Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: Marriage Counseling Can Backfire

Why Marriage Counseling Can Backfire After Infidelity After betrayal, almost everyone says the same thing: “You two need counseling.” But what if rushing into couples therapy immediately after infidelity is actually making things worse? In this deeply honest and eye-opening episode, Lora Cheadle shares why betrayal is not simply a marriage problem — it’s a nervous system injury, an identity crisis, and a reality-shattering trauma that requires stabilization before relationship repair. Drawing from her own experience recovering after her husband’s multiple affairs, Lora explains why so many betrayed partners leave counseling feeling blamed, overwhelmed, emotionally flooded, or even more disconnected from themselves. She explores the “assumption trap” that infidelity is caused by relationship problems, why traditional couples counseling can unintentionally backfire early on, and what healing-focused support should actually prioritize first. This episode is not anti-therapy and it’s not anti-marriage. It’s a compassionate, trauma-informed conversation about why healing begins with you — your safety, your nervous system, your clarity, and your self-trust. If you’ve been betrayed and feel confused, pressured, dysregulated, or like you’ve completely lost yourself, this episode will help you understand why. Top 3 Takeaways Infidelity is not just a marriage problem. Betrayal shatters your sense of reality, identity, trust, and nervous system safety. Before working on the relationship, the betrayed partner often needs stabilization, orientation, and emotional safety first. Traditional couples counseling can unintentionally backfire early on. When therapy focuses too quickly on “relationship dynamics,” many betrayed partners leave feeling blamed, self-monitoring, emotionally flooded, or pressured to fix the relationship before their own trauma has been addressed. Healing starts with rebuilding yourself — not rushing decisions. Before deciding whether to stay, leave, forgive, reconcile, or rebuild the marriage, it’s essential to regulate the nervous system, reconnect with self-trust, and create clarity from a grounded place instead of survival mode. Favorite Quotes “Infidelity is not a marriage problem. It is an individual’s problem.” “People cheat because they can’t meet their own needs.” “Marriage counseling assumes two regulated adults discussing relationship dynamics.” “Betrayal involves one deeply dysregulated person trying to survive the collapse of their reality.” “It’s not about pretending everything is okay. It’s about rebuilding you and your truth.” “When you’re bleeding out, you stop the blood flow first.” “You don’t need to rush your healing. But you do need LOVE THE SHOW? Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #670

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #670 is another dynamic session of visionary acoustic improvised music played by The Gaea Star Band featuring Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, double flute, baritone and soprano ukulele, mandolin, acoustic guitar and nylon string guitar, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas, Native drum and djembe. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in the middle of May 2026, today’s show begins with the beautiful summer celebration “Down By The River”, a relaxed stream-of-consciousness tone poem with a peaceful reverie of a vocal by Mariam and “Take Me Down Inside My Soul” is a quiet, reverent song outlined by Mariam’s whispering acoustic guitar and deeply felt vocal, Craig’s throbbing Native drum and gospel piano from Bob. The band performs an energized, evocative take of Mariam’s “Vision Quest” from the eponymous 2016 LP that features Mariam’s dancing marimba braided into a tapestry of grooving congas and minimalist piano. “There’s A Fire Between The Realms Of Light” is a mysterious, swirling folk song led by Mariam’s chiming mandolin and powerful, pagan forest lyric, a rich, epic piece that dances through three separate movements from major to minor like the passage of a summer day into dusk. The band presents a beautiful, emotional reading of Mariam’s “Sail On” from her “Vision Quest” LP that Mariam leads with her nylon string guitar “Leonardo” and the ensemble next takes on Mariam’s “All Life Unfolds”, re-imagined as a minor theme which yields a very different song indeed, from Craig’s heartbeat Native drum to Bob’s completely upended minor interpretations to Mariam’s ad libbed poetry. “Aloha Hey” is a beautiful, bright Hawaiian tune by Mariam appropriately decorated with her delicate soprano ukulele and reggae-based accompaniment from the ensemble and we conclude today’s session with “Let’s Hold Steady”, a deeply felt song with a lovely vocal from Mariam and a bittersweet, evocative musical stage from the ensemble. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #669

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #669 is an hour of inspired, dynamic visionary acoustic improvised music featuring the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, double flute, harmonica, kalimba, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas, djembe and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in mid-May of 2026, today’s show begins with the meditative, beautifully realized “In The Quiet Of The Forest”, an unusual, evocative piece featuring a top-notch vocal from Mariam. “Luminously Shining Bright” is a languid yet powerful minor folk ballad with beautiful chord changes and another inspired vocal and “Oh Golden Light” is a rich, harmonically lush song, weaving Mariam’s precise, soaring vocal with tight, swinging congas, imaginative, ambitious piano and tight, lustrous ukulele work and featuring a fantastical flute coda. “This Is The Way” is a fine, expanded take on the track from Mariam’s “Release” LP built on a rock-solid foundation of throbbing, dramatic Native drum from Craig. “Hold To Your Essence” is a fascinating piece featuring Mariam’s kalimba as the defining instrument around which Bob constructs a rich, complex harmonic framework which, along with Craig’s metronomic congas, support Mariam’s inspired, spacious vocal and Native flute dialogues. “Spiraling Portal” is a mystical, goosebump-inducing eldritch forest song featuring Mariam’s timeless, chiming mandolin, tiptoe-ing, darkling piano and earthy, pulsating congas and “Turn And Face The Wind” grows slowly and patiently from the embers of “Portal” into a lush, shifting, psychedelic, sonically enormous tapestry into which each member of the ensemble interject languid melodic phrases and fade back into the cloth of the piece in turn. We close today’s show with the beautifully played blues “Oh, Let’s All Be Grateful” featuring earthy Native drum, a fine vocal and harmonica conversation from Mariam and inspired fat-fingered piano from Bob. Make Mental Health Matter with Kelli Melissa Reinhardt: Honoring the Fallen, Supporting the Living

Honoring the Fallen, Supporting the Living On this episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show, host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt shares a heartfelt solo episode centered around the true meaning of Memorial Day. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or holiday. It is a day of remembrance for the brave men and women who lost their lives in service to our country. Kelli reflects on the importance of honoring their sacrifice while also recognizing the emotional impact carried by the military members, veterans, and families left behind. For many who made it home, the journey did not end when their service did. Countless active military members and veterans live with grief, trauma, PTSD, survivor’s guilt, and the loss of friends and fellow service members they served beside. Kelli discusses how meaningful support, compassion, connection, and community can truly become life changing for those who may be struggling silently. This episode also highlights simple yet powerful ways civilians can better support veterans, active military members, and military families, even for those who may not openly talk about what they are carrying. From creating safe spaces and meaningful conversations to connecting people with helpful resources and community support, small actions can make a lasting difference. As we honor those who never made it home, we must also remember the families who continue to carry the weight of sacrifice every day. Their stories, grief, resilience, and healing matter too. Join Kelli for this important conversation about remembrance, compassion, mental health, and the power of showing up for those who have served. Paperclips & Periods Podcast with Dr. Emily Cabrera & Katie Krych: Hold Gratitude and Worry at the Same Time

Episode 14: Hold Gratitude and Worry at the Same Time~ Paperclips & Periods Podcast In this episode of Paperclips & Periods, Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP-BC, and Katie Krych, MSN, RN, PMHNP(c), explore what it means to hold gratitude and worry at the same time, especially in seasons where the mind feels full, alert, or overwhelmed. They begin by grounding the conversation in a simple but powerful idea. When anxiety and “what if” thinking take up a lot of mental space, it can become harder to notice what is steady, supportive, and good. Gratitude in this context is not about minimizing fear or pretending everything is fine. Instead, it is about gently widening perspective so that worry and appreciation can coexist without one erasing the other. Throughout the episode, they highlight how gratitude does not need to be profound to matter. It can show up in small, everyday moments such as appreciating a car color that hides dirt more easily, noticing a warm cup of coffee in the morning, or finding a brief pocket of quiet in a busy day. These seemingly small observations can help anchor the nervous system back into the present. From there, the conversation expands into more foundational forms of gratitude, including appreciation for family, friendships, meaningful work, and a supportive social circle. These are often the parts of life that become background noise when stress and worry take center stage, even though they are essential sources of stability and connection. They also discuss how worry naturally narrows attention, why gratitude can feel less accessible during periods of heightened anxiety, and how intentionally noticing both small and meaningful positives can help restore balance. The goal is not to eliminate worry, but to create space for a fuller and more accurate view of lived experience. This episode offers a grounded and realistic approach to gratitude that meets people where they are, especially during emotionally heavy or overstimulated seasons. It closes with a reflective invitation for listeners to identify one small thing and one meaningful thing they can appreciate in the present moment. Paperclips & Periods Podcast with Dr. Emily Cabrera & Katie Krych: Why it can Feel so Difficult for Women to truly Rest

Episode 13: Why it can Feel so Difficult for Women to truly Rest In this episode, Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP-BC and Katie Krych, MSN, RN, PMHNP(c) explore why it can feel so difficult for women to truly rest, even when there is time to do so. While rest is often framed as a simple choice, many women find that the moment they sit down, their minds become more active, running through responsibilities, to-do lists, and unfinished tasks. They discuss how this is not just about being “busy,” but about the constant mental load many women carry. Expectations at home, caregiving roles, work demands, and the pressure to stay productive all contribute to a brain that stays on, even when the body stops. Over time, the nervous system can become used to this constant state of alertness, making stillness feel uncomfortable, unfamiliar, or even guilt-inducing. The belief that rest must be earned can further reinforce this pattern, making it harder to slow down without feeling like something is being neglected. This episode offers a grounded and compassionate perspective, helping listeners understand that difficulty with rest is not a personal failure, but a learned pattern shaped by both environment and biology. It encourages small, realistic shifts, reminding listeners that rest does not have to be perfect to be meaningful. Even brief moments of pause, despite a busy mind, still count. It closes with a simple reflection, inviting listeners to notice one small moment in their day where they allowed themselves to pause, and to begin seeing that as a valid and necessary form of rest. Paperclips & Periods airs on Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network and supports Dual Minds Integrative Psychiatry, promoting emotional well-being and whole-person care. Awakening to True Happiness with David Hoffmeister: The Gift of Being Clueless

The Gift of Being Clueless It’s easy to get stuck in our own heads, thinking we know who we are, which can actually keep us from seeing our true selves. That’s the big takeaway from the amazing movie session we had last weekend as part of the “The Way” series. David’s story, about an obituary agency owner who goes bankrupt, really hit home. He showed us that not knowing what to expect can be a blessing, even if it feels like a curse to those going through it. When the main character lost his obituary agency, he started to question who he was, what he was supposed to do, and what his purpose in life was. Interestingly, that “clueless” feeling is actually the best way to embrace what Jesus has been telling us for over 2,000 years: that we are the Son of God. The movie session also gave David a chance to talk about ownership, the idea that things are scarce, the search for love in idols, and how all that needs to be forgiven. The real issue is judgment, which is why Jesus said that nothing you see really matters in the very first lesson of the ACIM workbook. We weren’t made to judge. While we think we know which situations are good or bad, we’ll keep trying to get the ego’s approval. Why rely on that when God has already made us worthy? These gatherings take place during the first three weekends in April 2026 and include teachings, films, music, panel discussions, and live Q&A sessions with David Hoffmeister. Love By Intuition with Deborah Beauvais: For 28 years, Ellen lived under a wrongful diagnosis...

For 28 years, Ellen lived under a wrongful diagnosis. Today, she speaks to help others find their path to healing. Ellen Lubensky attorney, is a speaker and advocate whose life was transformed by a wrongful psychiatric diagnosis that led to nearly three decades of unnecessary medication and physical decline. After discovering the truth about her misdiagnosis, Ellen made the brave decision to carefully taper off the medications that had been harming her for decades. She has been tapering for 4 years, with approximately two more years remaining in her journey. Alongside her tapering process, Ellen embraced holistic approaches to healing, which have become a cornerstone of her recovery. Today, she speaks publicly to raise awareness about psychiatric misdiagnosis, medication harm, patient advocacy, and the hope of recovery. Ellen’s story resonates with healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, mental health communities, and anyone who has experienced medical misdiagnosis or is seeking inspiration for their own healing journey. Ellen Shares: I have a life story like none other in the universe and a firm calling to share it with intention. I was physically disabled by tardive dyskinesia, a side effect of antipsychotics, for 20 years. At 45, I set firm boundaries with my psychiatrist of 25 years to taper me off antipsychotics. During my taper, which is the process by which you gradually decrease the amount of medication you are taking, I went to neurologically baseline and was able to do all the physical activities I could not do for 20 years. On the last night of my taper, which went way too quickly, I became a complete insomniac. I have been in protracted withdrawal for over three years and am currently withdrawing from benzodiazepines. While I was on antipsychotics, my personality changed and my IQ went down almost 30 points. I currently have severe concentration issues that will prevent me from working in the law for years. However, I can speak publicly about my experiences. Many people have seizures or go to psychosis in withdrawal. My family still has enough money for the best of the best care. I will be setting up a charity to help those without my resources. Follow me on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or TikTok. I am in search of a publicist because I have a message that needs to be heard. https://ellenlubensky.com/https://www.facebook.com/ellen.lubenskyhttps://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Ellen+Lubensky Call In and Chat with Deborah during Live Show: 833-220-1200 or 319-527-2638 Learn more about Deborah here:  www.lovebyintuition.com

Because the truth is, the women who stay stuck the longest after infidelity aren’t the ones who fall apart… They’re the ones who stay kind, capable, and in control. In this powerful episode, Lora Cheadle breaks down the hidden cost of being the “good girl” after betrayal—and how empathy, emotional intelligence, and over-functioning can quietly lead to self-abandonment. Ayla had already earned a full Division 1 basketball scholarship to Boston College before ever stepping foot on American Idol. After appearing on Season 5 of American Idol, she found herself at a crossroads—two powerful paths, one unexpected opportunity. So what did she do? She pivoted. From the court… to the stage… to launching her own record label… to becoming a news host of The Flyover Podcast… to raising two young boys—Ayla has built a life by learning how to use every skill she has. Including one powerful truth she shares in this episode: “You’ve got to learn the skills to pay the bills.” Here’s what you’ll take away from this powerful conversation: How to pivot without losing yourselfWhy your creativity might be your most valuable assetHow to use all your skills—not just one—to build your lifeThe difference between chasing fame… and choosing freedomAnd don’t miss the deeply touching story at the end—when Ayla shares how her dad became her biggest fan, even learning to play guitar just to feel closer to her.Because life isn’t about choosing one path. Make Mental Health Matter with Kelli Melissa Reinhardt: Your Soul’s Blueprint with Jennifer Clair

Your Soul’s Blueprint with Jennifer Clair On this episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show, host Kelli Melissa Reinhardt has special guest Jennifer Clair. Little bit about Jennifer’s story from her: I practice Evolutionary Astrology because it fosters deep self-understanding, validation, and clarity about one’s path. I came to this work because someone believed in me and saw my potential to make a meaningful difference. At the core, I think that’s what many of us are searching for—a sense of purpose that feels aligned, fulfilling, and inspires us to show up each day in service. Astrology wasn’t something I initially chose for myself, but when I allowed it as a possibility, the opportunity unfolded naturally. That experience taught me the importance of staying open to the unexpected and trusting where new paths may lead. When we give ourselves permission to explore beyond self-doubt and indecision, we often discover a direction that feels both meaningful and true. Short bio: Jennifer Clair is an Evolutionary Astrologer dedicated to helping individuals understand their inner landscape and align with their highest potential. Through a grounded, client-centered approach, she translates the language of the natal chart into practical insight that supports personal growth, emotional clarity, and self-awareness. Her work emphasizes astrology as a tool for meaning – offering a deeper sense of direction, purpose, and connection to one’s life path. Jennifer believes that when people understand the “why” behind their experiences, they are better equipped to navigate challenges with resilience and intention. She integrates psychological insight with evolutionary astrology to support mental and emotional well-being in a way that is both empowering and accessible. Through consultations, education, and ongoing support, Jennifer helps clients cultivate a more conscious and compassionate relationship with themselves. Paperclips & Periods Podcast with Dr. Emily Cabrera & Katie Krych: Episode 12: Gratitude

Episode 12: Gratitude even when Worry feels Present and Persistent In this episode, Dr. Emily K. Cabrera, EdD, MSN, CAGS, PMHNP-BC and Katie Krych, MSN, RN, PMHNP(c) explore what it means to notice gratitude even when worry feels present and persistent. When the mind is focused on stress, uncertainty, or “what if” thinking, it becomes easy to overlook the things that are actually supporting us day to day. Gratitude in these moments is not about ignoring worry or pretending everything is fine, but about gently widening perspective so that both concern and appreciation can exist at the same time. This conversation highlights how gratitude does not have to be complicated or profound to be meaningful. Sometimes it looks like appreciating something as simple as the color of your car because it does not show dirt as easily, which makes life feel a little more manageable. It can also look like noticing a warm cup of coffee in the morning, a quiet moment in the car, or a small window of calm during a busy day. From there, they expand into deeper forms of gratitude that often get overlooked during stress, such as appreciation for family, steady friendships, meaningful work, and a supportive social circle. These are the foundational parts of life that can fade into the background when worry takes over attention. They also discuss how worry can narrow focus, why gratitude can feel harder to access during heightened anxiety, and how intentionally noticing small and large blessings can help bring balance back into perspective. The goal is not to eliminate worry, but to create space for both reality and appreciation to coexist. This episode offers a grounded and realistic approach to gratitude that meets people where they are, especially in seasons where the mind feels full and overwhelmed. It closes with a brief reflection to help listeners identify one small and one meaningful thing they can appreciate in the present moment. That Part with Naa Yirenkyi and Verta Maloney: Coming Home to Yourself After Grief and Loss

Coming Home to Yourself After Grief and Loss with Darnese Daniels Season 2 of That Part continues with another question answered by the Black women in our lives: If you could talk about anything on a podcast, what would it be? This episode is Darnese’s answer. Darnese Daniels joins us for a conversation about grief, not just the moment of loss, but what comes after. The part no one really prepares you for. The quiet. The identity shift. The version of you that no longer exists and the one still taking shape. Verta and Naa sit with what it means to come home to yourself after grief and loss. They explore how grief changes the way you move, love, and see the world, and how, for many Black women, that process happens while everything else keeps going. From the pressure to keep holding it all together to the unspoken ways grief reshapes your sense of self, this conversation moves through loss, truth, and the slow work of becoming. Because grief does not just take something from you. It tells the truth about you. And coming home to yourself is not about going back. It is about claiming who you are now. Season 2 continues to bring new voices into the room while staying rooted in what That Part has always been. Real conversation. Cultural truth. And the things we don’t always say out loud. Flaunt! Find Your Sparkle & Create a Life You Love After Infidelity or Betrayal with Lora Cheadle: Your Whole Life Was a Lie

Why Betrayal Makes it Feel Like Your Whole Life Was a Lie What if the most painful part of betrayal isn’t what happened—but what it reveals? In this powerful episode, Lora Cheadle explores why betrayal feels like your whole life was a lie—not because every moment was fake, but because the map you were using to navigate life no longer works. From childhood beliefs about love, goodness, and fairness to the harsh awakening that life isn’t always transactional, this conversation unpacks the deeper grief beneath betrayal: the collapse of your worldview, your identity, and your sense of safety. Through personal stories, grounded insight, and powerful metaphors—from The Matrix to navigating a foreign country without a map—Lora helps you understand why you feel so disoriented… and how to begin building a new reality rooted in truth, self-trust, and clarity. If you’ve ever thought: “I don’t know who I am anymore”“Nothing feels real”“How could I not have seen this?”“What do I do now?” This episode will help you make sense of what you’re feeling—and show you the path forward. Top 3 Takeaways Betrayal doesn’t just break your heart—it breaks your worldview. The deepest pain isn’t just what happened. It’s realizing the rules you believed in—love, loyalty, fairness—don’t guarantee the outcomes you expected. You’re not crazy—you’re disoriented. After betrayal, your mind is trying to make sense of a reality that no longer matches your internal map. That confusion, panic, and second-guessing are normal responses to a shattered belief system.Healing isn’t about going back—it’s about building a new map. The goal isn’t to restore your old life or beliefs. It’s to create a new foundation based on truth, self-trust, and the ability to navigate life as it actually is. Pull Quotes “Betrayal is not just the loss of a relationship. It’s the loss of the belief that life works the way you thought it did.” LOVE THE SHOW? Awakening to True Happiness with David Hoffmeister: Guided by Spirit

"Guided by Spirit: Undoing Judgment Through Trust” In this second movie session from The Way, David uses an inspiring documentary to show how intuition and guidance can lead to a miraculous undoing of judgment. The story of a young boy born in precarious conditions who went on to become a wealthy entrepreneur goes way beyond what the Ego would label as success. His guided path towards that is the demonstration of how the Holy Spirit acts. In a world where the truth is concealed by veils we call reality, we need help to release the illusions that keep us trapped. That help comes through trust. This entrepreneur first trusted his mentor, a man who had connections with the mafia. David warned that, although he also frequently used "purple words" – as a former president of the United States classified his swearing – that was also a veil hiding a precious heart. Judgment is the error. Eventually, guidance led this man to completely change his personal plans. After repeatedly saying he would never marry or move to California, he ended up in Beverly Hills with his wife and kids. That shows how important flexibility is for those willing to accept the Atonement. The fact that he changed so many lives along his way confirms that salvation is not a personal task. It is collective, with mighty companions that the Holy Spirit connects us with all along the way.
