In this thought-provoking episode, Bill Job explores a powerful metaphor: just as ALS disconnects the brain from the body, many believers live disconnected from the Head — Jesus Himself.Bill shares why hearing God’s voice is not reserved for a spiritual elite, but is meant to be a normal part of everyday life. From practical stories about daily decisions to deeper reflections on identity, shame, joy, and intimacy with God, this conversation challenges religious mindsets and invites listeners into a more relational walk with Jesus.Together, Bill and Gea discuss:What “Spiritual ALS” means for the ChurchWhy many believers struggle to hear God’s voiceThe difference between conviction and condemnationHow church culture and shame can block intimacy with GodLearning to recognize God’s “accent”Living with joy in ordinary daily lifeWhy following Jesus should feel more relational than religiousThis episode is both deeply practical and spiritually refreshing — especially for anyone longing to experience a closer, more natural relationship with God.📌 In the next episode, Bill will discuss what happens when we think we heard God… but things turn out differently than expected.👉 Subscribe for more conversations on hearing God, Kingdom living, business, life, and faith.#HearingGod #KingdomLiving #ChristianPodcast #BillJob #FaithAndWork #IntimacyWithGod #SpiritualGrowth #KingdomKeys

It’s about:Seeing the gold in people. Building something that is both social and profitableChoosing joy—even in difficult seasonsAnd discovering how God can use your natural talents for a bigger purpose💡 Key takeaway: You don’t have to separate business and mission. What does it mean to be sustained by God?After a 58-day fast, Bill shares, “The Lord has been feeding me. This wasn’t about willpower or heroics—Jesus is the hero.”In this episode, Bill reflects on joyful fasting, abiding in Christ, and how deeper dependence on God brought clarity, peace, and unexpected movement in both business and daily life. What could change if God truly became your source? As promised in the podcast, hereby the link to Boterna >> https://www.boterna.com
In this episode, Gea and Bill explore fasting in a business context as a way of seeking spiritual breakthrough rather than mere self-discipline. Bill shares how he first learned fasting after feeling rebuked for prioritizing an all-night hobby project over all-night prayer with employees. He then completed a six-month rhythm of weekday fasting and overnight Friday prayer, finding the body adapts and fasting becomes a “tool” for intimacy with God. Bill recounts a later 40+ day fast in China, connected to repentance for ancestors’ involvement in the opium trade, during which he felt sustained and did not lose weight. Now on day 40 of another fast, he’s pressing for resolution in two struggling companies, emphasizing relational “investments,” joy, worship, and spiritual warfare over blaming people.
In this podcast episode, Gea and Bill discuss how to thrive amid adversity, especially when opposition comes from people rather than circumstances. Using Psalm 23, Bill reframes faith as life within a kingdom at war, not a place of constant peace. He explains how misunderstanding this leads to discouragement and self-blame. Through vivid stories from his work in China, including threats to his family and betrayal by colleagues, Bill shows how fear, judgment, and anger can trap believers. Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Bill emphasizes obeying Jesus’ commands—loving enemies, releasing judgment, and trusting God as defender. True thriving, he concludes, comes through obedience, surrender, and remaining where God has placed us, even in conflict
This episode explores how best practices and spiritual insight can work together rather than compete. Bill shares stories from business, while Gea shares from her role as leader of Business as Mission (BAM) Netherlands, how prayer, prophetic insight, and “God downloads” strengthen rational thinking, practical systems, innovation, joy, and everyday professional life.
Gea Gort talks with Bill Job about building a kingdom culture in business, where eternal values shape everyday decisions. In this podcast episode, we explore how people can receive practical guidance from God in their everyday work. Bill Job shares that he first noticed unexpected ideas coming to him and later found biblical examples, such as God giving detailed instructions for the tabernacle. He describes experiences in manufacturing, where creative solutions “just appeared” and significantly improved efficiency. Bill believes these ideas are not self-generated but received. Other inventors he knows have also recognized that their innovations came through inspiration rather than personal genius. Bill explains that these insights often come when a person is relaxed, worshiping, or just waking up, when the mind is open. The key is a childlike, trusting relationship with God—working together rather than striving or feeling alone.
In this podcast, Gea and Bill speak with John Cobb, who is the founder of an engineering software company serving U.S. auto dealerships. Passionate about cars and technology, he describes himself as a “visionary Christian technology entrepreneur.” John shares how worldly success had left him empty. He transitioned from a 'religious' Christian to a follower of Christ and how that affects his daily working life. He emphasizes “functionally abiding” in the Lord—inviting God into daily operations, praying with his team, and valuing people over profit. This shift, both the hosts and John agree, is a lifelong process of transformation through Christ.Briefly, John reflects on his participation in the training Kingdom Mindsets for Business, as he joined one of the cohorts Gea and Bill are leading. In this episode, Bill shares his experience of facing life-threatening danger while starting a business in China. He hired a man he trusted from a Bible study, only to discover this person had a dangerous past and threatened his family. This experience reshaped his understanding of discipleship: it’s not just teaching Scripture but modeling obedience, including loving enemies. Bill illustrates this through the “tag team” image, where God fights alongside us. By blessing those who harm us, we release them into God’s hands, gaining freedom and spiritual growth.Training Kingdom Mindsets for Business. Over the past ten years, faith and work have become inseparable for her, but this integration wasn't always the case. Meanwhile, her focus shifted to entrepreneurship, and she founded multiple startups. Her business life thrived, and she lost her connection to Christianity. A pivotal moment came when an investment banker, who was also a pastor, invited her to church, leading to a life-changing return to faith in 2013.She found a church fellowship and connected with other Kingdom-minded businesspeople. She became a board member of Business as Mission (BAM) Netherlands, and she is investing in (BAM) start-ups, especially those with a focus on Africa. In this episode, Matt Wagner continues to share his experiences of integrating ministry and business. Building on his previous story, he elaborates on his journey as a business and church leader. Matt refers to the five-fold ministry model, which links the church’s structure to the human body, and how the five gifts from Ephesians 4—apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, and evangelists—are essential for a healthy church. This framework also applies to business, where Matt and Bill see a similar need for the various gifts to function within companies. Matt shares how these principles can lead to a more significant impact when business leaders and pastors collaborate, moving away from competition and towards mutual support for God's kingdom. Both Bill and Matt advocate for a servant-leader mindset, where both pastors and business leaders work together in humility, focusing on shared goals and mutual respect, instead of ego. Matt and Gea refer to the global ministry SEAPC as an example where they have seen this modeled. The conversation ends with an optimistic view on the growing shift towards integrating faith into daily work life, with increasing momentum worldwide. Matt Wagner believes that the future of ministry involves blending the realms of church and business to fulfill God’s calling in new and transformative ways. He shares his journey of learning to embrace both his talents in church leadership and business entrepreneurship. Matt felt a calling to plant churches early in life, but church planting proved financially difficult, leading him to venture into business. He started a roofing company, which grew rapidly. Eventually, he expanded into custom home building. It was a busy life, and he felt the disconnect between the church and the business world. Yet he felt God wouldn’t let him stop the business and grew in his conviction that God doesn’t want a divide between church and business. Instead that they should join hands in building God’s Kingdom. In the next episode with Matt, he will address some of the things needed for this to happen.Training Kingdom Mindsets for BusinessJoin the May cohort and follow the ten-weeks online training 'Kingdom Mindsets for Business' hosted by Bill and Gea! In this conversation, Bart shares how Coolblue was launched in 1999, starting with selling MP3 players online. With a strong emphasis on excellent service and delighting customers, Coolblue became a highly recognized brand across the Netherlands. After 15 years, Bart yearned for more adventure and deeper alignment with God’s guidance. Bart then founded Royalis Investments with Maurits Roose, focusing on Christian entrepreneurs as they see them as potential modern-day pastors who can offer mentorship and guidance to their employees as well as to broader society. Bart wants to support those entrepreneurs with finances, leadership advice, and spiritual encouragement. While encouraging them to pursue impactful goals that extend beyond their lifetimes. Bill Job affirms Bart’s approach, reflecting on his own experiences in China where building a strong, collaborative team led to long-term influence. Together, they urge entrepreneurs to foster supportive communities, celebrate successes, and seek God’s direction. Listeners are invited to join the upcoming Kingdom-focused training, encouraging listeners to keep integrating faith and business pursuits for significant, enduring Kingdom impact.
In this episode, Gea, Bill and Mats Tunehag (Chairman of BAM Global) discuss the concept of Business as Mission and the realities of being “wounded healers” in the marketplace. Mats emphasizes that personal struggles, whether betrayals or depression, are not disqualifiers but part of a deeper process of transformation. He refers to the Japanese art form kintsugi—repairing broken pottery with gold—to illustrate how God doesn’t merely patch up our wounds but uses them to shape us into something more beautiful and whole. Bill emphasizes that responding to challenges with prayer, forgiveness, and reliance on God leads to unexpected blessings and inner healing.Central to the conversation is the conviction that real Business as Mission arises when we shift from an ego-driven “my story” approach to seeing ourselves as participants in God’s “theodrama.” Mats notes that embracing God’s larger narrative can bring both unpredictability and peace. The notion of “tikkun olam,” or repairing the world, underscores the call for Christ-followers to bring holistic transformation—spiritually and socio-economically—to communities.Throughout the discussion, the speakers stress authenticity, vulnerability, and the power of community support. They encourage others to keep going despite setbacks, trusting that God will work through each person’s unique journey for His greater redemptive purposes.Download here a free copy of Mats Tunehag's booklet 'Wounded Healers in the Marketplace' >>Join Bill and Gea for the online training Kingdom Mindsets for Business, the next cohort will start January 15th, 2025. In this episode, Gea Gort and Bill Job explore the role of imagination in deepening one’s spiritual journey and relationship with God. This included initiating prayer networks among employees, resulting in significant spiritual impact. He also describes reenacting the parable of the Prodigal Son, which profoundly revealed God's overwhelming love for humanity. These imaginative exercises not only deepened his own faith but also impacted others, bringing scriptural truths to life.Gea and Bill encourage listeners to explore how imagination can enrich their connection with God and make faith more vibrant and relational, underscoring that spiritual growth engages the heart and emotions as well as the mind.January 15th, 2025 the next cohort for the training Kingdom Mindsets for Business will start. This episode, titled "Do Not Worry," explores teachings from the Sermon on the Mount, focusing on the idea that Jesus' commands should be viewed as directives rather than suggestions. Bill Job emphasizes that worrying is not just a personal issue but something that displeases God, hindering spiritual growth. He challenges the cultural notion that worry is a sign of responsibility, presenting it instead as a barrier to deeper faith.Bill shares his journey of adopting a kingdom worldview, which shifts focus from a self-centered perspective to one that prioritizes God's Kingdom. He explains that anxiety is not merely an individual struggle but a spiritual matter that affects one's relationship with God and participation in the cosmic battle between good and evil. Bill recounts a story from his time in China, where a friend learned to trust God for provision while imprisoned, drawing strength from the teachings about not worrying. The conversation emphasizes the importance of a three-dimensional worldview, considering God, mankind, and the enemy. Bill uses the story of Job to illustrate that suffering often stems from the larger conflict between God's Kingdom and His opponent. He encourages listeners to adopt a mindset that frustrates the enemy and pleases God, as worry can be used against God’s faithfulness. As the episode progresses, Bill reflects on how his trust in God has grown over time. Initially struggling with small things, he now relies on God’s provision in larger circumstances, confident that God will come through due to His track record of faithfulness.
In this episode, Bill and Gea discuss personal relationships with God, focusing on the importance of communication and listening. They refer to the biblical image of God as a shepherd who knows each sheep by name, as seen in John 10. He highlights the importance of clear guidance from God and our role in listening and obeying. Gea shares her own journey of seeking divine direction during their marriage, which eventually led them to Mercy Ships. They reflect on how divine guidance can often be subtle and integrated into everyday life, rather than being marked by dramatic moments. Bill suggests that keeping an ongoing dialogue with God—rather than reserving communication for specific prayer times—can deepen the connection. Their conversation emphasizes the transformative power of viewing God as a loving figure, encouraging listeners to embrace a continuous, relational dynamic with the divine for personal growth in their spiritual journeys.Training Kingdom Mindsets for Business. They emphasize that God can be practically involved in addressing the challenges faced at work, which can be life-changing. They discuss the importance of not confusing personal desires with divine guidance, urging people to seek clarity from God regarding their desires and actions.Throughout the conversation, Bill shares personal stories about his journey, including how he came to terms with his identity and the implications of being "owned" by God.
