In episode fifty-one, Akito’s backstory is explored, and her mother Ren is introduced, along with their tumultuous relationship. Tohru laments over not having been able to help Uo with her relationship with Kureno. In episode fifty-two, Akito dreams of a loving memory involving Shigure. The two of them get in an argument, revealing the twisted situation between the two of them and Ren.
