About this episode
When Dan Brophy, a popular teacher at the Oregon Culinary Institute, was found murdered in 2018, it became one of the most astounding true crime stories Oregon had seen in decades. The big twist: his wife, Nancy, was ultimately found guilty of his murder. But Nancy was also a suspense romance novelist, and some of the details of the crime appeared almost forecasted in her fiction. Today we’re talking with Heidi Joy Tretheway, host of the new podcast “ Happily Never After: Dan and Nancy. ” We’ll talk with her about the ways fact and fiction blended together in this unexpected saga.
