Why listen
Duke Reacts! turns the high-energy YouTube reaction format into short, audio-first music reviews with Alvin Sane riffing on hip-hop, classic rock, comedy songs, viral clips, and deep-cut weirdness. It is best for listeners who like loud, opinionated, personality-driven music commentary that jumps from Busta Rhymes and Frank Zappa to Weird Al, Genesis, Snoop Dogg, and internet parody tracks. The episodes are quick, standalone, and built around the fun of hearing a musician react in real time.
Episodes
Action Bronson, former chef of the NY Mets, got two power hitters on this one, the young wrestler on the block Lil Yachty and the Houston OG Paul Wall of Sittin' Sideways fame. Let's see who comes with it. From Action Bronson's upcoming album Planet Frog
Pair of classic 2011 freestyles from Big Buss, both over beats from Kanye West & JayZ's Watch the Throne album. He more or less jacked those beats, but the results speak for themselves. Enjoy
Will the Real Slim Shady please stand up? This may be the long awaited collab between Eminem and Billie. or it may be LIL BYTE doing another one of his Eminem parodies. You be the judge, enjoy. Sorry the Vimeo screen record software glitched up, this is the best take we could do for now.
Lost AlTV segment from 1999 doing a fake interview with Stephen Tyler of Aerosmith. It was incredibly awkward but that's the point of these. Stephen's responses to Weird Al's questions are spliced together from other interviews.
Parody of "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel, reacting to the latest list of Epstein names as only Rucka Rucka Ali can. This dude Rucka is something else, as always.
Classic 2021 remix of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" by Spinabenz, Yungeen Ace, Whoppa with the Choppa and Fast Money Goon. We chose not to react to this at the time since Duke Dennis of AMP made a reaction video to this under the name Duke Reacts. Even though we are the original Duke Reacts! channel and time stamps prove that, i gave all due respect to my fellow Duke and held off on reacting. Until today.
PRIME Busta, JayZ and DMX, who passed 5 years ago RIP X. Includes a bonus reaction of "C'Mon All My N****az, C'Mon All My Bitches" both off the 2000 Busta Rhymes album Anarchy
From the 50th Anniversary box set of Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart's classic album Bongo Fury (1975) with guest commentary from the man himself.Sorry we glitched up, the internet connection at the studio went out twice during this reaction and I was livid, but luckily thanks to Vimeo's backup feature we were able to salvage it and complete the take.
Selections from Kanye West's acclaimed new album Bully with visuals taken inside a wrestling ring, just an interesting dynamic. I gotta check out the new one if Youtube allows it.
Shout to Sean Evans and Hot Ones for that reference, this performance is hotter than the spiciest sauce. He went insane in this one just a crazy ass dude from the 70s. And yes I think I can handle the Gauntlet. After what my throat has been through that ain't nothing.
That's all off Genesis 1983 self-titled album which was an up and down masterpiece with banger after bloody banger. Just a fantastic record and Phil's vocal on here is really raw and powerful.
Pair of 70s music videos from London band The Stranglers off the No More Heroes album. I sampled this band for the final Alvin Sane album on the song Screaming for More, thought I would share them with my audience. They were one of the rawest and tightest early punk bands to come out of the London scene.
ALL TIME CLASSIC BANGER from Busta Rhymes off the 2001 Genesis album, BREAK YA NECK MV featuring cameos from Ludacris, Dr. Dre and another rapper we won't mention. Just sit back, get your umbrellas out and enjoy the show. It's gonna be a stormy one.
Classic T.I. from 2006 YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS, which they used on Entourage. Back in the day it was banger after banger with this dude. The consensus so far is he's dominating the beef with 50 Cent
Reacting to Lil' Jon mega remix of Get Low (2003) featuring Elephant Man, Busta Rhymes & the Ying Yang Twins. We followed this up with a bonus tease of Elephant Man's solo hit Willie Bounce. Enjoy
This is a song about excess. How well these lyrics have aged is up for debate, but either way we are here for it.The Youtube version of this had to be truncated due to copyright. This is the full uncensored version.
Back by popular demand, reacting to another Sora AI compilation starring rap legend 2Pac Shakur, 30 years gone but still alive more than ever. These guys are just diabolical geniuses with the AI stuff, this is really next level.
Prince's "Face Down" was done in a hip-hop style off the 1996 Emancipation album, notable for being his kiss off record for Warner Bros. To say that he went nuts on the verses for this one was an understatement.
This AI rendering of a song with Diddy, Eminem, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, MGK and others, was sequenced, rendered and performed by an artist named Lil Byte. He came up with an absolutely diabolical and savage take on Diddy, his recent trial and sentencing. EnjoyTRIGGER WARNING: some of the visuals may be upsetting for more sensitive viewers, especially people trying to avoid coverage of the Diddy trial. Thanks to Youtube and Spotify for allowing me to share this reaction with my viewers.
Lil Chano from the 312 is back in the building, Ride off the Star Line album featuring Twista & Do Or Die. This is FLAMES, Chicago to the max.
Rim bum buiddip. You know what time it is it's Tenacious D time you MF. Fire up some Kielbasa sausage, we are taking you to brown town with a Britney Spears classic. Enjoy
Live version of "Honey Don't You Want A Man Like Me" off the Zappa In NY album originally released in 1978. Zappa had several hip-hop style verses on his albums in the 70s. This live version I believe was from his 1984-85 tour, with guest commentary from the artist himself. Enjoy
Netflix gave Snoop Dogg the halftime show at the Christmas Day game between the Vikings and Lions. What he did with it was epic and will be talked about for a long time, maybe even better than the Superbowl halftime show. SNOOOP
Dax came into the new year focused and got some BARS for us over the Snoop & Dre Next Episode instrumental. Love this beat and he did a number on it.
Remix to Coi Leray's 2023 banger "Players" over the beat to Busta Buss' original banger "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See" from 1997. Who came hotter, who won, who's next?
By popular demand reacting to two AC/DC classics, Girl's Got Rhythm and Sin City, both performed live in 1978-79 with original lead singer Bon Scot
Eminem diss of P Diddy, Andrew Tate and others, produced and arranged and sequenced by the artist known as Lil Byte. This is by request, shout to Byte and I'll be sure to do some of your other masterworks.
Reacting to Peter Gabriel's 1986 classic video Big Time, saying some important things about social class and rock stars getting a big head.
My favorite song from the last two Eminem albums the wordplay on this one was insane. Wasn't able to react to it then but we're making up for lost time from 2020.
It's just like Monty Python, these guys are something else entirely. Patrick, Norman and Kev are back for another round of ridiculously dark and hilarious rhymes from the north of England. Plus a bonus tease of "Sexy Train" as remixed by Botchamania. Enjoy
Lil Uzi Vert was part of the Hip-Hop 50 celebration in 2023. But does his music and his content actually live up to the greats of this genre? We finna find out real quick now. New MVs Relevant and a tease of Chanel Boy which was covered extensively on other channels.
Dirty Frank was originally intended for Pearl Jam's 1992 masterpiece Ten, but was left off the record. It was released on the Lost Dogs compilation in 2003, with Eddie's first two verses done in a hip-hop style. Being on Lollapalooza they were exposed to rap acts such as Public Enemy and Ice-T.
Reacting to the latest from Rucka Rucka Ali by request, "A La Who Ack Bar" parody of Lady Gaga's smash "Abracadabra" from the Mayhem album. It is what tf it is and we're here for all of it. This is a warning the reaction is not for sensitive viewers. We do not condone or agree with any of the lyrics presented by Rucka in this parody.
First single off Busta's 2023 masterpiece BlockBusta featuring T-Pain and the nephew of one Rick James, also known as DaBaby. We couldn't react to the video of this due to copyright but we will try the audio
This video dropped in 2008 shortly after the election of Barack Obama, it was meant to be a celebration. Busta Rhymes featuring Akon, Diddy, Ron Browz, Swiss Beatz, and Lil Wayne.
From the 1969 film adaptation of Sweet Charity, the Rhythm of Life has elements of early hip-hop and incredible choreography by Bob Fosse. I was blown away when they showed this scene to me as a kid and thought I'd share it with my viewers.
All hail Queen HVRBY, one of the most underrated lyricists from the last 20 years. She DEMOLISHED this vocal especially on the last verse. The fast part caught me off guard
Your favorite English grandpas are back with a vengeance. "Encore" is one of their hardest tracks yet. We are here for it. And I do mean all of it.
Discover the power of SORA 2 AI by bringing back the legend Michael Jackson. The accuracy of the likeness of MJ is like nothing I've seen thus far. Amazing
BET AWARDS performance by the one and only SNOOP DOGG. Snoop was given the Ultimate Icon award, so he used his performance piece to collab with none other than the L.A. Philharmonic. Now THAT is a feature.
Doja Cat picked the same sample for her album as Big Buss did back in '97 with Turn It up (Fire It Up). SO. We're gonna listen to them BACK to BACK and see who cqme hotter over this beat. Doja or Busta. Enjoy
From 1978, this is Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding's XTC (the band, not the substance), with their debut single Statue of Liberty. Sorry for the audio interference on our end. I unintentionally sampled this record on Alvin Sane's Mental Health Week album, and spit over the bass line for a remix.
From the new album CHEEPER THAN CHEEP, this is the same band that did Montana and Inca Roads, just incredible musicianship
Classic Busta Rhymes & T-Pain "Hustler's Anthem 09" off the Back On My B.S. album by Big Buss. The bass line definitely hits different and we got 3 whole verses from the legend. Let's GO
One of the last truly great Genesis music videos "Jesus He Knows Me" 1991 was a parody of 80s televangelists such as Jimmy Swaggart and Jerry Falwell, off the We Can't Dance album. The instrumentation and hook section to this. is off. And I believe that was a cameo from Emily In Paris as a young girl, please verify in the comments.
Ain't nobody catching strays on this one, but we got Busta Buss on music video about to annhilate everyone with his love of a certain brand of liquor.
Busta Rhymes SPAZZED on this feature. Mrs. Russell Wilson, the Goodies girl Ciara, got the Dragon, the chairman of the Flip Mode board, for a KILLA feature. See if you can top this live big Buss
New video for MGK's two part opus "Outlaw Overture", reacting to this hodgepodge of ideas and video concepts and genres. Enjoy
Parody of "We Built This City" by Jefferson Starship, I've never heard this Rucka song before. It came out fire.
Tyler the Creator's new album DON"T TAP THE GLASS is out NOW, featuring a sample of Busta Rhymes and possibly somebody else.
