The plaintiff says she bought a puppy from the defendant, but the vet told her the puppy had a defect and never should have been sold. She’s suing for the cost of the dog and vet bills. The defendant says the dog had a common problem with the breed, which gets corrected upon neutering. She claims the plaintiff had the dog for a year, so she’s not issuing a refund. Then, the plaintiff says she rented an apartment from the defendant, but it had several problems that were never fixed. She finally had to move out, and she’s now suing for what she says she’s owed. The defendant says he sent the plaintiff a partial refund with damages deducted. He claims the plaintiff was a bad tenant who paid the rent late. Plus, the plaintiff says he brought his 1997 truck to the defendant’s shop for an oil change. He claims oil began leaking and two cylinders blew on his way home. He blames the defendant, so he’s suing her for all the money he’s now out. The defendant says she changed the oil, and the plaintiff called her a week later to complain.
