The defendant says he sold the plaintiff a fully sealed packaged chair, so if it was scratched, it was the plaintiff’s fault. The plaintiff says he owns a house and rents rooms to veterans. He says he rented a room to the defendant, a Navy veteran, but it turns out he was kicked out of the service and was late on rent. The plaintiff is suing for what he’s owed in rent and damages.
