He claims the plaintiff only started complaining about the damage when the defendant asked about the money owed. The plaintiffs are a husband, wife, and their daughter. The parents say their daughter rented the defendant’s home for four years while she was in college. The father says he installed new lights in the house, but now the defendant is withholding the security deposit. They’re suing for their money back. The defendant argues the plaintiffs removed the lights when the daughter moved out, even though the defendant says he owns the lights because they were installed on his property.
