After seeing a video of two women (who run a podcast) making fun of aspiring creators for posting online, I decided it was time for me to talk about the topic myself. I started this podcast with nothing. I just quit my job, I didn’t have a huge online presence, and I had no idea how or if Trying Not to Care would work. I looked at other podcasters who already had a huge following and loyal listeners. In doing that, I almost allowed the comparison of my show to theirs, to stop me from pursuing my spot in the podcast community. In today’s episode, I talk about not allowing what others are doing/thinking to steer you away from doing what you want, why it’s not embarrassing to put yourself out there and how to fake it until you make it.
