As is often said, it is not the destination, but the journey that got us there that is the real triumph. Mike embodies that thought! We talked about how masters swimming has helped Mike fill the gap after retiring from professional swimming, and the documentary he was part of about that journey called "Afterlife". Mike passionately promotes "the journey" and what it can teach us as athletes, and he finds himself living these values and life lessons each day, as he coaches, teaches, personal trains, swims and studies. And as Mike shares, "The (swimming) journey is often times the most important part of the whole: our commitment and fight towards purpose defines our soul".
