Today on City Cast Portland, we’re revisiting a conversation with WeShine , a neighbor-organized nonprofit that builds and runs micro-villages in our city that have proven effective in moving people into permanent housing. They were recently burglarized during the final phase of construction of their newest village in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood and lost thousands of dollars in equipment. Executive Director Jan McManus and facility coordinator Hunter Burkett take host Claudia Meza on a mico-village tour and share how their model fits in with the city and county’s larger efforts to address homelessness.
