This week I wanted to share some thoughts on taking responsibility for our relationships. When we begin to understand things like our unconscious biases, explore the programs we were raised with, and recognize the BS of what we've been taught relationally — we are presented with a choice. We can choose whether or not we want to do the work, sit with the hard stuff, and become the best version of ourselves. Expansion is readily available to us... will you choose it? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
How do you honour transitions? Are you able to sit in the space of expansion? Can you fly off the edge and trust? This week's episode is a personal life update. I share what life has felt like lately, moving cities, and how I've been navigating both change and uncertainty while continuously being called back to the present moment. I think it’s absolutely fascinating that a lot of the things we might be healing today… are not actually ours. You may have heard the words generational trauma, intergenerational trauma and collective trauma before – but what do they mean? How does this impact a person’s relational patterns, expansion, intimacy or growth? I am so excited for you to experience this week’s episode with the brilliant Dr. Mariel Buqué, a Columbia University-trained Psychologist, Intergenerational Trauma expert, and sound bath meditation healer. Her work focuses on the advancement of culturally responsive therapeutic practices that affirm the lived experiences of Black & Indigenous People of Color (BIPOCs). Her clinical work centers on healing wounds of intergenerational trauma, holistic mental wellness, and centering indigenous healing practices. We discuss the ways intergenerational trauma forms, caring for ourselves in a holistic way, healing from emotional wounds and how to transition into a liberated version of Self. Head here to find Dr. Mariel Buqué's work and learn about the the Soul Healing Collective –a community space she created for people to heal together, as she believes in the liberation of both our minds and of oppressive systems as necessary qualities of our collective wellness. Through writing and speaking he aims to support the healing of the individual, knowing that when people release their personal burdens it helps humanity build a global peace. In this episode Diego shares how meditation practice is a profoundly transformative path, and his primary vehicle for growth, healing and freedom. We anchor into how to traverse serious transformation on both an individual and global level. How to dance in nuance, how to practice love in its purest form, and how to deepen our connections rather than our attachments. The name Yung Pueblo means young people; it serves to remind him of his Ecuadorian roots, his experiences in activism, and that the collective of humanity is in the midst of important growth. In this episode join me on my hike as I share my thoughts on the false sense of separation we have with the Earth, the disconnection we have with ourselves, and our worth. The truth is hidden in plain sight, and we can all find it by being present, turning inward and taking radical responsibility for our self worth. We can’t wait for people to choose us. Otherwise we’ll always be waiting, because nobody wants the responsibility of our self worth. We model the love we want by the type of love we give. Make yours unconditional. When you don't stand in the truth of what, you're not going to get what you want - pretty simple right? Whether or not we decide to talk about our truth, it will always still live inside you. Not honouring our truth leads to small betrayals, which usually become giant betrayals later on and typically we can look back and see where we betrayed ourselves initially in order to get there. This week I share a personal story from my past where I self abandoned and didn't declare what I really wanted. The truth always sets us free, no matter how difficult it can be to say it. This week I wanted to share thoughts on something that I feel very passionate about right now - worth. So often we shape-shift and adapt from our true selves in order to feel safe, loved, or even just to prevent rocking the boat. Our worth should live in who we are, not in other people's opinions or validations. Are you ready to give birth to your authentic self? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
