Why listen
The Sword and Laser feels like joining a long-running sci-fi and fantasy book club with two hosts who know the genre but keep the conversation loose, funny, and approachable. Tom Merritt and Veronica Belmont mix monthly read-alongs, spoiler and non-spoiler reactions, genre news, awards chatter, and occasional author interviews. It is a strong fit for readers who want help finding their next speculative fiction book and enjoy fandom conversation more than formal literary criticism.
Episodes
Jan has taken over the show and is exhibiting the personality of the AI from Dungeon Crawler Carl. Veronica hates awards. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Floating Hotel was a great deal, and we really enjoyed it when we checked in. During our stay we met some really interesting folks, and the staff was fabulous.
