Their 2008 debut album “ We Started Nothing ” spawned massive radio hits with “ Shut Up and Let Me Go ” and “ That’s Not My Name .” Now residing in Ibiza, Katie and Jules are about to release their first new album in six years entitled “ Home .” This collection of songs acts as an exploration of yacht-rock balladeers and the Laurel Canyon sound which feels more like a distant cousin of Fleetwood Mac and the Carpenters than the offspring of one of the most well-known indie-pop groups of the past two decades. They join us to talk about the writing and recording process, re-imagining their iconic catalogue, and crowd-surfing a bass drum.
