Back on the podcast, today is the one and only, Vanessa Fraser! Vanessa is a pro runner for Nike and is coached by the legendary Shalane Flanagan. She holds PRs of 4:09 in the 1500m, 14:48 in the 5k, and 31:52 in the 10k. In college, she was one of the most storied runners in Stanford history, where she was a 7xAll-American, and her school record of 15:09 in the 5k still stands. Last year Vanessa began working at Benchmark Venture Capital, where she has thrived in this new environment while still pursuing her dreams on the track. In this conversation, Vanessa takes me through her decision to go into the Venture Capitalist world, her reflections on setbacks, and her goals for running, life, and business this next year.
