Thank goodness there was an extra day. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) faced significant backlash over its decision to schedule a reserve day for the Super Fours match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023. Critics argued that the move was inconsistent and unfair to other teams participating in the tournament. The controversy arose when the ACC announced a reserve day for the India-Pakistan match, but not for any of the other Super Four matches. Despite the controversy, the match between India and Pakistan did indeed go into the reserve day due to inclement weather. Meanwhile, India also qualified for the final of Asia Cup 2023 after winning a low-scoring affair in Colombo against Sri Lanka.
