The plaintiff claims the defendant stole her three loving dogs and won’t give them back. She’s heartbroken and is suing the defendant for the value of her kidnapped dogs. The defendant insists she took in the dogs out of the goodness of her heart because the plaintiff lost her home, so they’re her dogs now. Then, the plaintiff says she rented a basement apartment from the defendant. As soon as she moved in, her belongings were stolen. Police officers investigated the alleged crime but said there were no signs of forced entry. She knows the defendant, her landlord, stole her stuff, and she’s suing her for the value of the stolen belongings. The defendant argues the plaintiff had all sorts of visitors, and it could have been any one of them. She denies ever stealing any belongings and owes this woman nothing. The defendant is countersuing for rent owed. Plus, the plaintiff says she stored a car at the defendant’s place of business, and when she tried to retrieve it, the car was gone. It turns out her car was stolen while in the defendant’s care, so she’s suing the defendant for the vehicle’s worth.
