In this week’s episode of the Rox Lyfe podcast we get to speak with Steve Moharic (@k9_steve). Steve is a former Australian Special Forces Commando, turned dog trainer and hybrid Athlete. During his early years his sporting background was in running and swimming, before he made the switch to Triathlon. After burning out in his early 20’s, he fell deep into Melbourne’s criminal underworld. That was followed by joining the military in 2009. He was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, and spent over two years as part of Australia’s most elite force, the Tactical Assault Group. Later in 2016 he qualified as a Special Ops attack dog handler. We go over all this in our conversation, and lots more, as well as his experience in HYROX where he won his age group at his debut event in Melbourne, at a bodyweight of 105kg, which qualified him for the upcoming Nice World Championship. I was connected with Steve through Elite HYROX athlete Jon Wynn who was in the special forces at the same time as Steve.
