he met another guy, and they both started hanging out and writing together. Ray tells the story and reveals that the guy he met early on was Luke Combs. The journey for him started there, and he started creating his craft by writing songs that ended up being cut by some major artists. We hear about what it’s like working in the music business and how the song process starts to take shape. If you’re an avid listener of the show, this isn’t your first time hearing from a songwriter. We turn the talk over to some small banter and life talk. Naturally, we gravitate into golf and ‘pay day’ Ray lets us in on his love for golf. This episode was recorded at Old Hickory in Nashville, TN. Sitting around a table, having a few beers, this episode will keep your attention. We turn the episode over to our tap-in segment, where Ray is asked four questions that demand his quick response. Tune in, share, and enjoy. It’s not too often you get to hear from a guy like Ray. If you’re an avid listener of the show, you know how we roll. Some weeks we have a guest, others it’s just a talk. That’s this week. We get into a wide variety of topics, including the ridiculous nature of a Halloween weekend with kids and a Halloween party that resulted in a fire. We cover our bases (no pun) on the recent MLB World Series and get into some general sports talk. After all, we are a ‘golf’ podcast, right? Speaking of golf, what is going on with golf? NOTHING! We tap into some fall golf discussion and touch on LIV golf opening a new qualifier up to the tour. Pepe gets challenged to No-Shave November. Will he do it? This episode is just us being us. Love it or hate it, it’s all we got. Next up..Ray Fulcher. Stay tuned for that drop. Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies . In this episode of Chasin’ Birdies , we sit down with Dick Lebeau to talk about golf and football and of course, his illustrious career. The episode opens up with our banter for the first 10 minutes, and then we turn it over to our interview with coach. We reflect on his experiences as a coach and player and discuss the evolution of football as we know it today. Coach opens up and talks about his memories on the field. We shift into the creation of the “Zone Blitz” and how that started...on a napkin. We turn the episode over to some golf talk. Coach fondly remembers his experiences with Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. We get into how he fell in love with golf and discuss similarities between football and golf. On a daily basis, he’d rather be chasin’ birdies. The episode shifts over to some good stories, and one he tells about the Super Bowl. Peep our instagram for the video. We conclude the episode with Coach expressing gratitude towards the career he’s had and the joy he finds in playing golf with his family. We end with our standard tap-in segment, where we ask Coach some questions that demand his quick response. Tune in, share, and listen to one of the greatest coaches to ever do it. This episode of Chasin’ Birdies is a special one. We were a part of the WVU Medicine Children’s Inaugural Golf Tournament at Nemacolin Resort and we hosted a live podcast for the guests of the event. Tyler Reeve joined us on this episode to share his story with us and tie in some golf talk. We cover a lot of topics in this episode, but hearing again how certain songs are created and the inspiration behind them never gets old. Tyler wrote Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know,” which has over a billion streams. A text message to Eric Church led to the collaboration with Luke Combs on the hit “Does to me”. These stories and more are intertwined throughout this interview. If he’s not sitting on the porch at Old Hickory in Nashville jammin’ with John Daly and friends (porch talk, as he calls it), Tyler can be found on the golf course chasin’ birdies and placing friendly wagers between the group. We tie in golf talk and hear about his recent round breaking 70. Tune in now, share, and let us know your thoughts. This episode is not only entertaining but very interesting from the perspective of a top songwriter in the 615. Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies . We have a lot to catch up on. Since our last drop, a lot has happened in the golf world. Most importantly, the Ryder Cup just concluded, and it didn’t go our way. We recap the Ryder Cup and offer our two cents—not that it matters, but we do it anyway. What is the envelope rule, and why is it applied? The matches were a lot closer than anyone may have thought when it came down to the finishing holes on Sunday. Did this ½ point matter? We lend our thoughts and are curious how this will play out in the future. We cover some time we had with our friends at Playin’ Through over at Nemacolin. And lastly, the iconic Ashworth Brothers 2-man took place in Oregon at Pronghorn, where one of us finished in second. We recap all this good stuff in this fun-filled banter of an episode. Corey Crowder has written hits for Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young, and several other country artists. On any given day, you can find him behind his mixing board in his home studio, droppin’ some beats, crafting some melodies, and dreamin’ of a fairway. As a Grammy-nominated producer, we get a look into his early career and living in bustling Nashville. We hear about his close ties to Florida Georgia Line and watching that beast grow. Corey explains the genres he’s into and the different way country artists express themselves now with collaborations of other genres. We get into his typical work routine and the family balance that takes place while now living in Georgia. We round out the show with some golf talk. We hear the highs and lows that we all face and recap some good memories on the course. This episode is light-hearted, funny, and extremely interesting. We round out the show with our standard Tap-In segment, where we ask Corey four questions that demand his quick response. Tune in, share, and let us know what you think! Crossed up, hand check, ball in the hole. Chandler Parsons is here on this week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. Let me tell you...The guy is cooler than your momma’s sweet tea on an August afternoon. As expected, this episode is full of twists and turns and highly entertaining. We banter for 7-8 minutes before we turn the episode over to Chandler. We get into some golf talk right out the gate and hear about the Member-Guest experience at Gozzer Ranch. We all know the taxing nature of a member-guest tournament…and unfortunately, it’s more about stamina than it is golf. We ask the big question: Should a touring pro be allowed in a member-guest tournament? We turn the episode over to some court talk and get into the current state of the NBA. Chandler highlights some of his time in the NBA and what the game is like today compared to then. We flip it back over to round out some more golf talk and hear his perspective on playing the game and what matters most. Lots of good topics exist in this episode… so you’ll just have to tune in. We round out the episode with our tap-in segment, where we ask Chandler questions that demand his response. Tune in now...and share if you care. Here we are—the last major championship of the year, “The Open” championship as we know it. Today on Chasin’ Birdies, it’s the open mic drop as we get into golf talk, the final major of the year, and hear from a legend in Rocco Mediate as he drops by the show to share a few of his thoughts. We banter for the first few minutes in typical fashion. We turn our focus over to Royal Portrush (which we both played in 2022) and discuss our betting picks. Can McIlroy get it done in Northern Ireland? Is it going to be another US Open where the underdog prevails? We dive into all this and more. When Rocco joins, we get into the talk between the players and the media. He tells us his thoughts often comparing what Mr. Palmer would do. We circle back to the AWFUL ruling Sam Burns got at the US Open, and who he thinks can take it down in Northern Ireland. Tune in, share, and leave us your thoughts! In this episode of Chasin’ Birdies , we’re guest-free this week, and we’re here for it. We get a lot of love for our “banter” sessions, so it’s only right to do this one on a holiday weekend. We get into a broad range of topics in this episode. We say our Happy Birthdays to America and get right into some golf talk. What makes a good Member-Guest partner? Is the course or the partner more important in deciding whether or not you’re in? We dive into what makes a good plate a ‘good’ plate on the 4th of July. We turn into some golf talk and catch up with the PGA Tour. We recap the last tournament in Detroit and look ahead to the last major of the year. We debate the new tour schedule and question whether or not the new format is a yay or nay. After some more banter between the two of us, we sign off and wish everyone well. If you’re a new listener, this episode will give you a great inside look at the synergy that exists between us two hosts. If you’re an avid listener, this one will make ya chuckle. Entrepreneurs know best that ditching the blueprint and figuring out what works and what doesn’t can be a more rewarding path. From failures to home runs, overcoming adversity and believing in the vision takes you to greater heights. That’s what happened to our guest today. Gabby Gonzalez is here on Chasin’ Birdies to give us the dish on her rise to fame within the social media world and her marketing agency. After our 10-minute banter about the US Open, we welcome Gabby on the show and get into her story immediately. As a dropout at the University of Florida, she knew she had the vision to be successful. Using her height...yes, and brain, she put the two together and has been recognized as a top influencer in today’s social world. On top of that, she launched a marketing agency that helps businesses build brand presence, all of which she talks about. Fast forward now after her volleyball days, Gabby is focused on the smooth approach around the greens and growing the game of golf. With her collaboration with LIV Golf and 4Aces, she’s now on the map and making an impact. We get into some golf tales and chop it up a bit about all things life and what the world looks like for her. We wrap up the show with our standard Tap-In segment before ending with another 5-minute banter. Tune in, share, like, or even love. This is one that will keep your ears peeled. Our guest today brings some heat to the table when he opens up and tells some tales from the tour…and more. We get to hang out for a bit with our guy, Will Davidson, and hear about this caddie life on Tour for some big-name players, including Lexi Thompson. We open up with our quick banter for about five minutes before we roll it into Will. He shares his extensive experiences as a caddy on the PGA and LPGA Tours. He discusses the essential role of a caddy in supporting players mentally and strategically, recounts memorable stories from his time on tour, and reflects on the dynamics between caddies and players. Will also touches on the impact of COVID-19 on the caddy profession and the importance of maintaining relationships within the golf community. In this engaging conversation, Will Davidson shares his journey as a caddy in the world of professional golf, detailing his experiences with notable players like Lexi Thompson and the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. He discusses the differences between LPGA and PGA Tour players, the emotional moments at significant tournaments, and memorable encounters with golf legends. The conversation also touches on the nuances of caddying, the pressures of tour life, and the importance of consistency in a golfer's game. A few highlights from the show is Will telling the Phil Mickelson story from 2018 while caddying for Beef Johnson, his quick trip to South America to loop it for a player in need, and his run-in with Tiger Woods at Quail Hollow. In typical fashion…we open up the show with our seven minutes of banter..recapping the PGA, some bets, and of course our dry humor. We turn the show over to our guest, Billy Draddy, and get right into things with him. We discuss the emotional roller coaster that exists in pro sports, specifically golf, and other topics. The famous Pocket Polo is a hot shirt by B. Draddy. We hear the story of this polo and how it came to be after inspiration from another brand. One thing about Billy, he’s cooler than Freddie Couples in the final pairing. We hear about his family’s legacy in the clothing business and how he got his start doing what he does best. Billy also owns other apparel companies that specialize in golf being Zero Restriction, Fairway & Greene, as well as a women’s line. We touch on the evolution of golf fashion and where he sees things going in the next decade. This show gets into some recap of a recent golf excursion in GA and SC. If you’ve been to the Tree (“Peachtree”), you already know how special it is. If you’ve been lucky enough to stay and play at Sage Valley, you will enjoy the commentary in this episode. We got into the recent travel golf we’ve both been lucky enough to play. A phenomenal host and a phenomenal group of dudes make any golf trip special. After some tension arose Friday night between the two of us, we licked our wounds and moved on. For Pepe, he couldn’t help but bring this up at the beginning of the show. We recap the Peachtree Golf Club in Atlanta and shed some light on that day, as well as how the course is playing. What holes are beautiful and what holes are your nemesis creates some valid discussions. We mosey on over to Sage Valley, where it feels like you’re arriving at a 5-star resort, but you realize you’re at a private golf club with no cost to spare. Get a glimpse of our last week just by listening to this episode…it’s that easy. And find some friends who aren’t scared to travel and play some golf. The memories are worth it, we promise. We’re back this week with a fresh one, and Jake Stoutland delivers an outstanding guest appearance as he joins us to get into some golf talk and such. The episode begins after our ~10-minute opening with the two of us, and then we roll it into Jake. We open up the discussions with Jake giving us a look at his background. As an avid golfer, he wasn’t necessarily in the golf space until one day he realized he had a knack for knowing stories that pertained to golf. Because of this, his storytelling social media handle was born. The conversation explores various themes, including the importance of community in golf, storytelling, and unique experiences offered by elite clubs. We highlight the golf in the Northeast and Long Island area. It’s true that a golf experience at a club is more important than the score you shoot, agree? We hear a sick story about the creation of Sand Hills Golf Club in Nebraska that few may know. We turn the page and get into some Masters talk and what it was like seeing Rory win the Green Jacket. We chat about the future of golf and the direction it's headed. At the end, we finish with our standard tap-in segment where we ask Jake questions that demand his quick response. Golf carts don’t really don’t cut it for Daniel. Too slow, and not enough torque. But, the man knows how to get it around the track on weekends. Daniel Dye is here this week to chop it up a bit about his early career in racing and his low-key love for golf. We get into some fast talk out the gate while hearing the story of his dad owning Roberto Clemente’s car that he drove to the airport before the plane crash. The car gets uncovered every 21st of the month, and it’s clear that cars and racing is in his DNA. He fills us in on life on the track and what a race means to him. We get a look inside the weekend and how the operations run when it's race time…like a 14-second four-tire change and refuel. We talk about road rage and what that means to him on a normal road. We turn the episode over to some golf talk and hear why he flies himself to Pinehurst on the reg. Different type of episode on Chasin’ Birdies today but it’s a great one. We think people who aren’t into golf don’t necessarily understand the grueling nature of a Member-Guest tournament. To make the shoot out is one goal, but to win it all ties in luck and straight puke-driven guts. That’s what happened to Mr. Pepe and Mr. Katzeff in the recent Pelican Golf Club Member-Guest. We open up and give Pep a big congrats and hear the story from him. We revisit the recent Pine Needles Invitational that took place a few weeks ago with none of us making the cut..again. To twist it up a bit, we phone a friend and request Brandon Katzeff join in to tell his side of the story since he won the Member-Guest after 6 months of joining the club. What does that look like from a club perspective? We touch on the PGA Tour and the first ‘non’ major of the year kicking off this weekend: The Players. Who you got? We round out the episode with some more banter and fun talks. Tune in, share, listen, and chase spring (and golf) with us. It’s just about that time. If you haven’t seen Sonny do his work on social media, you’re missing out. We sat down with Mike “Sonny” Kollet to chop it up a bit about his social media presence, golf topics, and banter about other odds n’ ends. Tune in and give this one a listen! It’s worth your time. fter a quick 7 minute intro with just us, we get to the heart of this episode by introducing Sonny as our guest on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. We open up the episode and dive into how he got started making the hilarious videos (Officiallysonny, IG) that have caught fire as of late. After getting burnt out by the golf industry, Sonny turns his attention to creating content full time. We get into some golf talk and chat about the ongoing battle between the PGA Tour and LIV. We continue down this path and end on a good subject: Night golf. With humor thrown in, we get into the game today and how it’s being taught to the youth golfers with an emphasis on speed. We talk about the content Sonny creates and how it’s 100% relatable to all golfers and the humor aspect that it brings. We turn the episode over to our standard tap-in segment where we ask Sonny 4 questions that demand his response. This episode is entertaining, relevant, and will keep you interested. Alex Fourie joins us on this week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies . You may have read about Alex in Golf Digest or have seen his story on Golf Channel. Today, we get a closer look at his story and his love for golf. We open up the episode and dive into his early life. After being introduced to golf at a young age, he realized the passion he had could not be stopped by anything, not even one arm. Alex continues to defy the odds in the game and has now been hired as the Head Pro at the 500-Club in North Carolina. Currently sitting as the #2 one-arm golfer in the country, it’s no surprise for him to fire rounds in the 60s. He plays competitively in the adaptive open led by the USGA and aims to eventually play in a PGA Tour event. We talk about the direction golf is headed and how it impacts people from all walks of life. This humbling, uplifting episode will leave you motivated to play more and appreciate more. We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment where Alex is asked a few questions that demand his response. Tune in, share, and listen to someone who plays golf a little differently than you. We love having guests on the show who stay chasin’ when it comes to their dreams. This is exactly our guest today as we sit down with Nathalie Sheehan and hear her story from growing up on the ice to now becoming one of golf’s premier instructors in 2025. We open up the episode and get right into the PGA Show which kicks off next week. Unfortunately, we can’t make it, but maybe we’ll set some time aside for 2026. She gives us a look inside her journey with golf and getting where she is today. We touch on the technology aspect of golf and how that helps in teaching. It’s apparent that her passion for teaching doesn’t stop with adults, but kids, too. We get into some tournament talk and what the nerves feel like in that round compared to a normal round with your friends. We chatted a bit about the short game and how it’s imperative for lowering your score, even if you’re a weekend golfer. We discuss managing emotions on the course and why visualization is key. We round out the episode with a cool caddy story from Augusta and her role with the golf channel. Any future broadcasting gigs??? We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment where we ask her four questions that demand her quick response..although one response wasn’t so quick. Tune in, share, and listen to a rising star! This week’s episode is just a start to the New Year. We have a lot of good talk revolving around golf and the holiday season. We debate when is too early in the year to take a golf trip or when is it too late? We just got back from a quick trip to the Sunshine State where we pegged it up for 3 days and got into some talks around that. This light hearted banter episode brings us back to the roots of this show and its fitting for the first drop of the year. We dive into the state of the PGA Tour and other talks surrounding golf and sports in general. We finish this off with a Birdie Count challenge that runs the full year. Can you keep track of yours? We’re ending the year on a bang. And we can’t thank you enough for the support we’ve had this year. Now, looking ahead to 2025, we can’t wait to keep bringing some good episodes. But for now, we’re joined by two long-lost friends. For context, Sez works for FootJoy, and Sully (Ryan Sullivan) plays at the Pro level and is a Monday Q junkie. We felt it was good to have the boys on and join us on what would typically be our ‘banter’ session. But today, it’s four ball (or 8). We break open the episode and get right into it with some background on what these two do. Sully can’t keep himself off the golf course, and Sez is just looking for another Member-Guest to get in on. We hear some stories about the two of them and their golfing addiction, which naturally pairs well with us! Sully tells us a story of his time playing with Donald Trump. It’s a funny story and warrants a listen...other than the fact he lost the autographed scorecard from DJT himself. Sez breaks open with a story of caddying for Michael Jordan. We chop it up a bit and really have no purpose for this episode other than for a good time and some good laughs. We hope you tune in, listen, share, or whatever your heart desires. We look forward to bringing you some more episodes in 2025! Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies . We’re back this week on Chasin’ Birdies with a fresh one. Patty Maroon sits down with us as we dive into a wide variety of topics. Opening up the episode, after our 7-minute banter intro, we get into some golf talk out the gate, with Mr. Maroon sportin’ a nice Pine Valley cap. The conversation bleeds into the NHL world, and we hear some stories of his time in St. Louis, Tampa, and now Chicago. With his down-to-earth personality, it’s fun to hear stories about the Stanley Cup and his quest for a 4th cup in a row..wtf. Pelican Golf Club in Tampa is a spot we’re lucky to play. We tell some stories about times at Pelican and hear about the experience Patty had playing Augusta AND Pine Valley in the same year…the Brad Faxon story is epic. Bet that doesn’t happen too often. We turn over the episode to round out some more banter and small talk about pretty much anything. We touch on the rowdy fight in Scottsdale with Biz Nasty and what the hell that was all about. We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment, where we ask Patty 5 questions that demand his quick response. Tune in, share, like, or dislike. The choice is yours, but we think you’ll like this one. Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies . We’re stoked to have Charles on the podcast this week, and we waste no time jumping into some good stories. After a 7-minute opening from Pepe and Bash, the episode opens up with a memory rehash of a time at Oakmont CC. Charles lends his thoughts on playing at Oakmont and we relive a night there two years ago with George Birge. We jump over to some Augusta talk, and ironically, it’s where Charles grew up. He gives us a glimpse into what growing up next to Augusta National was like, especially with the range balls. We switch it up a bit and get into the story of how Charles made it to Nashville. With the band in place, the story of Lady A takes shape, and the rest is history. He refers to this as ‘rare and random’. We chat about Lady A and the path the band has been on, ups and downs. He also hints at a potential ‘solo’ album he’s working on. We sprint ahead in this episode and get into some personal talks about his past and the roads he traveled. The episode continues on this path, and we hear about his life and health now and how decisions he’s made have affected him in a positive way. We round out the episode with more golf talk. If you’re a golf enthusiast, this golf talk will make too much sense. The episode ends with our standard tap-in segment presented by Bettinardi Golf where we ask Charles four questions that demand his quick response. Tune in, share, like, or love…it’s up to you! We hear it’s healthy to laugh. Have you? With Taylor Tijerina on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies , you’re guaranteed to have a few laughs while giving yourself a dose of a health benefit. We open up the episode and get a look into what propelled Taylor on his path to becoming one of social media’s comedian influencers. We hear about his time around COVID when golf was taking off, and work was on the back shelf. He made good use of time and started reeling off videos on TikTok to help build his brand. We turn the episode over and chat about his influences on making videos and the role his wife plays in helping him deliver quality content. With a rolodex of content in his phone, it’s clear that this part-time ‘gig’ is going full steam ahead. We merge this into some golf talk and get into some stories of golf and trips with the homies. We round out the episode with our standard tap-in segment where we ask Taylor four questions that demand his quick response. This week’s episode we switch it up from the fairway to the treestand and hang out with our buddy Greg Camp from HALO Waterfowl. This is the second real ‘outdoorsman’ we’ve had on Chasin’ Birdies and we get into a lot of good topics surrounding hunting and a bit of golf. We open up the episode and get into what’s been going on with Greg this year and his start of HALO Waterfowl. We hear the whole story and tie it in with a subtle shoutout to his business partner, Riley Green. We talk about wild game, and hunts Greg has been on, including some gnarly ones in Colorado. We dissect the best game meat to eat and how to cook it up. Greg has a knack for making things seem too easy with respect to hunting. We talk about hunt trips and how they compare to golf trips. We believe there is a similar parallel between being on the course and being in the woods. We round out the interview with some golf talk and finish with our standard tap-in segment where Greg is asked 4 questions that demand his quick response. Before we start with our Fall star-studded lineup of guests, we’re starting off with a fresh banter sesh with us two yuckin’ it up. We open up the episode and dive right into college football and football talk, period. We turn the page over and talk about the recent WVU golf tournament we were a part of..for a day. We heckled some of the players and made them feel extra comfortable hitting a t-shot 180 with water left. We flipped the script and headed to Nashville where we played in the Blue Otter golf event. We chat a bit about the tournament and some of the boys playing..as well as an impromptu call to Donald Trump via John Daly. We get into some good stories on and off the course. We dabble into some golf talk and give a big shoutout to a friend of the pod, Rocco Mediate on his recent win. We highlight a potential hunting trip and sign off in professional fashion. Thank you for tuning in this week. We hope you enjoyed this one. Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies . We’re full swing into football season (see what we did there?), and on this week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies , we have a guy who can snap a football better than you, but can he beat you on the course? Christian Kuntz (Pittsburgh Steelers) joins us to talk about all things life and his path to success in the NFL. We feel long snappers are underappreciated in this game so we’re here to let people know that we need LONG SNAPPERS, especially if our fantasy team has a good kicker. We open up the episode and get a good background look in the early part of his career. Growing up in Pittsburgh it was always a dream to play for the home team, and going undrafted landed him a spot to prove his worth with the Steelers. Christian tells us stories about his college days and how it felt to be picked up in the NFL. We hear some softer stories, though, especially one from his wedding night and his first occasion on the golf course. Speaking of golf, the guy can’t kick the habit. We hear how he was introduced to golf and why it was pretty painful at first. We get into the thick of things with discussions of his golf game now and where he wants to be next off-season. We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment presented by Bettinardi Golf, where we ask Christian four questions that demand his quick response. We’re back this week with an episode that comes with some recognition. The 19th Society (Andrew Saab) joins us this week on Chasin’ Birdies to talk about his rise to Instagram celeb status by creating some of the best memes out there. At the very least, this episode will keep you laughing. We cover a wide array of topics on this episode. We open up with getting a look at what Andrew does to keep the 19th Society handle relevant. He tells us how he draws inspiration from movies and ties those into the golf world. We chatted some PGA Tour / LIV Golf talk as well as discussions surrounding the future of Tiger Woods. We hear from Andrew and his attempt to play golf left handed from a natural born righty. Here how this one shakes out. Overall, nothing too serious in this episode but one that will make you laugh..if you’re into laughing. Tune in now, share, and follow 19thSociety on Instagram! We’re back this week with another fresh episode. Despite both of us being ‘away from our desks,’ we still managed to get the intro and outro done at less-than-ideal conditions. We open up the episode with some talk of when Tanev played for the Pittsburgh Penguins. We catch up a bit and chat about some stories surrounding golf here in PA. We get a look into the mood when Brandon was dealt to Seattle when the NHL expanded. He tells us what it was like playing for a city with its first NHL team. We turn the episode over and chat about what’s going on in today’s world. The NHL offseason can be short, so hanging out with family and relaxing in Canada seems to be the right move for Brandon. We get into some Canada talk and bring up a story from Pepe’s bachelor party in Toronto and what happened on that day in Lake Ontario. We catch up on some golf experiences he’s had, specifically in the pacific northwest as well as a round at Chamber’s Bay. We take a look into the upcoming NHL season and what that prep is like. We round out the episode with our standard tap-in segment, where we ask four questions that demand his quick response. Tune in now to this week’s episode, and let us know what you think! Gentry Humphrey comes on today’s show with a deep look into his career in the fashion world. Shoes are an integral part of a golfer's wardrobe, and Gentry has that touch to make what you wear look good. We open up and get a look into the background of Gentry and how he entered the fashion world. We hear early stories of him working for Nike and how that catapulted him into a meeting with Phil Knight to launch the Jordan brand. We hear a bold story about the first time Gentry was scheduled to meet Michael Jordan and other stories about his beginning. We turn the episode over and hear about his own shoe line, Code by Gentry. If you haven’t seen them..check them out..buy a pair and your feet will thank you. It’s clear in this interview Gentry doesn’t cut corners and his committed to the idea of bettering a product with each release. We wind down the episode with some banter about golf and stories he’s had with players. He tells a story of the Jordan shoe that came out this year for the US Open which most people wouldn’t know. It’s hard to win a PGA Tour event, let alone a major championship. For Bryson DeChambeau, this sometimes looks too easy. We get a good look into the relationship between BDC and his caddie, Greg Bodine, on this week’s episode. Greg sits down with us and gives us a look into the caddie/player relationship during this year's U.S. Open. We open up the episode and dive right into U.S. Open talk. After a quick detour in the air, Greg gives us the lay of the land for the prep work done leading up to round 1. With the excitement building on the final round, we talk strategy and hear whether or not Bryson thought of hitting three wood instead of driver at any point during the round. Greg sheds some light on the driver head he was using and how this was a decision made fifteen minutes before the first tee. We get a glimpse into the putting approach Bryson uses. Greg tells us there was a learning curve involved, but he was able to catch up when he was called to caddie for Bryson. We get into some talk about playing on the LIV tour and how fans now around all of golf are embracing Bryson. You just have to listen to hear for yourself. We turn the episode over and end on our standard tap-in segment, where we ask Greg four questions that demand his quick response. We’re back this week on Chasin’ Birdies with an atypical approach to our episode. We have a guest joining us in our banter while we discuss all things golf. Vincent Trocheck (NY Rangers) sits down with us and breaks down the U.S. Open as well as other topics trending in golf. We dive into Bryson’s epic win at Pinehurst No.2 and recap the battle between him and Rory. Not that our thoughts matter, but we are fans of Bryson. We talk about his role on and off the course and how he can be the leader to mend the divide in golf. We get into Troch’s quick trip to Fisher’s Island and discuss the course as well as other trendy clubs in NY. We hear about his Member-Guest tournament coming up, which is at Winged Foot…not a big deal. We turn the episode over to some other banter and talk about some current golf topics, like highlighting the Allegheny Member-Guest, Pepe’s injury, and Neal Shipley turning pro. This banter is exactly that…a banter. Tune in, share, like, dislike, but as always, we appreciate the listen. Key Links: Visit redvanly.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies. June golf is underway. Summer is here and pools are full of kids. Most of us will be golfing, and some of us are on a hiatus from golf until late summer. One of us…being Pepe. We open up the episode and hear about the broken fibula that took place during a heated game of whiffle ball….yes, that’s correct. Pepe gives us a look into his injury and how he’s trying to cope with not being on the course. From the sounds of things, he’s feeling pretty optimistic. We turn the talk over to golf and dissect this past week’s Memorial Tournament where Scottie Scheffler, um, won again. Surprising? No. We love seeing him win…but is golf becoming too predictable? Hopping over to the LIV Tour we chat about their recent run in Houston and the outcome of that event. Our attention turns to the U.S Open which kicks off today at Pinehurst No.2. Who we pick, can you load up on Scottie, will Tiger make the cut, and the havoc this course can create are all discussed. Also, we take a look at the BMW PRO-AM that just took place and three pasts guests on Chasin’ Birdies were in the field. How did they fare? We don’t know, either. We end the episode with some banter and decide we’ll be back next week for a new episode (with a guest). Tune in, share, and enjoy the Father’s Day Weekend…or the U.S Open..your pick. We all know how today’s world operates with respect to the youth. More pressure on social media, more pressure to perform, and more pressure on themselves to be better athletes. How do we, as adults, steer these children on the right track? Travis Snider, former MLB, joins us to discuss the movement he’s behind with 3A Athletics. Having a past of his own has allowed him to understand what the right way to go about youth development is all about. We open up the episode and get into his background and playing career. We talk a bit about his professional career and how he shifted mentally after he retired. We dive into his development and mentoring for the youth. We get into the beginning stages of 3A Athletics and what the purpose of this organization is. We turn over to some golf talk and hear about his passion and love for golf, even after he injured himself on the course. Banter sessions are a part of our DNA. We’re back this week with another one of just us two yuckin’ it up. We open up and discuss the recent quick trip up to State College, PA to see our boy Mitchell Tenpenny. To sum it up, we ended up in a 5 v 5 basketball game with Pepe leaving with a bone bruise to the knee. For some reason, this is actually funny. We turn the episode over and dive into some recent golf talk. We’re headed to Crooked Stick in Indy then rounding out the trip with Troubadour and Old Hickory in Nashville. The episode turns over to some golf talk. We get into some recent rounds we played and talk a little about course management. We hit on the Pete Dye Member Guest and discussed our return after a year off. The Sunnehanna 4 Ball event is a top notch amateur event, which will include us two in the field this year. We round out the episode with some typical banter from the two of us to keep it fresh. Tune in to this lighthearted interview and get yourself a few free laughs. As always, thanks for listening! This week on Chasin’ Birdies, we aren’t taking any X- Outs. Instead, we’re sitting in with two college quarterbacks to hear from them about life, sports, and the pursuit of birdies. We open up the episode and dive into the background of both Garrett and Nicco. We talk about upbringing and why they both chose WV for their football careers. After talking about some games and the 2023 season, we jump over to some golf talk to tie it all together. Every episode on Chasin’ Birdies serves a different purpose. The one constant, though, remains the same and that’s our love for the game and pursuit of the chase. Today’s episode is no different. Lee Trevino sits down with us and gives us a look inside his career and golf as a whole from his vantage point. The episode opens up with us having light banter with Lee. He gives us a glimpse of his early life before golf was even a thought. He tells the story of caddying and being around golf, but it wasn’t until after the Marines that he felt he had the game to compete professionally. Lee takes us on a ride with a story about his first tournament, which he won. A 6x major champion, Lee tells us about his 1971 season, where he won the US Open, Canadian Open, and The Open Championship consecutively. He shares some insight early on with swing mechanics and how technology wasn’t available at the time to dissect the game like it is today. We get into some stories about playing in the Ryder Cup with Arnold Palmer as the Captain. Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead and Mo Norman stories, too. Sitting with a legend and hearing these stories don’t happen often. At the end of the day, we’re all still chasin’. We round out the episode with Lee telling us about his daily routine at home and his new clothing venture with his son, Daniel. Although he doesn’t play much golf, he still hangs at the course every day. We finish up with our standard Tap-In Segment, where Lee is asked 4 questions that demand his response. The Connected Golfer..that can mean so many things when it comes to golf. Leo Herrera is just that dude, and he joins us today on Chasin’ Birdies to cover a lot of golf talk…and staying connected. If you have social media, you may have seen Leo’s reels from time to time. If you haven’t, make sure you check him out. We open up the episode and talk with Leo about his pursuit of golf and his little range session with Viktor Hovland. Leo considers himself an exhibition golfer who tries to grow the game at a high level through content and teaching. He explains his idea behind The Connected Golfer, and it all starts to make sense. Leo talks about his win at the USGA Four-Ball at Chambers Bay in 2021, which was a wild story to hear. We chat about the development of golfers early on and whether or not someone just ‘has it’ in their ability to win events. Putter talk ensues..and it can’t be overlooked that the mallet putter is gaining popularity. We pose the Golfer’s Dilemma to Leo and get his thoughts on whether a caddie’s performance on the course affects the tip at the end of the round. We round out the episode with our standard Tap-In Segment, where we ask 4 questions that demand his quick response. We cover a lot in this episode and a lot of good stuff. We love a good banter sesh. This week, that’s what we have. No guest on Chasin’ Birdies this week, but we do a good job filling the void. We open up the show and touch on our tournament play at the Pine Needles Invitational. We talk about the misfortunes all golfers have on the golf course and a quick impromptu round at The Cradle. We turn it over to the Anthony Kim / LIV talk. Is this going to be a good move for LIV or a big loss for the PGA Tour? We debate this and chop it up for a bit before we turn it over to this week’s PGA event, The Players. We do a good job jabbin’ some humor at one another, and this episode is full of that. If you need a smile or a break from reality, tune in to this week’s episode and get to know your hosts a little more. As always, we appreciate the love. JP Arencibia joins us this week on Chasin’ Birdies. We kick off our 4th season with a banger! By the way, thanks for the support along the way. We heart you. We open up the episode with some cigar talk..like right away. JP and Pepe can’t help but salivate at the mouth when they hear the word ‘cigar.’ They both agree that smoking a cigar is a way to relax. Hmm. We chop it up over what it was like growing up in Miami and the transition into the baseball world. JP fills us in on his whole baseball career. We get into the modern world of baseball and how these rule changes positively affect the game. We get into some deep talk about mental health. JP opens up about some of his battles and discusses the thought process. Whether golfing or on the field, being able to stay present in the moment is key to success. We end our episode with our standard tap-in segment AND the new addition - Golfer’s Dilemma, where we pose a dilemma scenario that we’re all familiar with! Entrepreneurs are generally fascinating people. For us, we love to hear the success stories, especially when they involve golf. That’s the trend for today’s episode. We sat down with Mike Flaskey, former CEO of Diamond Resorts, to discuss all things life and golf and his new entertainment company. We open up the episode and get into the early days. We talk about Diamond Resorts and the impact Diamond Resorts had on golf. If you watch any golf, you may remember some of the golfers wearing Diamond Resorts on their hats. Mike tells us about the start of their entertainment platform that started with Colt Ford. This platform allowed for an entertainment aspect to be infused into the golf tournaments. We turn the episode over to some technical talk consisting of golf where it is today vs. golf where it was yesterday. We jump ahead to when Diamond Resorts sold to Hilton. We ask Mike what it was like being in on this deal..and how he treated himself after the deal closed. His answer may surprise you. We turn the episode over down the stretch and talk more about entertainment and golf. We chat about Isleworth and other great courses in FL. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In Segment, where we ask Mike 4 questions that demand his quick response. Tune in now to hear from a guy that we all could take a little inspiration from. We’re back this week with a legend in his own right. Sean Avery sits down with us to talk about…well, a lot. It’s always promising when a Guest comes on and says they don’t want to be doing this Podcast right now. We took lemons and made them into lemonade, and this episode is truly a favorite. We open up with Sean, talking about his son, Nash. Apparently, Nash has a knack for the game of golf. How couldn’t he? He’s getting lessons from George Gankas. The episode turns from us asking a question to Sean asking US questions. We dive into the difference between forged and cast irons. We get into talking about Hybrids and why most people don’t use them. When Sean asks us if Scotty Cameron still makes the best putters, we acknowledge they’re good but pro-Bettinardi over here. How he handles this is hilarious. The episode turns over into more talk about golf, life after hockey, and what he’s into these days. We finish up the episode with our standard Tap-IN segment presented by Bettinardi Golf. Tune in now and listen to this episode that will undoubtedly keep your attention from start to finish! Michael Del Zotto joins us this week on Chasin’ Birdies. We gave him some shit in the beginning, comparing his recent appearance on Spittin’ Chiclets to now appearing on this show. Fortunately for us, he’s no stranger to golf. We open up the episode and get a look at what he’s up to post-NHL life. He dives into the transition of life after he ‘retired’ and why Real Estate was something he ventured into after moving to South Florida. He’s now responsible for booking golf trips for groups and celebrities. We get into some talk about playing golf in Northern Ireland and how we prefer to play those iconic courses. We debate vibe over the quality of the course. Would you rather be at a club with a good vibe or one that has a championship-caliber course? In today’s modern golf, vibe is equally as important. We get into what’s important on the course as far as music and drinks..and why changing shoes in the parking lot is often a no-no. We finish the episode with our standard Tap-In Segment presented by Bettinardi Golf. Tune in and listen to this fun-filled episode. Share, like, listen. We appreciate the love. It’s 2024, and the first episode of the year. We’re back this week with a former NBA first-rounder, Courtney Lee. As golf junkies ourselves, we always enjoy hearing from another ‘pro’ why they’re hooked on this game. We open up the episode and learn that Courtney just got off the golf course..literally. We talk about some golf in Florida and where he pegs it up. He tells us how he got into golf, thanks to Top Golf. We get into some talk about his basketball career. After a college run at Western Kentucky, Courtney gets drafted in the first round of the 2008 NBA draft (22nd overall). He shares some stories about his playing time in the league. Courtney runs with the best of them when playing golf. He tells some stories about playing in celebrity events and what event he hopes to land in sometime in the near future. We talk about equipment and vibes on the golf course. As you hear, Courtney is no stranger to having fun on the course. We round out the interview with our standard tap-in segment, where we ask Courtney some questions that demand his quick-witted response. Tune in now to hear this fresh episode. We’re back this week on Chasin’ Birdies with a guest who does that day in and day out. Andrew Redvanly, Founder of Redvanly, joins us on the podcast today. We open up the episode and learn a little more about Andrew. Growing up in New Jersey, he tells us about his upbringing in sports (mainly hockey) and his early on dream of becoming a sports agent. Fast forward to after college, he decides to take a shot at offering some clothing pieces to clubs, and the beginning of Redvanly is underway. After talking more about the apparel game, we get into some sports talk and chat about current day situations with some of our favorite sports teams. We hear a story about a time in Napa with one of his employees. At the 39-minute mark, Pepe’s laptop shits the bed, and it just becomes a banter with Andrew and Bash. We talk more about golf and business and what it takes to be successful in today’s world. We talk in-depth about Chasin’ Birdies and what’s going on with the podcast. Bash takes the reigns and attempts to handle the tap-in segment, but questions aren’t readily available, so this is done on the cuff! Tune in now, buy some Redvanly, and share this episode! We start off with Chris talking about how we Americans are always on time. He runs through some scenarios with golfers around the world and how their practice schedule differs from country to country. We got into some talk with Chris about his early career in golf and trying to make it professionally. After coming close but not enough, he tells us how he ended up with Taylormade and working on global tours for them. We switch over the talk and get into some analytics. Chris tells us some stories about guys on the tour and what some of their routines look like before an event. He also talks about a run-in with Paul McCartney that will have you laughing. Chris started his own venture at Trottie Golf and lets us hear what his plan is now that he works on his own. Make sure you check him out on YouTube, people! We’re back for another fresh episode of Chasin’ Birdies. Country singer/performer Mitchell Tenpenny joins us to chat all about life in his world and his slight addiction to the game of golf. We open up the episode with some rehashing of the past. The three of us have known each other for some time now, but this is the first time we sit down and chop it up. We talk about his life lately and the tour he’s been on. With the Holidays approaching, Mitchell tells us about his slowdown that’s approaching. We dive into some talk about the tour and where he’s been. How does golf play a role in their day-to-day affairs? MTP tells us why golf is used to break up the monotony of the typical tour life. Being a musician is one thing, but being an entrepreneur with a passion to help is another. MTP encompasses both and shares a look at his charity and how he’s combating cancer. We also know he’s a sneakerhead. We touch on topics surrounding golf today and his Jordan collection. We get a sneak peek into what 2024 will look like, including a tour with Luke Combs in the U.S. It’s safe to say Mitchell is on a rocketship with no slowing down. We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment, where MTP is asked some questions that demand his response. Tune in, share, and like this episode (if you really like it). With playoff baseball in the air, it’s appropriate to bring on this All-Star pitcher and hear what he’s all about. Mitch Keller joins us on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. The Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher had a great season in 2023, and now, with the offseason in full swing, will he get some golf in? We open up the episode and chop it up a bit with Mitch. Just getting back from Ireland, we thought there’d be some golf stories..but he didn’t play. We chatted about Ireland and all the golf that happens in that country, along with some stories from the trip last year. We get the inside scoop of his early career in baseball and being drafted right out of High School. We turn the talk over to baseball now and what it’s like playing for the Pirates. Hitting the league in 2019, Mitch has grown in his role and looks to be hitting his stride into next year. We turn the talk over to some golf. He grew up with basically a practice facility near his house, so golf came at an early age. Sneaking in golf before baseball practice was something he did on the reg. We flow through some more banter and yuck it up about everything from the offseason to golf trips and everything in between. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment, where Mitch is asked questions that demand his response. We’re back this week on Chasin’ Birdies as we head over to the NFL world. Danny Woodhead joins us in this episode to chat about all things life, football, and his passion for golf. We open up the episode with Danny giving us a look into his early football career. Setting records in college, Danny was undrafted and ended up being scooped up by the Jets. He tells us the story of an injury that sets him back but only to be claimed thereafter by the New England Patriots. We talk about what it was like playing with Tom Brady and for Bill Belichick. We get a glimpse into what practices were like with Tom tossin’ the pigskin. Staying on the football front, we talk about Super Bowl 46 and his move over to the San Diego Chargers. Not knowing what to do after football, Danny’s wife told him he should take up golf. This small fire set blaze, and Danny tells us how now he’s totally hooked on golf. Playing at a scratch, we talk about golf experiences he’s had and his passion. We have to admit, Danny is an equipment junky and gives us a look into what his set currently consists of. This is a good one…a really, really good one. With Fall in the air, not only is golf still at the forefront, but basketball season is right around the corner. We are kicking it off with this episode and our guest, Cameron Johnson, who plays for the Brooklyn Nets. We open up the episode and talk about his upbringing in the Pittsburgh area. Playing in the WPIAL opened a lot of doors for Cam, and sure enough, he found himself at the University of Pittsburgh playing D-1 basketball for the Panthers. After three years at Pitt, he left and joined UNC Tarheels for his remaining years of eligibility. He tells us what other schools he was considering and what playing for UNC was like, especially during the rivalry games with Duke. Cam opens up and tells us what it was like playing at Duke during their Senior Night…the story is so good. We turn the page over to life currently and his time in the NBA. Drafted in the 1st round of the 2019 NBA Draft, he was traded to Phoenix and spent some time with the Suns. Recently, Cam inked a multiyear deal with the Brooklyn Nets and talks a little bit about his life in the NBA. The fun starts when we start talking golf with Cam. New to the game, he is now an addict like us all. He’s got some goals to get his game up to par and gives us a look at how many thoughts are in his head when swingin’ the club. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment, with the ongoing question of Jordan or Lebron? Tune in to hear this episode and a lot more from Cam. We’re back this week on Chasin’ Birdies with a very close friend of the Pod. You’ve heard us talk about Steve numerous times on the show, and we are stoked to have him join us. As always, we’re all about people chasin’ birdies in life, and Steve has done just that. We open up with Steve giving us a run down on his entry into the golf world. From leaving college early to being a hip-hop artist (true story), to catching a break with Bridgestone, and finally working for Nike, he tells us his story. This doesn’t come without several laughs, though. The story transitions over to his gig now with Linksoul. If you’re a golfer or in golf, clearly you’ve heard of Linksoul. Steve got the nod to join Linksoul and now has grown to oversee sales across the US. We talk about the products Linksoul puts out, and Steve gives us a look at what the product will look like moving forward. Steve carries an 8 handicap, so naturally, we get some laughs from him on the course. We turn the episode over to some golf talk and tell some stories about us playing golf with Steve. We touch on stories from Pine Valley to Pronghorn, and they come with many laughs. Bash tells the story of Steve and his 8-iron. The 8-iron story is gold. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment where we ask Steve some questions that demand his quick response. Tune in to this week's episode..we know you’ll enjoy it. Another episode, another cool story. Josh Booty joins us today on Chasin’ Birdies. Josh has had quite the life and has experienced many things that most of us won’t experience like playing in the MLB and NFL. We open up the episode and dive into Josh’s past career. Growing up in Louisiana allowed him to play football and baseball. Playing college football at LSU helped him get into position to win. His baseball career took off and landed him in the first round of the 1994 MLB Draft. Soon thereafter, after serving some time away, he came back and, this time, took a shot as a QB in the NFL. One thing that we have in common with Josh is our golf addiction. We turn the talk over and dive into some golf talk. Josh regularly plays in Nashville with John Daly and some other past guests of the show. As an Entrepreneur, Josh stays chasin’. Josh opens up about his new gaming company he is about to launch that changes the way betting is done. The story is interesting, to say the least. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment, where Josh is asked questions that demand his quick response. Tune in now to this episode of Chasin’ Birdies. We know you’ll love it. We’re back this week for an episode with your two favorite podcast hosts. No guest this week on Chasin’ Birdies, but that’s ok; we will keep you entertained. We have a lot to cover since our last episode drop. We open up the episode with a lot of LIV Golf talk. Bash played in the Pro-AM at the LIV tournament at The Greenbrier. We talked about what that experience was like from start to finish. He was paired up with Peter Uihlein and Scott Vincent. He talks about what the pairings party was like and who showed up. A very interesting story takes place where he was mistakenly thought to be Abraham Ancer. We navigate the episode over to some fun banter, and Pepe explains his recent golf adventures. Playing in his 4th Member-Guest of 2023, he comes up short again and gets waxed by some people with too many dots on their cards. Pepe tells us he spent some time in Nashville recently playing at Troubadour, but we can’t get him to tell us who he played with. We have to imagine, though, that it was someone famous in the country music scene. We turn the episode over to some current-day golf talk and end it with no Tap-In segment! We will be coming back in two weeks with a new guest for your listening pleasure, but for now, we hope you enjoyed this light-hearted, humorous episode of Chasin’ Birdies! Stori Snider from Bettinardi Golf sits down with us to talk (and tell stories) about…well, golf. Stori has been in the business for years and has a lot to talk about with his prior golf experiences. It helps that Stori and Pepe have been friends for quite some time. In fact, both of them have a lot of commonalities. We open up the episode with Stori telling us how he got hooked on golf. He played some mini-tour events but eventually switched over to the club side of things. We talk about golf in the Western PA region and some of the players that have come out of here. The episode rolls into ‘storitime’, where we talk about everything golf. We talk about the importance of being fitted for a putter. PEOPLE! Get fit for a putter! It’s that simple. Stori explains the science behind this and why it’s beneficial for your game. Example: George Birge. We roll into some more fun banter and hear a story of having breakfast with Phil Mickelson. Stori tells us what was going on between Phil and Bones on the 13th hole in the final round of The Masters. And the coolest one so far…what happens when you get an Ace on National Golf Links? Listen up! We’re back this week with a very special guest and friend of the pod, Jon Barry. JB played numerous years in the NBA and worked courtside as an analyst for ESPN. Now, he does some weeknight commentary for NBA TV. The episode opens up with us just catching up with Jon. We recap some nights we had at The Greenbrier during the Chasin’ Birdies Two-Man. Jon talks about his early years and playing college ball in the ACC. He talks about gearing up for life in the NBA and what propelled him into being drafted in the 1st round of the NBA Draft. We talk hoops, and although we aren’t hoopers by trade, we discuss NIL and the landscape of college basketball today. This discussion bleeds into other college sports talk and how the NIL has changed all of college sports. The talk turns over to the Lebron/MJ debate. We discuss which player had a bigger effect on the game itself. Who are you taking?? We talk a bit more about the NBA and how the game has changed since he played. We turn the pod over to some golf talk, and we mention that Pepe is battling Lymes Disease. Pepe can’t help but to talk about some art that JB received from an artist called Pricasso. Check out Pricasso online and use your imagination. We round up the episode with some golf talk. JB is a golf addict and plays on the reg. Nate Boyer joins us on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. It’s safe to say Nate has accomplished a lot in his life, and we’re here to hear all about it. We open up the episode with some banter, and Nate tells us his story of growing up in California. He tells us his favorite sport growing up was football, but never played a snap in his life. That is, until at 29, he walked on to the University of Texas football team. We aren’t talking about a junior college or D3, this is D1 Big 12 smashmouth football, and my man just rolls in and makes the squad. We dive into his life after football. Serving in the military for 10+ years, Nate had a run-in with Colin Kaepernick that picked up some media attention. The two discussed what would be an ok way to peacefully protest the National Anthem, and it led to CP eventually taking a knee as opposed to the bench. Nate explains this story and lets us in on what actually went down. We turn it over to his life now and his passion and love for creating movies. Nate directed the movie MVP which was released in 2022. The Tap-In segment ends the episode where Nate is asked questions that demand his quick response. We’re back this week on Chasin’ Birdies with Hailey Ostrom. The social media influencer has done more than just chase birdies on the course. She’s amassed a social media following that allows her to be one of the top influencers in the golf world. And her game is on par, too. We open up the episode with a bit of a banter from Pepe & Bash! US Open recap, Chasin’ Birdies Two-Man talk, and what else those two have been doing since our last drop. Collectively, they’ve played 216 holes of golf in two weeks, so there’s a bit of a lot to catch up on. We roll this into our interview with Hailey. Although golf talk will naturally exist, Hailey tells us what her workout regime is like. One of us likes to work out, too, so it was an easy topic to open up the interview with. Hailey grew up in Bend, Oregon, and if you’re a listener of the show, you know that Bend is where Bash plays every fall in a two-man event. We chat about where her love for the game of golf came from and how she got into the game. Hailey explains to us why she had to turn Pro and what the consequences would be if she kept her Amateur status. She explains that she didn’t fall in love with golf until college. We turn the episode over to some LIV golf talk. Hailey played in the Pro-Am and was paired with Caitlyn Jenner. She tells some stories about this experience and what some of the guys on the LIV tour told her about their reasoning for leaving the PGA Tour. Also, her pairings party story is epic! We chat more about life, golf, and her pursuit of birdies. We turn the episode over to our Tap-In segment, where we ask Hailey some questions that demand her response. We are back this week with another episode of Chasin’ Birdies, and it is just us on the mics! This banter session is long overdue, and we get into some good stuff. Chasin’ Birdies heads to The Greenbrier this weekend for the first annual Chasin’ Birdies Two-Man. 24 guys..2 courses..and 1 helluva good time. We run through the players involved and get a look at how this event is shaping up to be. We talk about the event that took place at Nemacolin with the Playin’ Through group. Tyler Reeve, Cole Taylor, and Cole Swindell rocked the place, and we all got absolutely rocked in our own ways. We dive into the drama surrounding the PGA Tour/DP Tour/LIV Golf unity. Nothing pairs better with a sunny day of golf than some music playing and a drink of choice in the holder. Whatever music you’re into, it surely elevates the vibe. For us, we enjoy hearing three chords and the truth. That’s exactly what our guest today puts together for a living. Thomas Archer joins us to talk songwriting in Nashville and his pursuit of birdies. We open up the episode and hear about his background. It wasn’t too long ago that he moved to Nashville to chase a dream. Growing up in Georgia allowed him to dig into the roots of country music AND golf. Now it’s all come full circle. Thomas hooks up with a guy by the name of Luke Combs early on in his career. It wasn’t until 3 years later that the song they wrote caught fire and changed his life. This song is called Hurricane…may have heard it? If you ever heard the song “Lovin’ On You,” there’s reference to a birdie on a Par 5…that’s straight from TA’s mind. He just recently completed a write with Morgan Wallen and landed a song on his new album called “Keith Whitely.” He explains the ins and outs of this song and how it went through some changes before finally being a song that would make the album. We turn the episode over to some golf talk and catch up on where he plays, who he plays with, and how his game is shaping up headed into this summer. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment, where Thomas is asked 4 questions that demand his quick-witted reply. Tune in now, share, and enjoy this episode! We hope you enjoy it! If you’re a regular fan of this podcast, you know that we like to switch it up a bit when it comes to our guests. Whether it’s from the NFL or a motivational speaker, we enjoy hearing our guests talk about their life and why they’re addicted to golf. On today’s episode, we switch it up even more and are stoked to bring Chase Chrisley on the podcast. Chase is more known for his TV acting, but the man has a knack for podcasts, too. We had the pleasure of hanging out with Chase for a couple of days, and naturally, we opened up the episode with our disaster of a night at the Casino. We dive right into TV talk: How did the show come about, and what was it like? Quickly rising to fame, Chase tells us about an experience hosting a pool party with Diddy. We get into some talks about the media and how they want content to write their story when one is at a low. Chase touches on the ins and outs of what his family has dealt with in the recent past. He gives us a look into his life currently and what his family is dealing with. The episode turns over to some lighter moods, and golf talk persists. Chase talks about his newfound love of golf and where he pegs it. Living in Nashville, Chase recently started a real estate brokerage and is becoming more involved in his outside business ventures. We round out the show with our standard tap-in segment presented by Bettinardi Golf…and then extend the show just a little bit longer. We’re taking it over to some technical talk on this week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. The Kingdom is owned by Taylormade and is located in Georgia. Sean Cain joins us to talk about what life is like at The Kingdom and who’s coming by to get their golf swing ‘tune-up.’ Sean tells us a brief overview of how he got into golf. Although he was into racing and racecars early, his great-uncle owned a golf course, and that’s how he caught the bug. After playing golf and getting injured, he decided his passion for teaching was right in front of him and explained who he helped with their early golf development. We talk about the youth in golf and what it takes to make it in golf. You either got it or you don’t. Sean gives us a look into Taylormade and their R&D on products. Although he doesn’t have specific information, he gets a preview every September to see what products will launch the following year. Sean gives us insight into the club fitting setup at The Kingdom. The good part is it’s open to the public. He takes us through the whole fitting process at The Kingdom. They use advanced technology to get you fit into the right clubs for you. Listen to this episode, get amped up, and schedule yourself a fitting at The Kingdom. We round out the episode with our standard tap-in segment presented by Bettinardi Golf. Tune in and share! As the golf season is set upon us, so is baseball. We catch up with current Chicago Cub Ian Happ on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. Happ, who won a Gold Glove in 2022, can’t kick his golf addiction, and the question is: What game does he love more? We open up the episode and discuss his current partnership with Greyson Clothiers. If you check out his Instagram page, my man is decked out in Greyson to the max. Ian explains how this relationship was formed and what it’s all about. We dive into Ian’s early years in baseball and how he chose Cincinnati as his college program. We talk a bit about baseball and what it’s like being on the road and still managing a golf game. Ian clearly doesn’t miss any chance to play golf and is actively lining up golf spots while on the road. Ian is a golf equipment junkie. He tells us what he’s currently playing down to the specific grinds of his WEDGES. It comes as no surprise he’s rolling it with a Bettinardi, as he has a nice little deal going with them. We talk more golf and hit on the courses that are in and around Chicago. When he’s back in Pittsburgh, though, what is his favorite course to play? You’ll have to listen to hear. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment presented by Bettinardi Golf. This week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies is a first for us. Not only is it a first ‘live’ podcast, but it’s also a first for being well over an hour long. We sat down with Eric Tangradi (NHL) and Neil Walker (MLB) for a live recording at X-Golf in Wexford, PA. The sounds of balls being ripped in the simulators add the perfect amount of background noise in this episode. We open up the episode and introduce our friends, Neil Walker and Eric Tangradi. They both tell their story of how they’ve chased birdies in life, have had successful professional sports careers, and how they’re doing in today’s world of chasin’ birdies post-retirement. Neil’s humbleness, coupled with Eric’s persistent humor, makes for some great laughs early on. The episode takes a turn when we start telling stories centered around golf trips. Eric clogs a toilet in Pinehurst after eating 100 McNuggets in under 3 hours, while Neil breaks away from batting practice to hit the links while on the road. We tell more golf stories and talk more golf. On a serious note, we discuss an issue in youth sports where kids are spread too thin chasing their dream. After some serious discussions, we get back to the lightheartedness and talk more golf. We round out the episode with our top 5 courses we’ve played…not top 5 that we want to play. Tune into this episode to hear a great banter over a few cold beers. If you are in the Pittsburgh area, please visit X-Golf in Wexford. The place is a great spot to get your game in check. We are stoked to bring you this episode of Chasin’ Birdies with former NFL DT and current ESPN football analyst Booger McFarland. We love knowing that although we didn’t win a Super Bowl or can’t do play-by-play playcalling, we still have golf as our common denominator with Booger. We open up the episode and talk with Booger about what’s going on in life and how he gets his golf fix during his busy season. He explains how he got into radio in the Tampa Bay market. We asked Booger, “Why golf?” He tells us how he got started in golf and why he’s addicted. We also learn that if you’re going to play with Booger, you better play fast, or he’ll leave you behind. We hear Booger’s thoughts on Oakmont..like it, love it, or hate it? We dive into more golf talk and hit on some points about pace of play. LIV Golf vs. PGA Tour talk ensues. Booger explains his perspective on LIV Golf and how that tour will now co-exist with the PGA Tour. Is he a fan of LIV? You’ll have to listen to hear. We end our episode with our standard Tap-In Segment presented by Bettinardi Golf, where Booger explains his most memorable round of golf as well as the best player he’s played against in the NFL! This week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies brings on a familiar face and a past guest, Rocco Mediate. We catch up with Rocco to talk all things golf while he’s on a break between tour events. What has he been up to? Listen to find out. The episode opens with some good banter. He competed in the Chubb Classic and talks a little about his game and how he still has some work to do to get ready for the 2023 season. We talk, of course, about the GOAT, Tiger, and why nothing he does is surprising after an impressive finish at Riviera. Speaking of another GOAT, Rocco gives his perspective on playing Grove XXIII. He tells a story about him and Michael Jordan having a chat before pegging it up. For you club junkies, we get into some technical talk about shafts and different clubs. Rocco explains what he’s thinking about doing to change his setup. We chat more about golf, LIV Tour, and other golf-related topics. Whether it’s golf or any other sport, we’re all about it on Chasin’ Birdies. Today’s guest is a perfect example of one who can’t get enough of golf but has been chasin’ birdies in life their whole career. Bob Pompeani from KDKA Pittsburgh joins us on this episode of chasin’ birdies. In fact, Bob just received the Sports Broadcaster of the Year award for 2022. Bob was a little late to the tee…so we had to cut the interview short. We open up the interview and talk about how he got on the professional path he’s been on now for over 40 years. Bob fills us in on why he wanted to be in the sports world after dealing with some heart issues early in life. We talk more about sports and specifically the Steelers. He gives us his opinion on where they’re headed and what the future could look like. We do love talking golf…but with a sports broadcaster on the line, we have to include some other topics outside of golf. We turn the episode over to some golf talk. We make mention of all the great courses that exist in SW PA. Bob has a great plan, in theory, to bring a new kind of golf tournament to the Tri-State region. We elaborate on this a bit and hear some stories from the Mario Lemieux golf tournament…including red wine on a white suit. Good stuff, Bob! We end the interview with our standard Tap-In segment before Bob has to run off and be a pro on TV. If you’re a Pittsburgher, you’ll love this episode. Share, listen, and like…we appreciate the love! You know you’re guilty of this…showing up to the range 20 minutes (if you’re lucky) before your tee time and ‘trying’ to stretch. Swing a heavy club, touch your toes, loosen up with a wedge..we all do it. But the real work is done in the offseason. We dive into some good stretch talk with Kyle Valery and Chris Wilke from Stretch Affect in San Diego, CA. The show opens up with a basic understanding of how Kyle and Chris came to be business partners. They’re both experts in their respective fields. They are trying to grow their brand awareness to the masses and help people gain more mobility. Kyle explains how Stretch Affect came to be. We turn the episode over to some golf talk. Firing up the glutes? Chris explains that this happens over a long course of time…not just in 5 minutes before your round. Having a good stretch regime will go a long way with your golf game. We dive into more golf talk and share some laughs. We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment, where Kyle and Chris are hit with questions that demand their quick response. New year..new episode..and a new topic for discussion on Chasin’ Birdies: Food. On today’s episode, we bring on Starvin Marvin Jr to chat it up about his food obsession. Since COVID hit, his Instagram handle has grown, and he posts some pretty amazing creations that he makes in the kitchen. We open up the show and talk about who is Starvin Marvin Jr and how in the world did this happen? His real name is Pat, and he actually has a REAL job. Like us and Chasin’ Birdies, ‘Starvin Marvin Jr’ is his side gig. We get into some discussions on how he decided to start this venture and what he likes to cook. By mid-episode, you’ll be starving. We turn the episode over and discuss how golf clubs across the country are all known for their ‘one’ thing they serve. Whether it’s the Milkshakes at Muirfield Village or Turtle Soup at Pine Valley, golf and food really do go hand in hand. We also learn firsthand that Starvin Marvin does NOT have a brother. You have to listen to the episode to understand this one. Christmas is right around the corner. With our final episode of 2022, we turn the mics over to ourselves and are happy to bring you this little banter sesh. We think you’ll like it. But then again, we won’t make any promises. The episode opens up with us talking about our current life situation. What’s been happening? What’s new? We dive into our reflection period for 2022. Chasin’ Birdies hit some great growth goals this year, and it couldn’t have happened without YOU. We sometimes like to bring on a guest randomly. One of our friends who we talk about often on the show…or even call a past guest to catch them off guard. This week, it was our intent to have a guest on, but it didn’t work out. That guest was Mr. Steve Pirring. For those that don’t know Steve, he’s a tall, slender, 8-handicapper that will grind his way around a course just to break 80. We compare Steve to a friend we all have in our group…and if you listen, you’ll understand what we’re talking about. We round out the episode with our gratitude and thanks to our friends, fans, and sponsors for helping us get to this point. From all of us here at Chasin’ Birdies, THANK YOU for an awesome 2022. Gabe Landeskog joins us on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. The Swedish NHLer won the Stanley Cup in 2021-2022 with the Colorado Avalanche, and just like us; he can’t get enough of chasin’ that white ball around. We open up the episode and touch briefly on the great state of Colorado. Pepe asks for a look-in at Gabe’s offseason and where he goes during that time. Gabe explains how he got his start in the hockey world and how he moved over to Toronto from Sweden. 2011 hits, and he’s taken 2nd overall in the draft by the Avalanche. The episode turns over to Stanley Cup talk, where Gabe explains the vibe that the team had while chasin’ the Cup. Although coming up short in previous years, he felt the shortcomings were necessary to reach the end goal: winning the Cup. Managing the momentum shifts takes synergy, and that’s what they did in the 2021-2022 season. What’s in the Cup? Pepe can’t help but ask what drink of choice landed in the cup after the win. Gabe discusses the handling of the Cup and the parties that ensued. Golf talk happens late in the episode, and Gabe expresses his love for the game. We tell some fun golf stories and talk a little about what we amateurs do on the course to mess up a good round. After some golf banter, we end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment, where we ask Gabe 4 questions that demand his quick response. Tune in now to this episode and share! People of the universe…we are stoked to bring you this new episode of Chasin’ Birdies. Today’s guest is well-known on the PGA Tour. Not because of his driving distance or putting skills but because of his being a top-tier caddie for Rickie Fowler and Tom Kim. Joe Skovron joins us today to talk about golf..and more golf. We open up the episode by diving into Joe’s early career and how he linked up with Rickie Fowler. Joe tells the story of him getting the nod from Fowler and how the relationship just took off from there. We touch on what it was like caddying for Rickie and hone in on some pretty cool moments. Joe tells us what it was like caddying for Rickie during his first PGA Tour career win and the mood at the 2015 Players Championship. Getting to know how the caddie world works, Joe tells us stories on prep and how it differs from a major to a normal tournament. Does it really differ? We switch over to some talk about his new role with Tom Kim and how he’s excited for this opportunity. The show ends with our standard Tap-In segment presented by Bettinardi Golf, where we ask Joe 4 questions that demand his quick reply. Tune in for this one, golf lovers. Cole Taylor has written songs for some big country artists. Cole Swindell, Jason Aldean, and Florida Georgia Line, just to name a few. He does, however, try to write a few birdies on the scorecard from time to time. We open up the interview and learn a little more about Cole. Growing up in Georgia and already friends with Cole Swindell, he had music in his blood. Coming up 13 hours short of his degree, he rounded up some money and moved to Nashville. We talk about life in Nashville and what that whole scene looks like from his perspective. We learn that a song cycle from writing to radio could take up to two years. Cole also has a collection of 650 songs written…650!? After some more music talk, we finally transition over to golf talk. He had a chance to play Augusta National, so we chat a little about that. During COVID, he, Cole Swindell, and Tyler Reeve started Playing Through group. This business venture allows them to play private shows at different clubs and tie in golf. Yellowstone Club, anyone? We all love to chase birdies on the course. Like golf, life has its ups and downs. That’s the case for Damon West. Author of “The Coffee Bean,” Damon has positively impacted thousands of people after his life was changed while in prison. The episode opens up with us diving into Damon’s early life. A football QB, Damon found himself addicted to drugs. While in some trouble with the law due to a criminal organization he was behind, his life was unraveling. We ask Damon about his life at the time and what went through his mind while hitting rock bottom. We turn the episode over to talk about his prison sentence. After a brief jury deliberation, he found himself facing nearly 70 years in prison. During his time, he met a man named Mr. Jackson. Mr. Jackson told him a story about a carrot, an egg, and a coffee bean. From this point forward, Damon had a new outlook on life. He explains what this felt to him and how he was able to successfully be released from prison after a shortened sentence. After some more talk about his life and what he’s into now, we turn the episode over to our standard tap-in segment. People, please share this episode. In a world that’s full of competition, it’s hard enough to keep your squad relevant in the college sports world. It’s even harder to build a program from scratch…and only have one year to recruit. That’s exactly what Sean Covich had to do when he was hired to head up the Men’s Golf program at WVU. Work in a cubicle, recruit and be ready for Fall golf in twelve months. We open up the episode and learn a little more about Sean. He’s originally from Mississippi and played college golf at a Junior college. After catching wind that WVU was looking to have a golf program, Sean threw his name in the hat, and the rest is history. We talk about his move from the South up to Morgantown, WV, and what this new role entailed. We talk more golf and dive into plans for the program’s future growth plans. After some banter, we end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment, where we ask Sean 4 questions that demand his quick-witted response. This week’s guest is no different than our past guests on Chasin’ Birdies…well, maybe he is. James Wisniewski joins us on this week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies to talk about all things golf, hockey, gambling, and more! Hailing from Sherwood Country Club, James stays chasin’ birdies on the reg. We open up the episode and dive into some hockey talk. James had a phenomenal career in the NHL playing in over 550 games. He was a member of Team USA in the Olympics and achieved much success on the ice. We talk about the current NHL landscape and what’s going on in the league today. We transition the episode and get right into golf. A scratch golfer, James is a golf addict to a ‘tee.’ We talk about his time at Muirfiled Village in Dublin, OH, where he became friendly with Tour players such as Jason Day. We get a peek into the on-course games that they played and how much money was on the line. We talk about playing golf across the pond in Scotland and why golf is a sport that is much better with a good group of friends and a couple cold beers. As we open up the episode, we admit that Roger was hard to nail down..and we weren’t kidding! We are stoked to have Roger on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies to talk all things life and golf with Roger. We start off by diving into Roger’s beginning into the game of golf. His Father was a big influence on his love for the game. Growing up outside of Chicago led to many opportunities surrounding golf. Although Roger has an Engineering degree, he discusses his rediscovered love for golf. Playing in corporate golf events sparked his love again for the game. COVID hits, and during this time while in LA, he started the creation of his brand. This included Hipe Media and other golf-related endeavors. We discuss these changes in his life and how he’s on a growing path that was created by himself. We transition the episode over to what’s ahead for Roger and how he intends to keep building his brand. With sponsors by Callaway, Nike, and other endorsers, he’s got ample amounts of opportunity in front of him. As a side note, he’s passionately involved in youth development towards golf. We round out the episode with our standard Tap-In segment, where we ask Roger some questions that demand his quick-witted response. If you don’t follow Roger on IG, you’re missing out! We have a special episode drop of Chasin’ Birdies today with Mark Brant. We need to pay homage to the troops and those who protect this great Country, and no better way to show that love than with a guy whose golf career came AFTER the military. We open up the episode and discuss with Mark his college days at Murray State and how he transitioned over to the Air Force Special Warfare division. A Pararescueman (aka PJ) is not the route everyone wants to take. For Mark, it was in his blood, and he took on the role without any questions. The episode transitions into some battle stories, and we ask Mark about what it’s like jumping out of a plane in the middle of nowhere. We also can’t help but ask novice questions like, “Do you carry your cell phone when jumping?” After some military talk, we turn over to the golf side of things, where we learn about where Mark is right now relative to where he wants to be with his professional golf career. We talk about his qualifiers and his love for Pinehurst, NC, where he was stationed not too far from there. We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment where we ask Mark questions that demand his quick reply. Watch out for Mark to see if he breaks through! Thanks for your service, Mark, and good luck chasing your dream. This episode is a feel-good episode that will go well with a nice chocolate brownie. Every now and then, we like to bring on a guest who’s either a pro golfer or one that is a helluva lot better than us two. Today’s guest accomplishes just that. We welcome Ben Carr on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. The Georgia Southern 5th-year senior battled hard in the U.S. Amateur Championship, where he ended up losing 1-down to Sam Bennett. We open up the episode and talk to Ben a little about his background, how he got into golf, and what propelled him to be where he is today. It’s no wonder he has a strong grip considering he thought baseball would be his ‘sport.’ After a couple minutes of talk and a shout-out to Mason Williams, we can’t help but dive into the 2022 U.S. Amateur talk. Ben wasn’t sure he was going to even qualify for the event, but after a few good rounds, he found himself advancing past the first set of matches with a 7 and 5 victory. Ben found himself 5 down after 22 holes but managed to rally with back-to-back birdies before taking this match all the way to the 36th hole. The emotional roller coaster was real, and hear it firsthand in this interview with the 2022 U.S. Am runner-up. We transition over to our tap-in segment, where Ben is asked 4 questions that demand his quick-witted response. We promise you, a few of these questions have never been asked before. Tune in, share, and let us know how you like this drop. Good luck to the 2022 GASO Men’s Golf Team…keep chasin’. We’ve had a good run with all our NHL buds..and this one is no different. We welcome Haydn Fleury on this week’s episode. The newly signed Tampa Bay Lightning joins us to talk golf, Ireland, and what’s going on in his world. We open up the episode and talk about where Haydn grew up in Western Canada. Hockey was innately in his blood, and it wasn’t too long after before golf was, too. We talk about his new deal he just inked and how his golf game is going to shape up down in Tampa. Maybe we should be focusing more on hockey? We turn the talk over to some golf talk and what it was like playing golf in Ireland with the boys. We witnessed this man hit some deep BOMBS resulting in some (close) birdies. We get on the LIV golf subject and talk about what the hell is happening in pro golf! After some more banter, we end this episode with our standard Tap-In Segment, where we ask Haydn some questions that demand his quick-witted response. Tune in, share, and sit back for a fun-filled episode that will lead to severe smiling…just like Haydn. Key Links: Visit hbgolf.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies. The bottom line is this: we all love golf. Whether we’re interviewing a country singer or an athlete, golf always is the common denominator. Although you may not know our guest this week, it’s apparent his golf game is up to par. We welcome Noah Mullens onto this week’s show. The 2022 West Virginia State Amateur Champion sealed the victory at The Greenbrier by firing a four-round total score of -5. He definitely chased birdies…and caught them. We open up the show and talk about Noah’s upbringing from a rural town in Western WV. After a short stint in SC, Noah transferred back to Marshall University, where he competed on the Men’s Golf Team. Ironically, Pepe was a former Marshall Golf standout. The two banter back and forth about Marshall golf and share some stories. We transition over to how Noah got the W and what was going through his mind. After the final round became extremely close, Noah used an eagle on the 17th of the Old White to help secure his three-shot victory. Hats off to you, Noah. We wrap up the episode with our standard tap-in segment and put Noah on the spot for some quick-witted answers. For an off-week episode, this one slaps! If you follow us on social media or even listened to past episodes, you know that the 2022 Ireland trip was highly anticipated. Now, it’s over. We bring you this episode as a Pepe x Bash banter sesh and call in three of our buddies who were on the trip. We talk golf, travel, and what it was like playing across the pond. Our lineup of courses we played is Portstewart, Portrush, Royal County Down, Ardglass, The Island, and Portmarnock. If you haven’t been, you better go. We open up the episode and phone in our first guest, Brandon Katzeff, aka BKatz. We take his perspective on the trip and hear his thoughts. We ask what his most ‘miserable’ moment in Ireland was..because, let’s be honest, sometimes the course will get the best of ya. We then phone in our second ‘guest,’ Brian John, aka Bimmer. Bimmer carries a smile wherever he goes. Fortunately, his smile and positive attitude helped to carry him through the links. We hear Bimmer’s take on Ireland, and his excitement can’t be missed. Bouncing like a kangaroo, everyone’s weekend golf group needs a Bimmer! We wrap up the episode with our grand finale, Mr. Ian Patrick Archer, aka IPA! Ian is known for his social media game where he shares every and any bit of content he can capture. If you followed along, he conducted caddie interviews, swing shots, and other content from the trip. Aside from IP’s motion sickness, his trip across the pond was a clean one, and if you don’t know IP, you need to. As always, we thank you for listening to our podcast and specifically this episode! People! Welcome, Mr. Kyle Long to this week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. The former NFL player turned golf junkie can’t get enough of chasin’ that white ball. Lucky for us, we nailed him down on a day where he was taking a break from the strenuous game of golf. We open the episode with us discussing Kyle’s career and how he came up through the ranks to make it to the NFL. We talk football, and Kyle shares some stories about his career in the league. We have no business talking football, but golf is the common denominator on this show. We turn the episode over to some golf talk. Kyle informs us that he is recently invited to the Yellowstone Club’s Member Guest. We love Member-Guests…and we hope Kyle brings home the W. Country music isn’t always about beers or trucks…and golf isn’t always about what you shoot! No better person can attest to this than George Birge. The Nashville singer joins us on today’s episode to talk…well, golf and music. Recorded in Pittsburgh at 93.7 The Fan (Thank y’all!), we open up the episode and get to learn a little more about George. Growing up in West Texas is what we all imagine: dirt roads, wide-open spaces, and country music. Music came early for George. After walking on to the University of Texas Men’s Golf Team, he joined forces with his friends in a band called Waterloo Revival. After yearning for something more, he left the band to start his own gig: George Birge. This is chasin’ birdies. We transition over to songwriting and how his hit “Beer, Beer, Truck, Truck” came to be. After some advice from a fellow star, George created a TikTok page and was off to the races. We dive into his first single, “Mind On You,” and how this came to be. Obviously, we now have to talk some golf. We discuss the LIV Golf Tour and other current golf matters. As we wrap up the show, we pay homage to Links Brewing for hosting us at Oakmont for two days. Boy o boy, ol’ George lit it up. Birdie on 18? Yep. We round out the show with our standard Tap-In segment, where George is asked questions that demand his quick-witted reply. Golf fans and country fans…tune in! You won’t want to miss this one. From Moscow Mules to a Transfusion Mix (just add Vodka), there’s no better craft mixer in the game than Owen’s Craft Mixers. Josh Miller, founder of Owen’s Craft Mixers, joins us on Chasin’ Birdies to talk about his leap-of-faith journey to start one of the most notable brands in the drink game today. This guy not only chases birdies on the course but has chased (and caught) birdies in LIFE. We open up the episode and discuss Josh’s background and how he started Owen’s with his partner, Tyler. He got a gig with Honest Tea and worked on a ketchup gig with Sir Kensington Ketchup. Starting at the bottom of these companies coupled with innate sales personality propelled Josh into finding his own brand, Owen’s Craft Mixers. We talk about Owen’s and how the brand started. From pasting a label on a bottle for a nightclub owner to landing a deal with Delta, Josh has chased birdies in his whole career. And guess what? He chases them on the COURSE! We turn the page and talk golf. Josh attends PGA events quite frequently. Pepe and Bash can’t go a whole episode without throwing some jabs at each other, and that’s true for this episode, too! Humorous and interesting, this episode will keep you dialed in. We polish off the episode with our standard tap-in segment where Josh is asked four questions, including his favorite on-course drink (Shocker, Pepe). Tune in and listen! We certainly love bringing you a new guest every other week. At the same time, we love having our Banter Sesh where we talk some shit, discuss the current state of Chasin’ Birdies, and overall just banter. This is exactly what this episode is; Pepe and Bash just talking. We played in the 2022 Pete Dye Member Guest in Bridgeport, WV. We discuss this event and how we failed miserably. Pepe couldn’t keep a ball out of the water, and Bash couldn’t hole a putt from 5 feet. Did we have fun? Absolutely. We cheered our friends Tango and BKatz as they competed in the shoot-out, only to have their dreams shattered when BKatz missed a 23-inch putt. Golf.Is.Hard. We move over to more discussions about Chasin’ Birdies and some new swag we have droppin’ soon. Overall, this episode is entertaining and will allow you to laugh. It’s 2022 and we live in a social media-driven world. Ever hear of Taylor Cusack? One of golf's top female social media influencers and she’s here today on Chasin’ Birdies to tell her story and why her love for golf still remains strong. Give her a follow on Instagram or Tik-Tok. You won’t be disappointed. For Taylor, it’s all about the content. And today, this episode of Chasin’ Birdies is great content for your listening pleasure! Scrolling..it’s something we do daily. And for Taylor Cusack, she’s about delivering good content to keep you scrolling on her page. We are delighted to have Taylor on this episode of Chasin’ Birdies. For us, it’s not so much the golf game that’s impressive but how she manages to keep her social media game up to par. We recorded this episode at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, PA. We open up the show and talk about Taylor and her beginnings in golf. A former golfer at Oklahoma City University, she took her game from the course to the digital world by becoming a social media influencer in the world of golf. We transition the show and talk about her upbringing in Oklahoma. Her family owns a meat company called Cusack Meats which, according to Taylor, is the best meat you can buy..period. Aside from golf, she’s an outdoorsy type gal. Cracks cold beer, fishes, and enjoys the Sooners on Saturdays. It’s apparent that she’s always down for a good time. We move into our last segment of the show, the Tap-In Segment where Pepe asks Taylor questions that demand her quick reply. He was begging her to see the DM’s she gets…but she declined with a grin. Former Pittsburgh Steeler and Ohio State Buckeye Ryan Shazier joins us on this week’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. An extremely humble and grateful person, Ryan opens up about his early rise to the NFL before it tragically ended in 2017. This hasn’t stopped Ryan from being determined to keep chasin’ birdies in life and that is exactly what he’s doing. Tune in..we cover so much in this episode! This week on Chasin’ Birdies we head back over to the football world with former Pittsburgh Steeler Ryan Shazier joining us on the show. As sports fans, it’s likely you know about Ryan and the career ending injury he suffered in 2017. What’s unlikely, though, is that you probably don’t know how determined of a human being Ryan is. We open up the episode and dive right into football talk. Ryan explains how he chose Ohio State University over LSU and other colleges. The kid had offers from every major school you could think of. We turn the page and jump into his early career in the NFL playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. We discuss the injury that ended his playing career back in 2017. This was a major life changing event and hearing the determination and perspective from Ryan is humbling to say the least. Being able to walk again is truly a miracle and that’s exactly what he did. Naturally, he still loves football and will take his son to games but doesn’t allow his son “booing” anyone. Although he’s not an avid golfer, Ryan has played golf and can appreciate the game. We tie this into life because for Ryan, he is chasin’ birdies in life. He discusses his post-NFL career as an Entrepreneur. He is greatly involved with his foundation and talking to people who have suffered an injury similar to his. Hats off to you, Ryan! We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment where Ryan is required to answer 4 questions in a timely fashion. This episode does not disappoint! Gratitude is everything! 6x PGA Tour winner Rocco Mediate joins us on this episode of Chasin’ Birdies. At 59 years young, there’s still plenty of gas left in his tank. We talk about his start on tour in 1986, the 2008 US Open, and what he’s doing now on the Champions Tour. This episode will keep you listening and wanting more! Although there were bigger moment’s in Rocco’s career (like beating Tiger Woods or winning 6x on tour), arguably the most notable weekend of his career happened during the 2008 US Open. Against who? Yep, Tiger Woods. We sit down with Rocco and talk golf in this episode of Chasin’ Birdies. The episode opens up with Rocco, while smoking a nice cigar, explaining the process for Tour eligibility in 1986. A collegiate golfer, he knew he had what it took to make it professionally as a golfer…or did he? He explains his early career and what it was like playing against greats like Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman. We fast forward a bit to 2008 and ask Rocco what he was thinking when he had to play in a playoff for the title against Tiger Woods on a Monday. His response is gold. After talking a bit about that certain day in 2008, we navigate over to his golf world now and what he does off the course when he’s not studying his lie angles or degrees of bounce. We end the show with our standard Tap-In segment where Rocco is asked 4-5 questions that demand his quick reply. For golfers, this episode will keep your attention from start to finish. Former NFL running back Marcus Allen joins us on this episode of Chasin’ Birdies. Question: What hasn’t he won? Heisman, NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and much more. Marcus knows how to chase birdies on the course and OFF the course. Give this episode a listen and hear all about his addiction to golf from one of the best to ever play in the NFL! We get back into the NFL world with former running back and now golf addict, Marcus Allen. Marcus has many accolades behind him with his illustrious NFL career. Now, in his later years, he can’t stop being the MVP of his golfing group. And that, people, means Most Valuable Putter. We open up the episode and talk a little football with Marcus. We touch on his NFL career and how the college football scene has changed from then to now. We touch briefly on the NIL situation and how that affects college sports. We flip the script from football and dive right into golf. Marcus briefs us on his Charity Golf Outing that he has been putting on for years. After listening to this interview, it seems as if there isn’t a course that Marcus hasn’t played. It’s apparent, with his slow and intentful demeanor, that he loves the game of golf. Chasin’ Birdies is more than what you do on the golf course. We like to hear what people are doing off the course, too. Today’s episode features Bob Winskowicz, the founder of SQAIRZ golf shoes. You may have seen SQAIRZ endorsed by Sir Nick Faldo or worn by Sepp Straka on the PGA TOUR. Regardless, the story of how SQAIRZ was born is fascinating, and by wearing these shoes, you may just gain some extra yardage off the tee. Hey, y’all! Want more distance? Try a pair of SQAIRZ! We all want more distance off the tee, or in general, but have you ever equated greater distance to the type of shoes you wear? We haven’t either until we interviewed Bob Winskowicz, the founder of SQAIRZ. We open up the interview and ask Bob how he figured out shoes can equate to more distance? Bob explains the logic behind his findings after a random business meeting led him to the driving range in his squared-toe dress shoes. He noticed his balls were flying further. What he did next is chasin’ birdies on a new level.. Bob explains the science behind his findings and how he successfully launched the shoe company, SQAIRZ. With a partnership in place with Sir Nick Faldo, SQAIRZ was in position to take off. We ask Bob how he goes about getting Tour players to wear his shoes. He simply finds up and coming players to wear and bets on them in a big way. Prime example is Sepp Straka, winner of the 2022 Honda Classic. We turn the table and ask Bob some personal questions like what he does in his spare time and what’s in store for the future of SQAIRZ. Hearing an innovative entrepreneur talk is always interesting. If nothing else, this interview is extremely interesting and could help you find a few extra yards! We end the episode with our standard tap-in segment where we ask Bob 4 questions that demand his quick witted response. Be sure to check out SQAIRZ on-line and thank you for listening to another fantastic episode! We hope you enjoy it. Key Links: Visit hbgolf.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies. We were delighted to have the time carved out for us to talk about life and golf with Mr. 54 and let us tell you, this episode won’t disappoint. We open up the show and catch up with Brian on his life post-football. He explains his love for living in AZ and being able to ride his mountain bike…everywhere. He hints at his slight obsession with Dr. Pepper so this helps keep the calories burnin’. Pepe goes on to explain that he and Brian have one thing in common: Sh*tting. The two banter about their personal issues and how they have to tackle the issue before a golf tournament or before an NFL game. This talk immediately adds an element of humor to this episode. We turn the tables and talk golf. It’s clear that Brian has a slight addiction to golf which is why we needed to hear it from him on Chasin’ Birdies. Chasin’ Birdies is proud to bring you this interview with Links Brewing founder Jeff Becker. Links Brewing, based in Pittsburgh, PA, is a brewery that focuses on golf themed beers. Links Brewing has created the in-house beer for Oakmont CC and now they are responsible for the creation of our Chasin’ Birdies Blonde Ale. Jeff not only chases birdies on the course but in life, too. Peep this episode and crack a cold one! Chip it n’ sip it! When you think of golf and hangin’ with your buddies, what’s one drink that is your go to on the course? We know transfusions are popular among us professional Member-Guesters. We also know the High Noons can be crushed with ease while lining up your 4th bogey putt of the day. But what about a crushable beer? Jeff Becker, founder of Links Brewing based in Pittsburgh, joins us to discuss the creation of his beer business and the new beer they’re dropping: Chasin’ Birdies Blonde Ale. We open up the episode and discuss the start of Links Brewing and how Jeff was able to tie his passion for golf into creating beer. We discuss the 1903 Ale which is the in-house beer at Oakmont CC. We turn the tables a bit and talk about golf and the experiences we’ve had on the course. While recording this, we ourselves were crushin’ some cold ones. Thirsty yet? JP and Bash banter mid episode and some laughs ensue. We ask Jeff his current handicap, which is an 11, and he still struggles to put a consistent round together. That sounds familiar! We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment by Bettinardi Golf. Great episode with a great local business doing big things. Colt Knost, co-host of Golf’s Subpar podcast and CBS on-course commentator, joins us today on Chasin’ Birdies. We talk golf..a lot of golf. We cover his prolific USGA win streak in 2007 and how turning away from golf professionally has led him to chasin’ birdies off the course. If you like golf and are a fan of good stories, this episode is right up your alley. Tune in! Colt Knost is well known in the golf world. Whether it’s because he played on Tour or co-hosts one of the most well known golf podcasts, Subpar, if you’re into golf, you know of Colt. We are excited to have Colt on this episode of Chasin’ Birdies. We open up the show talking about his collegiate career at SMU. In 2007, Colt won the US Amatuer, US Amatuer Public Links, and won the Walker Cup. Only two others have accomplished this feat before. We talk about golf and the current day requirements it takes to be a competitive Tour player. Colt reveals some good stories from his days on Tour and why he gracefully walked away from the game professionally in 2020. His connections, though, led him to a deal with Sirius XM which he parlayed into the podcast world with the Subpar podcast. Colt elaborates on this venture and is still very enthusiastic about it to this day. As we continue through the show, we cover topics such as gambling on the course, Member-Guest tournaments, and much more. Other than your golf swing, the second most important aspect about golf is how you look. That’s no problem for Stephen Malbon, founder of Malbon Golf, a golf clothing/lifestyle company. Stephen has used his past relationships to help he and his wife, Erica, build the brand into what it’s become today. With trendy looks and unique partnerships, Malbon has positioned itself as one of the better known golf apparel companies in existence. Check out this interview with Stephen Malbon as he discusses his journey in life and how he keeps striving to grow and challenge himself both on and off the course. We are happy to have Mr. Stephen Malbon on today’s episode of Chasin’ Birdies. Founder of Malbon Golf, his vision and execution has landed him in a top spot within the golf apparel world. If you haven’t yet, check out Malbon Golf right now! As we open up the interview, we learn that Stephen is actually on the golf course chasin’ birdies while doing this interview. We ask Stephen some basic questions about his upbringing and how he got into the clothing industry. His love for golf started at a young age while growing up on a hog farm in Virginia Beach. We ask Stephen where his inspiration for his company has come from and how he used his past interests in art and sculpting to land himself a role as an Art Director at age 20. While he was learning a lot on the job, he launched a publication called Frank151 pre-internet which was a physical magazine that worked with thousands of artists. All of this bundled together helped him launch Malbon Golf. We turn the tables and ask how he stays on par with his ever evolving ideas. Using social media such as Instagram keeps the pressure on with respect to what he needs to do, what he should do, and how that turns into creating more work. He likens owning or starting a business to being madly in love with a person who others may say isn’t a ‘fit’ for you. After Stephen strikes a 4-iron down the center of the fairway, we continue talking about golf, business, and other activities that he enjoys. It’s apparent his relationship with his son, Remington. We end the show with our standard Tap-In Segment where we ask Stephen a few questions that demand his quick witted response. This interview with Stephen was not only fun but very informative. Keep chasin’ your dreams out there, people. We hope you enjoyed this episode of Chasin’ Birdies! Key Links: Visit hbgolf.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies. Josh Mirenda, a ‘hit’ songwriter/artist hailing from Nashville, joins Chasin’ Birdies for this fun filled interview about his life, his career, and his love for golf. Mirenda co-wrote hits for Jason Aldean and Dierks Bentley, the latter propelling “Somewhere On A Beach” to an instant hit status. He’s turned his attention to himself and his music career with his new single, “Til The Neons Gone”, while still finding time to hit the course and throw back a few cold ones. Be sure to tune in and hear another excellent episode with Josh, Pepe, and Bash on Chasin’ Birdies. Chasin’ Birdies is proud to bring another episode to YOU with a country music star/golfer/good human, Josh Mirenda. The episode was filmed at Nemacolin Resort and was recorded IMMEDIATELY after the three of us pegged it up. A few drinks were enjoyed by all. We open up the show braggin’ on Josh and his three (3) number 1 hit songs he wrote with the most well known one being “Somewhere On A Beach” (cut by Dierks Bentley). He tells a little about writing that song, how it became a number 1 hit and how it has changed his life..literally. The boys had a wild night in the cigar bar the night before so we relish in the memories of good cigars and fine red wine. We transition over to some golf talk and how Josh got into golf. He took what his Grandfather said to heart and said “hell with it, lets golf”. So with that, he is hooked. All walks of life can come together on the golf course. Take that to heart! Josh is also an Entrepreneur. Aside from music, he has a stake in a Tequila company called “Black Sheep Tequila”. If you haven’t had it, you should. After talking about golf..and music, we end the show with our standard Tap-In Segment. We ask Josh some good questions and end the show with a bang..another cut of an artist singing. Be sure to check out Josh Mirenda on all social handles and peep his new single, Til The Neons Gone. As always, thank you for listening. We appreciate the love. Colt Ford is more than a musician. Former pro golfer, Entrepreneur, and a recording are just a few of the feathers in his cap. He carved out some time with his busy schedule to join us for an in-person interview on Chasin’ Birdies. We dive into the beginning of his music career, his love for golf, and why he loves seeing other people succeed. We also get a quick take of him singing a few lines from “Dirt Road Anthem”, arguably the most well known song he’s written. Tune in and don’t miss this one..you won’t regret listening, we promise. Colt Ford joins us on Chasin’ Birdies for this spectacular in-person interview filmed at Nemacolin Resort (thank you, Nemacolin). If you’re into country music, you definitely know about Colt. His catchy songs with ‘rap’ style verses makes him one of the most unique artists in Nashville. He’s also a former pro-golfer (All American at Georgia). His love for golf and life is shown throughout this whole interview. We open up the episode talking about how Colt and Bash are 0-1 against Josh Mirenda and Pepe. The pre-interview round of golf lived up to the hype but warrants a rematch. We dive into how he got the name “Colt Ford” and the rest is history. His first single dropped at 38 years old but he’s been grinding on music his whole life. We talk more about golf and what it takes to make it to the next level. Even after grinding, you still aren’t guaranteed a spot on the Tour. Colt talks about the ups and downs you deal with on the mini tour just trying to make a living. We ask Colt what the difference is between John Daly and Bash, besides height? It becomes pure dedication and even then, no guarantees. We switch over to some music talk by asking Colt how “Dirt Road Anthem” came to be. He and Brantley Gilbert wrote this song which became Jason Aldean’s biggest single to date…and it only took 30 minutes to write. Colt tells more stories about music and his life on the road. His quick witted one-liners occur throughout the entire episode. We end the show with our standard Tap-In Segment presented by Bettinardi Golf. We ask Colt questions that require his quick reply. We also get to hear Colt sing a line from “Dirt Road Anthem”. This. Episode.Rocks. Tell your friends, share, and like. We hope you enjoyed this one as much as we enjoyed recording it. If you’re a golfer who owns a TV or has the internet, odds are you know who Matt Ginella is. Former GOLF Channel contributor and golf enthusiast, Matt joins us for this episode full of golf talk. As he manages his busy schedule between running his podcast,The Fire Pit, as well as the Fire Pit Collective, we carve out an hour of Matt’s time to understand his motive and passion behind his love for the game of golf. With some great stories to go along, this episode is one that will keep your attention from start to finish! Our 26th episode of Chasin’ Birdies and no better guest to have than Matt Ginella. The episode opens up with us talking about our love for the Ashworth family. Matt is close with Mr. John himself and we too have close ties to the Ashworth family. Much love. We ask Matt about his podcast, The Fire Pit, and what he’s doing with this venture. He explains how the podcast has now turned into a full multimedia company and what they’re trying to achieve. Matt’s dream job was to be the play-by-play announcer for the San Diego Padres. A turn of events and a love for writing landed him an internship with Sports Illustrated which led to a full-time job as a junior photo editor. In 1998 while with SI, he hired a pilot to take photos of the final round of The Masters which almost barred him from ever stepping foot on the course again. Over time, Matt wound up working for the GOLF Channel and co-hosted The Morning Drive. We ask Matt about his one-on-one time he had with Arnold Palmer in Latrobe, PA. The story he tells is direct from The King’s mouth and is one you will want to hear. We talk more golf and why it’s more meaningful to be with good people at good courses rather than beating yourself up to shoot a certain score. Golf is an adventure and we often forget it! We wrap up the show with our standard Tap-In segment where we ask Matt certain questions that generally require a quick response, but with Matt, his passion shows and we get some extra love. Matt Stell, country artist whose song “Prayed For You” went viral, joins Chasin’ Birdies in a recording from Nashville. We cover the ins and outs of his music career as well as his love for golf. We talk about Bluejack National and some experience we all had at this gem of a course. Ladies, take note, Matt is currently single and living the life in Tennessee. Check out this fun episode for some laughs and good banter between us all! We are hitting this country music scene hard. On today’s episode, we interview Matt Stell. Not only is Matt a successful country artist / songwriter, but he has a slight addiction to..golf. And by the way, extra-long clubs would go a long way for Matt. We open the episode up and talk about his early career. It comes as no surprise that Matt once strolled the courts as a well rounded basketball player. While in college, he picked up a guitar and started writing songs. The rest is history. Matt compares writing good songs to someone trying to get through on the PGA Tour. It takes time and dedication. After some more music talk, Matt explains that his favorite course to play is Bluejack National in Houston, TX. People..we’ve played Bluejack..it’s amazing. We tell a brief story about our one night at Bluejack and what Bash found in the freezer. We send a shout out to our boy Colt Ford and Bash drops a little something for Jana Kramer. We transition over to some more golf talk and how good Pinehurst really is. Speaking of Pinehurst, how about a Duck Hook? Although Chasin' Birdies is currently in a partnership with Links Brewing, at the time of recording, we were all about duck hooks and spotted cows (these are both beers). Take advice from Matt..shoot your shot. His favorite people in the world are those who put effort into life. The show ends with our typical tap-in segment where Pepe asks Matt some questions that require his quick response. This episode is gold. Please listen, share, and comment. His most known claim to fame is that he worked directly for Mr. Ben Hogan. We dive into many topics of discussion covering the golf world. Join us for this episode where we talk golf and hear some stories from Kelly on what it was like working for Mr. Hogan. If you’re an old-school golf junkie, this episode is right up your alley! Golf is a game that connects us. Whether it’s a scratch golfer playing with a hack or a business deal playing with 3 random people, golf always has a way to humble and unite. Although our guest today doesn’t play on tour or shoot 65’s regularly, he is a well known figure in the golf world. Kelly O’Donnell joins us on this episode of Chasin’ Birdies to talk life and golf. He is the current Director of Golf at Nemacolin Resort which is located in Farmington, PA. This is a far cry from where he previously lived in Texas. We open the show with just some basic talk about the golf industry. We all agree that golf is growing and it’s headed in the right direction due to the strong desire that exists for golf. We talk about the new renovations to Mystic Rock, one of two championship golf courses at Nemacolin. Kelly has been in the industry a long time and had an opportunity to work under Mr. Ben Hogan. We get into some deep Hogan stories and what it was like being under his guidance. Last week we had a jeweler on the show..and this week we learn that Mr. Hogan called his irons “jewelry”. Kelly was responsible for facilitating autograph signings by Mr. Hogan. Now that’s good stuff. We transition the show over to our standard tap-in segment. We ask Kelly several questions that require his quick witted answer. We all now know that Kelly loves his Angels Envy. It’s not always the ‘celebrity’ guest that’s chasin’ birdies in life. Look around your circle of friends and we bet you can name a few who are passionate and driven in their career. We drop this banter sesh with our closest friend, Brandon Katzeff, who runs a jewelry wholesale business as well as his main retail operation, Joyce’s Jewelry based in Uniontown, PA. Given the comfortability between the three of us, this episode has its serious side but also some friendly banter between the three amigos..especially when it comes to golf talk. We love bringing you fun filled episodes from people who are doing things in life whether it’s people you know or don’t know. This banter sesh is just that. For many, you may not know who Brandon Katzeff is. For others, you’ve seen him around the area playing golf, smoking cigars, being a dad, and potentially three putting. Bkatz joins us on Chasin’ Birdies to not only discuss his love for golf but his passion for his businesses. It always seems like wherever we go, he goes. So it seemed fitting to drop this extra episode and let our best friend tell his story. While holding back some tears, Brandon dives into his story of success and how he came into the business owner he is today. Running two successful businesses, a loyal husband, AND a father of two takes away from the golf course..however he finds a way to squeeze in more golf than the head pro at a local muni. Ironically, he turns the interview on us and asks us some questions. We get to tell our side of Chasin’ Birdies and how we’ve grown to become the podcast we are today. And we’re just getting started. We end the episode with our standard Tap-In segment where Pepe fires off questions that require his quick response. After this episode, you’ll understand why some refer to us as the “Three Amigos”. It’s October..which pairs well with football. Former Georgia QB Aaron Murray joins us on Chasin’ Birdies to talk all things football, past and present, and his new found love for chasing birdies on the course. Hear from the former Bulldog (current CBS Sports Analyst) discuss his football career, post-college career, and why he feels confident with his driver on any given hole. Tune in to this episode of Chasin’ Birdies to hear more from Aaron..especially if you’re a football nut. Did ya know? Aaron Murray leads the SEC in all-time touchdown passes. Yeah..that’s what we said. We get to talk with Aaron on this episode of Chasin’ Birdies not just about his amazing college career but his post-football pursuit for birdies. We open up the episode with Aaron discussing his four year starting role at the University of Georgia. Ironically, as this episode drops, Georgia is currently #1 in the College Football Rankings. Now that’s Chasin’ Birdies. He committed to Georgia while Matthew Stafford was the starting QB. He explains why his redshirt Freshman year was great for his career. With his dedicated work ethic, Aaron became the leader on the Bulldog’s offense and has more touchdown passes than any other SEC QB (including the Manning brothers). After a small stint in the NFL, Aaron retired to the broadcast booth where he currently serves as a college football analyst for CBS Sports. The show transitions over to current college players and how they’re able to make money off advertisements. We talk more about football and how he handles his schedule during the week. Aaron travels with his sticks wherever he goes. We talk golf and how he became addicted to the game. A little on-air lesson occurs when Aaron sends a video of his swing during the episode. Believe it or not folks, his setup is on point. We suggested a little more knee flex. Phil Bourque wasn’t just a part of the Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup run in the 90s; He crafted a way to get his name on the inside of the cup, too. Now, as he transitioned into radio broadcasting for the Pittsburgh Penguins, he can’t get enough of golf in his veins. We talk to Phil about his NHL career and how his pursuit for birdies on the course is holding up. It’s not often you get to hear from a guy with 5 Stanley Cup Rings (2 as a player, 3 as a radio announcer). Don’t miss this episode of Chasin’ Birdies! 5 Stanley Cup Rings is pretty good, eh? That’s exactly what our guest, Phil Bourque, has. Undrafted and signed by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1982, Phil knows a thing or two about chasin’ birdies in life as well as on the golf course. We interviewed Phil at the Dirty Dog Cigar Shoppe in McKeesport, PA. Naturally, Phil and Mr. Pepe can’t get enough of their cigars. The episode opens with Phil explaining what it was like being undrafted and coming to Pittsburgh, a pure hockey city. Phil tells a lot of stories regarding their two year cup run from 1990-1992. We all know there are the names sketched on the outside of the Stanley Cup, but what about on the inside? After being responsible for housing the Cup, we get to hear the story of how his name was sketched on the INSIDE of the Stanley Cup. This is gold. The show progresses into golf talk and why golfing is one of his favorite things to do. He has 5 reasons for why he loves golf..and golf itself is last. We transition to our final segment, the tap-in segment, where Phil is asked four questions that require his quick, witty response. For you hockey and golf lovers out there, we guarantee you will enjoy this fun episode. Truly an uncensored hour with Phil Bourque. A hometown hero in Pittsburgh, Neil Walker was ‘the Pittsburgh kid’. In 2015, he turned the first 4-5-4 triple play in Major League history. After Pittsburgh, Neil played for the Mets, Yankees, Brewers, Miami, and finally retired after a short stint in Philly. This episode was recorded at Nemacolin Resort in Farmington, PA. The Chasin’ Birdies boys played Neil and Eric in a two-man best ball format before recording this episode. We open up the talk with how he adjusted after just being drafted into the big leagues. He admits that it was a hard transition but eventually got easier. Neil bounced around from various positions until he finally realized he was best at 2nd base. One perk for Neil was being able to peg it up during Spring Training or while on the road. This is where his love for golf started to blossom. After more baseball talk coupled with life talk, we turn the tables and fire in our tap-in segment. Neil tells a story about Roberto Clemente that will leave chills all over your body. Here at Chasin’ Birdies we tend to feel that we’re constantly pushing our brand to bring on guests from all walks of life. This week, we don’t have a hockey player, or an NHL referee, or even a country singer. Instead, Shep Rose, Bravo TV Star, joins us on this week’s episode to talk more than just golf. We open the episode up with us learning (and you, too) that Shep is off to Alaska for a fishing trip. Boozing and fishing in Alaska sounds like a dream, and for Shep, he’s living it. Close encounters with Grizzly Bears seems to be quite alright with Shep. We turn the page and talk golf. How he got involved in golf and what his golf schedule is like while balancing his jammed pack schedule. At 6’4, he had to go through a few swing changes to get his game back on track. We talk to Shep about his experience at the BMW Celebrity Golf Tournament that he played in with Max Homa..which he didn’t know who the hell that was. He rubs elbows with Aaron Rodgers and is still owed lasagna from Max for draining a putt. After some more golf talk / stories, we turn the page to our final segment of the show, the Tap-In Segment. We ask Shep a few questions that require his witty response. This episode is full of laughs and is one you will definitely want to tune into! Chasin’ Birdies feels the positive effects of having NHL guys on the podcast. The trend continues this week with former Ranger, Lightning, and Olympian Ryan Callahan. Callahan represented Team USA in the 2010 Olympics. He also was the big “C” in New York where is from originally. The episode opens with Ryan explaining how he was drafted into the NHL and what it meant to him being a Ranger. After his stint in NY, he was traded to Tampa Bay. We discuss his time in TB where he played with some big names. We ask Ryan what he felt when selected for Team USA in the Olympics. We twist this episode from hockey talk straight to golf talk. Of course, we got to talk a little member-guest talk. Like us all, he enjoys the course with his friends and sometimes he can’t drink enough while on the course. We turn the episode to our standard tap-in segment where we fire off a set of questions that will require Ryan’s tailored response. Every now and then we like to drop an episode where it’s just us being...well, us. For those of you that know us personally, we tend to constantly be on the ‘shit talking’ game. It’s all in love, though. It’s been 3 months since we’ve released a banter session and with our golf games in shambles, we felt it was appropriate to drop one. We talk about golf and some stories we’ve recently encountered while playing. Whether it was the West Virginia State Amateur or the Youghiogheny CC Member-Guest, the boys are feeling the effects of ‘bad’ golf. We incorporate a new segment of our show into this episode with Spade, a pro handicapper / gambler. Allow us to introduce you to Spade’s Corner where we will phone Spade and talk sports betting for all you addicts. ‘Tis the season for football and what better way to introduce the season with some opening line talk via Spade. Light hearted, humourous, and entertaining episode that will surely keep your attention and have you laughing at the same time. Keep chasin’! The putter is arguably the most needed, most hated, and sometimes the most loved club in the bag. If making more putts confidently translates to lower scores and finding that putter was as easy as buying a Bettinardi putter, wouldn’t you do it? Sam Bettinardi, who at a young age runs the show at Bettinardi Golf, joins us for this fantastic in-person episode to discuss life at Bettinardi and all other things golf. This episode was recorded at Bettinardi’s HQ just outside of Chicago. The show opens up with us discussing the beginning stages of Bettinardi Golf and how his Father, Bob, started the company. We segway into all the unique aspects the company offers including their headcovers, limited product launch, and how they evolved into the powerhouse company that they are today. We talk golf..lots of golf. This company is more than just a putter manufacturer and that is evidenced through this interview. After listening to Sam talk, you’ll be a fan of Bettinardi especially if you’re looking to lower your score on the course. We round out the interview with our standard tap-in segment where Sam is asked questions that require his swift answer. A fun filled, light hearted interview that will pique your interest and hopefully will lead you to buying a new putter. Duck Commander and Reality TV Star Willie Robertson sits down with Chasin’ Birdies to discuss a bit about his life and how his love for golf keeps him chasin’ those birdies. We open the episode up by asking Willie a few questions about how he got into the business world and what he’s currently working on now. Being an avid outdoorsman, Willie is a man’s man. His faith based foundation and solidness as a human resonates throughout this episode. We turn the chapter to his smoking abilities (meats, not cigarettes). As golfers, we aren’t familiar with smoking meat so we thought this was a justified topic for discussion! As we turn the page again we talk about golf and all the courses Willie has played as well as missing a 9-inch putt. Pepe had the pleasure of playing with Willie at nemacolin where he almost killed Pepe with an errant shot. We wrap the show up with our standard tap-in segment and we think this is our best tap-in segment yet. Enjoy this fun episode while you’re on the course, in the car, or in the air! Dr. Bob Rotella, who authored ‘Golf Is Not A Game Of Perfect’, joins us on this episode of Chasin’ Birdies to discuss the mental perspective of sports psychology. Doc explains how he got into the sports world and how his work eventually met the game of golf. We talk about the practices he teaches along with the golfers and athletes he has had the chance to work with. Doc is a big proponent of believing you can whether it’s on the course or in the business world. He has worked with coaches and CEOs to help foster a better winning environment. The episode includes talk of PGA Tour players he has worked with including Rory, Justin Thomas, Jim Furyk, and Curtiss Strange to name a few. He draws correlation to the amateur golfer playing for nothing, literally nothing, relative to a PGA Tour player who has just played for $2 million. Doc reveals that pressure is created in our OWN minds and how we control the pressure is ultimately led by your mental state of mind. This episode of Chasin’ Birdies is one of the more unique episodes and will be sure to keep your interest level high. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we enjoyed interviewing Dr. Bob. The show opens up with Jonathan and Ryan recapping their epic win at the Pikewood National Member-Guest last month. It was a big deal for the boys especially since winning a member guest as scratch golfers is a difficult task. They overcame the shootout and took down the tournament with a birdie, birdie, birdie finish. That’s chasin’. And our guest, Annika Sorenstam, is also known for chasin’ birdies. Annika Sorenstam is one of the most famous golfers to ever play the game. She’s not only won 72 times on tour but in total has tallied up 94 wins on tour. Impressive to say the least. Annika sits down with Chasin’ Birdies to discuss her love for golf. This episode opens up with her explaining the mood when she made eight, yes EIGHT, straight birdies to go on and shoot 59 in a tournament. She also played in a PGA Tour Event at Colonial in 2003. We ask Annika what her practice routine looks like, how she views women’s golf in today’s world, and what it felt like to tee it up again in a tournament after a twelve year hiatus. The episode ends with the tap-in segment which is brought to you by Bettinardi Golf. Tune in to this episode to hear from one of the greatest golfers to EVER play the game. Everyone has the ‘best’ Member Guest. However, the best Member Guest in the USA occurs at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, WV. Jonathan and Ryan are contenders every year but can’t bring home the W. The interview takes place after a pre tournament 9 hole scramble with Jonathan and Ryan and their 4 other friends. Naturally, Jonathan and Ryan win the scramble but the banter and shit talking carries over to the RV where the boys interview their friends on how they feel heading into the tournament. This episode is unlike others in that its in-person and not a ‘serious’ interview..however it is serious to some. Join in for another great episode of Chasin’ Birdies. Working in the golf business is no easy venture. Becoming close to the most well known wedge maker and training under his teachings? It almost seems too good to be true. That wasn’t the case for Aaron Dill who is the successor to Bob Vokey at Titleist. Aaron is known for his ability to dissect a situation and make recommendations to the player WITHOUT having to see the swing. Aaron fits the likes of Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Brooks Koepka. Pretty good lineup, eh? We talk to Aaron about his weekly routine while on tour and what some of these players are using from a wedge perspective. We also dive into how often the amateur golfer should change their wedges (more than you know) and why this can benefit you as a player. The show ends with the usual tap-in segment where Aaron is asked 4 questions that require his swift reply. Key Links: Visit hbgolf.com for great golf apparel now repped by Chasin’ Birdies. Being a rookie in the NFL is hard enough. Walking into the locker room for the Pittsburgh Steelers will add an element of intimidation that only a few will ever realize. This wasn’t the case for Merril. He took his opportunity head on and went on to be a key to the Steelers success in the late 80’s and early 90’s. After finishing his career in Chicago, Merril discusses how he came into the television scene and why his innate mindset to “find a way” helped him get to where he is today. One thing that can’t be questioned: the mental abuse golf inflicts on anyone. There is no discrimination. Merril discusses his love for golf and the time he played with The King (Arnold Palmer) in a golf event where Merril was filling in for a fellow teammate. Have you ever wondered why professionals from other sports consider golf one of their favorite hobbies? What about the country singer who squeezes in 18 before their show? What’s the common denominator that exists between the amateur golfer and Steph Curry? You guessed it: it’s the love/hate relationship that exists towards the game of golf. It’s the desire to come back to perfect a game that can’t be perfected. I’m Ryan Bashour. My co-host Jonathan Pepe and I are avid golfers who are lucky enough to have relationships with professionals in other realms, from the NHL to the country music scene. Each of our guests is absolutely crazy about the game of golf, and boy do they have some fun stories to share. We’re excited to bring you those conversations on our podcast, Chasin’ Birdies. Every other week, we’ll sit down with a guest and dive into why they’re addicted to golf and what keeps them coming back for more. Each episode will be light-hearted and filled with fun stories that are guaranteed to keep your attention while you’re working out or driving that long drive. I hope you’ll check us out every other week! And remember, keep chasin’ those birdies, they’re out there somewhere...
