In this remastered episode, Laura discusses a significant update in Gabby Petito’s case. On Monday 8th August 2022, almost a year to the date of the Moab City Police stop of Gabby’s white van, Gabby’s mother, Nichole and step-father Jim Schmidt and Gabby’s father, Joe and step-mother Tara Petito filed a notice of intent to sue Moab City Police in Utah. The lawsuit went ahead accusing the Police of “negligent failure” to first understand the law and enforce it. They also accuse Moab City Police of “wrongful death” stating that Gabby’s “death was caused by their wrongful acts or neglect.” They are seeking $50m in damages. The lawsuit was dismissed by Judge Torgerson in 2024. However, it’s not over. The case has been referred to the Utah Supreme Court. For the latest update in the case listen to this episode. 30-year-old Mica Miller, née Francis was found dead from a gunshot wound at Lumber River State Park in Robeson County, North Carolina on April 27, 2024.  Her death occurred just two days after she had served her husband, John Paul Miller, with divorce papers. In December Miller was indicted for cyberstalking and making false statements to federal investigators. On 28 May 2018, Laura Mortimer and her 11-year-old daughter, Ella Dalby were found in a pool of blood at their house in Gloucester. Laura had 18 separate stab wounds, whilst Ella had 24. Laura clearly fought for her life and Ella witnessed some of the attack and bravely came to the help of her mother. Christopher Boon, a man with a history of violence, was arrested for their murders. In this exclusives episode Laura is joined by Jodie Edith, Laura’s sister and Ella’s aunt, to speak out for the first time about events leading up to the horrific double murders. Together they identify the red flags, early warning signs and how women can be helped by family and friends who know what to look for.  Laura also begins unravelling the murder of 21-year-old Libby Squire, Lisa’s daughter, who disappeared following a night out with friends on 31 January 2019 in Kingston upon Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
