92. Exposing Fitness Industry BS: The Truth Behind "Snatched Waists" and Clever Marketing

Let's chat about the current most popular fitness trends I am seeing all over Instagram! I can't get on social media for any amount of time without seeing something claiming to get rid of the "mom pooch" or "snatch your waist" or release trauma in my body. And as you can imagine.... it drives me crazy. These posts and videos are most commonly created to gain views or mislead you into believing you need what they are selling ... NOT to actually help you. The marketing can be tricky! They target our deepest insecurities and use key words to grab our attention. We are so easily persuaded by the visual that we fail to think through whether that person is qualified to make such claims and whether we need what they are selling. Knowledge is power in the fitness game, the more you know the less you will be distracted by the shiny objects or tempted to try yet another program that is just a sleazy marketing tactic.
