The 2024 Stanley Cup Final matchup is set as both the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers punched their tickets to the big dance with victories on home ice this weekend. Jason and Frank started the podcast with a quick conversation about how these two teams stack up against each other. On the other side of the big wins of course are two gut-punch losses for the New York Rangers and Dallas Stars. The Rangers core seems pretty set and they should run it back, but GM Chris Drury has some tough calls to make when it comes to extending a few young players. On the other side, the Dallas Stars have a few older players, like Joe Pavelski and Matt Duchene, who they need to make decisions on. The guys debated that. From there, they circled back to the Panthers and talked about what makes them successful. Are they similar to Dallas? Or do they present different challenges to the Oilers? Tyler also swung by for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about when the NHL season starts, touching the Conference Finals trophies, and which team the guys are watching the closest heading into the summer. Tyler is keeping an eye on the Blackhawks while both Jason and Frank had different answers.
