B.L. Da Lyfe (Botney Collins) BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION There is something about a self-made man -- especially in Hip Hop these days where most folks earn their spot based on association. You know, those “Superficial Stars” who are more famous for who they’re signed to, who they’re sleeping with, or who they’re beefing with. Their “Story” is the star. Their music is an afterthought. By contrast, there is a certain respect reserved for those who make a way from no way out; who turn adversity and struggle into the soundtrack of their own triumph, and find a way to weave their life’s joy and growing pains into melodic rhythms that move the masses... We call these folks MCs (Masters of Ceremony), and they are a rarity in today’s world of instant gratification. Born in Muskegon Michigan, as unpretentious and blue collar as it gets, in an era when a man lived or died on his word and his will to survive, BL Da Lyfe is a true MC in every sense of the word.
