Quinn Hughes. Quinn Hughes. Quinn Hughes. If you say it three times, does he just arrive like a genie? Try it. The Minnesota Wild have acquired Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks. It's a fact that many hockey fans are still digesting, but it's real, and it's quite amazing when you really break it down. To break it down for you, Alex Stalock joins Wild on 7th in-studio this week, John King lands his whale of a bold prediction, Wild Radio Joe O'Donnell talks botany among other things, and Ryan Carter maintains his swagger among all the chaos. Stalock and O'Donnell were both on the call for Quinn's first game with the Wild, and both provide their unique insight on the historic night. Carter gives an amazing assessment of Billy Guerin's rationale surrounding the trade, and also chimes in with some amazing stories from his days playing juniors. Quinn Hughes. Quinn Hughes. Quinn Hughes. Poof....here's the best pod of the season so far.

Carter joins us from the road, with his early wake up call in Seattle before tonights tilt against the Kraken, and Kinger holds down the studio to break down this long road trip, with one last tilt before the team flys home tomorrow. We had this one holstered for a minute, as we wanted to give the Chicelt's interview a moment to breathe, and then bring you some holiday cheer with this fun interview with a Wild favorite. The guys talk podcasts, they talk about his life after hockey, his magical 5 goal night, and his favorite coach...shocker....it's not a shocker. Grab a beverage and a snack, and sit tight for a great interview with an absolute star....Marian Gaborik.

This week on Wild on 7th, the podfathers sit down with fan-favorite, Jake Middleton, for a wide-open, laugh-heavy conversation that hits everything from the team’s recent on-ice surge to the unexpected chaos happening off it. Jake walks us through the origin story of the “Redwood Hat” that’s suddenly become the must-have item in the locker room and how it's turned into the squad’s unofficial badge of honor. He also talks about settling into his new life in the suburbs—complete with an electric snow blower and one tiny shovel—and gives us a peek into day-to-day neighborly living as a Minnesota Wild defenseman. Door dash, burgers, and Bunny's, and of course, no episode would be complete without a little behind-the-scenes team lore, including how Zuccarello might actually be Napoleon. Cool and collected leadership, all around the room. It’s one of the season’s funniest and most genuine conversations—don’t miss it.

The holiday season has finally arrived, and if you haven't started thawing out your thanksgiving turkey, I'd get on that or you won't be ready for dinner! Carts is a bit punch drunk on this pod, after a long day of travel and getting stuck on the runway in Winnipeg last night, but still delivered the pod in professional fashion. Kinger, knowing that Carter was sleep deprived, and assuming a possibly weakened condition, approached the age old "what's the best holiday?" topic with full confidence. We'll let you decide. The Minnesota Wild are certainly thawed out, and one might argue, HOT! King's whiskers are coming in thick, Fabes is bringing joy, Boldy is bringing leadership, and Kirill continues to bring points, but one familiar face is also back after injury...Nico Sturm. The German joins the pod this week and has a lot to say! Whether it's understanding your role, or what you can learn from playing with and against some of the biggest names in the league, Nico's wisdom is evident. This is a guy that knows how to play the game, because he's studied it, and practiced it, and then executes when it matters. So get those brats boiling, grab a beer, and settle in for an amazing show featuring your newest favorite German. Prost!

Mr.1000, Marcus Johansson drops by the pod this week to talk about his newly acquired comma, following his 1,000th NHL game and ceremony. Carts and King are simply excited to have a new Swede on the show that isn't playing between the pipes. Marcus talks about his up bringing in Sweden, his extensive NHL experience, World championships experiences, and playing with some of the greatest to play this game. JoJo's style sense also came to light, as he showed off his new kicks and talked about this new venture. It is an outstanding feat to play 1000 NHL games, and with the number of points JoJo is putting up in the first month and half of the season, it appears he's making a solid case for the Swedish National team and a potential appearance in Milan. Jojo is on a heater as of late, and we are all for him continuing this pace! Listen up and get inside the head of our stoic swede, Marcus Johansson.
Nov 10
The Minnesota Wild have been searching for their game, but look like they are getting closer to finding it as of late. What changed you ask? It may have to do with the return of a key ingredient in the peanut butter and jelly sandwich recipe. Carts and King breakdown what they've seen over the last week or so, and although some topics may have flashed the feeds already, the guys need to get their takes in. From Jojo's "no goal" goal," to Wallstedt doing his best Optimus Prime impression, and Trenin leading the league in hits for the moment, Wild on 7th's attention span bounces around like a TikTok feed this week. Kinger even bounces around the league with his TikTok teams! The Minnesota Wild are at home through the end of next week, so grab yourself a sandwich and a glass of milk, and listen up for some fresh takes, and a great look back with an awesome interview with Niklas Bäckström.
Nov 3
Following a "relief" of a win against the Vancouver Canucks, the Minnesota Wild will try to maintain composure over the next 4 games in only 6 days. Ryan Carter and John King connect for this weeks show with a little glimmer of a win in their eyes, after a tough stretch for Minnesota sports fans, let alone a struggling Wild team. The guys break it down, talk about the "players only" meeting spearheaded by Jared Spurgeon, and touch on what it's going to take to maintain a winning level of play. First time guest, Vinnie Hinostroza joins the pod for some amazing stories from both his youth, and his experienced NHL career, both oddly enough, right alongside Ryan Hartman for a lot of it. Can you imagine what those two got into at out of town hockey tournaments as kids?
Oct 28
Carts and King aren't letting the darkness creep in, even though the boys might feel like they're in an endless tunnel right now. For a week that didn't produce much to talk about, the hosts sure had a lot to say. But let's be honest, it was a tough week to be a Minnesota sports fan, but this show is going to change all that! Buckle up for a marathon pod, all leading up to an amazing interview with some legendary Minnesota Wild Alumns in Pierre Marc Bouchard, and Brian Rolston. The guys talk about style on and off the ice, how to dangle across the blue line or on the shootout approach, and how sometimes you just need to take a clap bomb from the hashmarks. Bouchard and Rolston talk about their time under Jacques Lemaire, the fond memories of the Xcel Energy Center, and how team meals were often made at home in those days. The Minnesota Wild celebrate their first 25th anniversary game tonight against the Winnipeg Jets, so listen up for a great pre-game pod, and dust off the old sweaters for a blast from the past.
Oct 20
The Minnesota Wild are kicking off the season with their first long road trip, and they head into Madison Square Garden tonight with high hopes. Ryan Carter and John King bring you another installment of your favorite hockey podcast. While King is rocking his new shirt from the Lainey Wilson show the other night, Carts gives flowers to Jesper Wallstedt, the guys discuss Daniel Yurov's recent contributions, and King's love of Dallas. Stick around for some fun with another 25th anniversary trivia segment, and even a college football check-in for the guys to discuss coaching, and PJ Fleck's recent jump for joy.
Oct 13
Minnesota Wild drop their home opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets, but it has been a hot start for Matt Boldy and dolla dolla bill Kirill Kaprizov. Ryan Carter and John King breakdown the first couple games of the season, talk about the home opener, and shut down the nonsense from the critical Minnesota fanbase. If the glass is half full, do as this pod preaches, and break the mold of negative perspectives. The hosts have some fun with another round of 25th anniversary trivia, and an 11-time Stanley Cup Champion, and former Minnesota Wild Head Coach, Jacques Lemaire joins us for a walk down memory lane. We're just getting warmed up, and have a long season ahead, so lace up, foil up, and listen up to one of the 100 greatest hockey players in the history of the NHL.
Oct 6
Wild radio play by play Joe O'Donnell stops by the pod for another season opening edition of BOLD PREDICTIONS. Carts and King keep the banter light, the accusations fresh and the competition fierce as they outline their predictions for what is sure to be an exciting season. Kirill Kaprizov signed his deal, GusBus signed his deal, but now who is buying dinner at Billy's Sushi? Strap in for a long one, because after all the fun and games, a first time guest of the pod, Vladimir Tarasenko stops by for some amazing conversation. Hear what he has to say about life, winning Cups, and what he likes on his chicken, just don't ask him about the science behind kick points. If you make it to the end of this pod, you can do anything!
Sep 29
Buckle up for an EGGcelent show this week. Former Wild goaltender turned "hobby farmer" Alex Stalock stepped out of the chicken coop and into the pod studio for some fun banter about the Ryder Cup, some preseason hockey, and his love of Jelly Roll. Carter and King share some laughs about the trends on the internet, and conclude that sometimes they'd rather not make sense of things. Did you know farm fresh eggs can sit on the counter for weeks and still be good to eat? Don't take nutritional or food safety tips from a hockey podcast...or you may end up with blue egg shell on your face.
Sep 22
Your favorite Minnesota Wild podcast is back for a new season with Ryan Carter and John King! While Huss the producer might still be in preseason form, the true talents are ready for puck drop, but there seems to be one thing on their minds right now. Join Wild on 7th as Carts and King break down their takes on the Kaprizov negotiation, how the first preseason game went in Winnipeg, and what to look forward to before the regular season starts. Wild Assistant General Manager, and Team USA Director of Player Development, Chris Kelleher joins as a first time guest, with some great insight on scouting, and how to effectively disarm a dachshund. It's hockey season again, and Trenny-thing is possible.

From new dress codes to load management, Billy G isn’t holding back with his takes. The Wild may be running it back this year, but his expectations remain sky-high as the young bucks look to make their mark. Stay tuned for our special State Fair show dropping this Friday!
Jul 7
Carts and King swing by the TRIA studio for a marathon summer vibe check in the State of Hockey. The guys talk about their summer plans so far, the never ending trolling feed from the Stanley Cup Champions, the NHL Draft, shaking up free agency, and obviously the vibe check since some major Wild pieces are currently without signed deals. Can King get any sleep when the kids are out for the night? I think he'll feel much better when Rossi and Kaprizov "make it home safely," and he can relax. Hope you can enjoy a wonderful summer pod to hold you over until the Minnesota State Fair. Details to be announced in the coming weeks.
May 6
"It Felt Different." This was a line that we've heard a lot lately, and hopefully you have also felt this different feeling. Bill Guerin joins the pod to help put a bow on the season, and in classic Billy fashion, he did just that. How else might one wrap a HARD season, but with a quick screening of the cinematic genius that is Strange Brew! Billy talks about his feelings while watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs, how this season felt different, how proud he is of the team for continually battling, and how he is going into the biggest summer of his tenure with the Minnesota Wild. Can we crack the mold of Minnesota sports culture, shift expectations, and build a real winning attitude? We are getting there one podcast at a time. Massive thank you to the Wild on 7th fans who’ve rocked with us all year. Stay tuned for updates, and subscribe to all of our channels so you don't miss anything in the off season.
May 2
Ryan Carter and John King are joined by the voice of Wild Radio, Joe O'Donnell to break down game 6. The Minnesota Wild have been beaten by the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the reality is, this season felt different. Not only did the team battle through adversity through the entire season and seemed to maintain, if not excel in areas without huge pieces of their team missing, but they entered the playoffs and carried themselves with a bit more experience than we are used to seeing. Give it a listen, and head into the off season with more experience than you had last year, and get ready, because next fall will be here faster than you think. A season finale will drop next week.
Apr 30
After further review, we'd rather not have any more reviews, but the truth is, we still have a game 6. Ryan Carter hot off the team plane from Vegas, burns into the studio to catch up with John King, and our playoff staple Wild Radio Joe O'Donnell joins us for a quick breakdown of game 5, and then all eyes on game 6. Much like the narrative of the last few podcasts, the guys really lean into the fact that the past is the past, even if we're talking about last night. The series is coming back to the State of Hockey, and Wild Joe Radio has a vision. We might have teased the bingo card for these shows, but this is next level. Listen up, break the mold, and change the narrative. Boldy's dog was not kicked...it's a figure of speech folks, but let's hope he still plays like it was.
Apr 27
No Sunday scaries here on the Game 4 Recap! Ryan Carter and John King are joined by Wild Radio host Joe O'Donnell for a recap of Round 1 Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The guys break down the playoff narratives, talk about having the expectation to win, how the Minnesota fan base doesn't know what that means yet, and how WE ALL NEED TO BREAK THE MOLD. They also lean into the truths that are all right in front of us, that history doesn't matter in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, that Marcus Foligno deletes people, that Trenin is stepping up big, Decausemaker is crushing the anthems, and that we need to be done with the Minnesota sports mentality. These guys are going to prove it.
Apr 25
Xcel Energy Center was absolutely rocking last night, in part kickstarted by Lake City royalty, Minnesota Frost Superstar, and recent World Champion, Taylor Heise with a strong "Let's Play Hockey" call. King and Carts are back in studio at TRIA Rink breaking down game 3 alongside Wild Radio host Joe O'Donnell, and are joined late in the show by Taylor. They all share amazing insight on playoff mentality, goaltending, momentum, belief and more. Lot's of hockey left to be played, and a slightly longer than average pod for your enjoyment, because you deserve it. You deserve to feel this way, to believe, and to head into the weekend with a focus and mindset that will help carry the Wild back to the desert
Apr 23
The Minnesota Wild are heading home with a split of the first two games of round one, with a huge win last night in the desert. King is holding down the studio at TRIA Rink, and Carts and Joe join remotely for a full breakdown of game 2. They talk SAUCE, they talk hits, they talk playoff hockey, bets, and more, and it's all coming back to Saint Paul on Thursday night. Do you have your tickets yet? It's the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and we don't have time for the typical Minnesota sports fan crap. Get in the building, get raucous and let Vegas know that they are really far from home!
Apr 21
No bucket, no problem. Zeev Buium kicks off his NHL career with a classic rookie lap, and we’re off and running into the first round. It’s the postseason, but… it doesn’t quite feel like a playoff series yet — at least not the way it should. This episode we break down Game 1 against the Vegas Golden Knights, how the Wild can flip the momentum, and why this team still has a chance to make noise. Joining the crew this week is Joe O’Donnell — “Radio Joe” himself — who weighs in on some bad officiating and big hits from the NHL Playoff opener.
Apr 18
Join the pod live from the Mall of America, as Carts, King and Radio Joe break down the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. With the Minnesota Wild facing off against the Vegas Golden Knights on Easter Sunday evening, it's gonna be a late one for the midwesterners, so get a nap in, because it's going to be electric!
Apr 14
No dress rehearsal, this is our pod. Our 100th pod. With a nod to our century show, our favorite rink side reporter Kevin Gorg, aka K-Train, drops by the show to sit between your beloved hosts, and much like a pimento cheese sandwich, it's much more enjoyable chilled. However, with the playoff race still in full swing, the guys are a little less chill than usual. Join in for a breakdown of the Masters, and the Wild's last few games, before a big week, and a live pod recording at Mall of America on Thursday April 17th at 5pm at the Rotunda. Thanks to our sponsors Pilot Games, Cub, Wild Construction, Jimmy's Dressings and Dips, Aquarius Home Services, Pep's Drafthaus Pizza, T-Rex Cookies, and Bosch Law. Your Season 3 Finale is a click away, but hold on tight for game by game recaps from the second season.
Apr 7
A story we've heard for many years, a Cinderella story really, Ryan Carter is on his annual trip to Augusta for Masters week, so he joins us remotely as Kinger holds down the studio as the Wild try to hold down their playoff position. With a huge win against Dallas over the weekend, the Wild maintain a positive outlook, going into the last few games of the season. If you happened to give up all forms of media on Sundays during Lent, you kinda missed a few big things yesterday, and this will be a great show to get you back up to speed. One, Alexander Ovechkin is now the Gr8est goal scorer in the history of hockey, and two, Wild on 7th is approaching their 100th episode, and will celebrate with a live recording at Mall of America on April 17th at 5pm. See you there!
Mar 31
Carts connects with Kinger remote from Palm Springs, for a brief breakdown of the Gophers unraveling, the buzz around the NCAA hockey tournament, and how the Wild are battling to maintain playoff position. Wild Goaltending coach Frederic Chabot joins in studio to discuss his career, the impact of Filip Gustavsson and Marc Andre Fleury, his coaching tactics, and his personal best on toastie dogs. Strap on the pads for a great show, as Kinger says, "Hey DJ, play La Bamba!"

Don’t miss this one!
Mar 17
Wild Alum and legendary NHL tough guy, John Scott joins Carts and King this week to talk about his storied career, his ever growing family, his time with the Minnesota Wild, and some other notable moments you might be familiar with. The 2016 NHL All Star MVP talks about being roommates with Derek Boogaard, his aspirations of his story hitting the silver screen, and the future of the enforcer in the NHL game. Some very bright things coming from a guy that made a living throwing knuckles, but hey, he's got a mechanical engineering degree from Michigan Tech. Foil up for this one folks, the days of players like this might return someday, and you'll want him on your side!
Mar 10
Tourney week is over, but the tourney hangover is not! Carts joins us remote from FLA, and King carries the studio on his back as they breakdown an absolutely amazing week of hockey in Saint Paul! The relatively quiet Minnesota Wild have remained as such during their early game on Sunday, for likely the last time Sid and Geno face-off against their old pal Flower, but they head into a busy remainder of March here at Xcel Energy Center! In what feels like a series of back to back games at home, the Wild have their work cut out for them as playoffs are looming. Snap into a slimjim this week as you recover from the high school state tourney, and gear up for a bunch more battles at home here in Saint Paul.
Mar 3
The Tourney is on West 7th this week, and all eyes are on Saint Paul as the boys state high school hockey tournament hits the Xcel Energy Center in what is sure to be an electric atmosphere.
