Maria was drafted in 2019 to the Chicago Red Stars but ended up transferring to Liga MX Femenil for the 2020-2021 season. She tried to return to the NWSL in 2021 but only did so on a short loan with Houston Dash. Maria discusses her time in Mexico, her World Cup 2023 hopes and what she looks to bring to the NWSL.
