About this episode
On today's episode, Devan sits down with Kellie Sprouse, Trainer at Burn Springdale and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Being a stay-at-home mom (SAHM) is one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs a woman can have. It involves juggling multiple tasks, managing a household, and raising kids. But what happens when you throw in the mix an adoption, four children, and the physical and mental weight of it all? For this real mom, it meant losing herself and putting herself on the back burner along the way. But like many mothers, Kellie refused to stay lost. She made a conscious decision to rediscover herself, to find joy in the little things, and to prioritize her physical and mental health. She took the courageous steps into Burn Boot Camp in November 2020 for the first time. She was overweight, feeling down on herself, and insecure about her place in the gym. She gladly found a spot in the very back row for her first camp. In this episode, we'll explore how she navigated the challenges of SAHM life, four kids, adoption, and the struggle with physical and mental health to rediscover herself. One of the first steps Kellie took was to acknowledge her feelings and the reality of her situation. She realized that it was okay to feel overwhelmed and that seeking help was not a sign of weakness. So, she sought support from family, friends, and professionals to help her manage her stress and anxiety. She also made self-care a priority, which meant taking time for herself to exercise, eat well, and engage in activities that brought her joy. Her obsession with Burn has had an incredible ripple effect on her family as well - she and her husband now enjoy working out together, her 9-year-old daughter wants to be a Burn trainer when she grows up, and Kellie has made an incredible impact on multiple Arkansas communities. In addition, she found purpose in giving back to her community. She volunteered her time and skills to help other moms and families in need, which not only gave her a sense of fulfillment but also allowed her to connect with others who understood her struggles. Through these steps, Kellie was able to rediscover herself and find meaning in her life beyond motherhood. She learned that it's okay to prioritize her needs and that self-care is not selfish but essential. She also discovered that being a mom doesn't mean losing your identity but rather integrating it into your role as a parent. She knew that she had an incredible opportunity to make a difference and a lasting impact as a trainer hitting the mic. In conclusion, being a stay-at-home mom, adopting four children, and struggling with physical and mental health can be overwhelming. But as this real mom's story shows, it's possible to rediscover yourself and find joy in the process. By prioritizing self-care, seeking support, and finding purpose beyond motherhood, moms can thrive in all areas of their lives! _________________________ ★ Calling All Mamas ★ Looking to amp up your workout routine?
