Serious Concerns: Zack Wheeler is sidelined indefinitely with a blood clot

Everybody understands Zack Wheeler’s importance to the Phillies. He is one of the best pitchers in baseball, a perennial NL Cy Young candidate and, statistically, one of the best pitchers in postseason history. It was a shock on Saturday night to learn that Wheeler has been sidelined indefinitely because of a blood clot near his right shoulder. This is a health issue immensely more important than baseball, but it is a tremendous loss to the team. We discuss Wheeler’s health, and what it might mean for the Phillies moving forward.
