It's the late night hours in October, 1995, when a lone gunman storms into a Roanoke, Virginia home, shoots 21-year-old Eric "Nike" Jones in the chest, and flees. A witness at the home of calls police but cannot provide a helpful description of the suspect, and no physical evidence is collected from the scene. But days later, the same witness is shown a police lineup, and identifies 18-year-old Michael Crump as the shooter. After a short trial, Crump is found guilty and sentenced to nearly 40 years in prison. It's January 13, 1999, when 18-year-old honors student Hae Min Lee disappears after leaving school. Weeks later, her remains are located in the woods of a nearby park. Throughout the year we have highlighted multiple cases involving some of the most notorious serial killers in recent memory: Zodiac, Wayne Williams, Joel Rifkin, Freeway Phantom, and most recently, LISK. It's December, 2010, when police discover the body of a young murdered woman in marshland off Ocean Parkway, Long Island. Over the following months, a total of eleven bodies are found in the area. It becomes clear to investigators that they have a serial killer on their hands. In time all of the victims are identified - except for one. With little evidence to aid in idenification, police dub the body of a young male victim found in women's clothing, "Asian Doe."
