Welcome to this episode, and this movement of ageism dismantled. How does it show up? Are you more ageist than you think? A recent solo podcast I did on this topic got a lot of attention. In our own Flipping 50 membership I regularly spot women being ageist in reference to themselves. This episode is about helping change the value of you right now. We’ll define ageism and talk about who does it and where it exists. I hope you look at words like young and old differently after you listen. This episode aims to find ageism dismantled so that if nothing else we can identify it when we see it and potentially find ourselves loving now for the rest of our lives. My Guest: An internationally recognized expert on ageism, Ashton Applewhite is the author of This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism. A co-founder of the Old School Anti-Ageism Clearinghouse, she speaks widely at venues that have included the TED mainstage and the United Nations, and is at the forefront of the emerging movement to raise awareness of ageism and to dismantle it.
