His tribe jeered and threw bits of wood over, but the boy was curious about those other people. He wished to be in a circle with them, exchanging ceremonies and stories, but they kept their distance, and he wasn’t sure enough of himself to go in there, away from his people. Years later he had this chance, and found himself in a circle with people from that culture, and many of his own.
