About this episode
This episode was inspired by someone I spoke to at my virtual event, where I went through a visualization exercise to imagine that it was the holidays and the obstacles or food challenges they might face. She shared with me that she would never eat foods she deemed bad or forbidden in front of other people - at a party, out to eat or at a family gathering. She would only eat them in secret. Virtuous eating is the feeling that a person is being immoral, bad, or wrong when they eat certain foods. Do you feel this way? Here’s some takeaways from this episode: Even though we are eating in secret and hiding from others judging us, what we are really doing is judging ourselves. Judgment and shame are the very two things that keep us in the cycle of feeling out of control around food. It's important to know in what ways our behaviors serve us and in what ways they hinder us. If we can look at it with curiosity, then we can decide if we want to change something. Want to know why you struggle with food and what to do next?
