Brett Young joined the baseball staff in the fall of 2021 as an assistant coach. He was promoted to head coach in the summer of 2023. In his two years as Barry's recruiting coordinator, he helped lead the effort that saw the Bucs sign the top-rated class in NCAA Division II according to Perfect Game . The Bucs made the NCAA tournament in 2023 for just the fourth time in school history and won the South Region 2 title over host West Florida.
