[dope therapists + dope conversations] Two brown chicks changing the face of therapy on both sides of the couch.

Why listen

Between Sessions Podcast brings therapy conversations out of the clinical office and into everyday life, with two Black and Brown therapists talking plainly about healing, race, relationships, work stress, self-care, and access to care. The show mixes co-hosted discussion, guest interviews, and occasional live-session style episodes, so listeners get both professional insight and the warmth of a culturally grounded conversation. It is a strong fit for people who want mental health guidance that directly acknowledges Black, Latinx, and broader BIPOC experiences.

In this week’s episode Khaliah Guillory, founder of Nap Bar, sat down to talk to us about the dangers of sleep deprivation and the steps we can begin to take to improve our sleep hygiene & routine. Check out this week’s episode & then go lay down! Session 132: Stop Stressing & Embrace Your Cultural Foods with a Positive Approach to Nutrition

What if the nutrition & wellness standards we pressure ourselves to meet in order to be "healthy" are actually rooted in anti-blackness and white supremacy? How would that impact your approach to health? Maybe you've already experienced this at your yearly physical exam when all your lab work came back normal, but your doctor expressed "concern" that your weight wasn't within the "healthy" BMI range. The solution? Stay away from the cultural foods you were raised on and focus on shrinking your body. This shared experienced amongst many Black/Brown folx can leave us feeling defeated, shamed, and stressed and we struggle to meet standards that don't embrace who we are, where we come from, and what we look like. Rarely are factors like the stress of everyday discrimination, lack of access to food variety, lack of healthcare access, and medical systemic racism are rarely taken into consideration as health threats. In this week's episode, Dalina Soto, Your Latina Nutritionist, breaks down common myths about nutrition and health and shares with us how to begin taking a more positive approach to wellness. You might be surprised how much we have to unlearn. If you're ready to feel more empowered on your health journey then tune in NOW to Session #132: Stop Stressing & Embrace Your Cultural Foods with a Positive Approach to Nutrition.
