In today’s episode we get to chat with a truly incredible athlete – James Newbury. James has been to the CrossFit games 4 times, and in 2019 finished an amazing 5th. What’s more, he has competed in multiple Ironman events, amongst many other sports, and it’s recently been announced that he will be taking on a HYROX when it comes to Sydney in August 2023. We get to talk about his training, his sporting history, how he competed in an Ironman just 5 weeks after breaking bones in his back, his perception of HYROX, how he manages and recovers from high volume hybrid training, where he’s at in terms of his strength and running abilities, and lots more. It’s a great chat, with a great guy, who’s a great athlete and who seemingly has the potential to be pretty great at HYROX too.
