In this episode of the Rox Lyfe podcast I'm chatting with James Barber and Rebecca Brett from the Altitude Centre – who, at their facilities in London, help sportspeople obtain the benefits of training at altitude, without needing to go up a mountain to get them. In this chat we talk about the benefits of altitude training, how to obtain those if you can’t train at altitude or at their centre in London, the ways in which you can benefit for HYROX from this type of training, and how it can help when recovering from injury. But it’s not all about altitude - we also get into VO2 max and threshold testing, heat acclimation and lots more. It’s a very interesting, insightful chat that you’ll hopefully take a lot away from. James is the Lead Performance Specialist at The Altitude Centre. He has a Masters in Sport Science, and is a 15 min 5k runner. And Rebecca is a Loughborough University Sport Science student. Her sporting background is in Olympic Weightlifting but she was roped into her first HYROX in april last year and is now, like many of us, a self confessed HYROX addict.
