A wild weekend of hockey in the NHL gave Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli a lot to chew on today’s on the DFO Rundown. To kick things off, they started by talking about Nathan MacKinnon’s heater. He’s been lights out this season but has really hit another level over the last ten days. He’s looking like a player that will be a Hart Trophy finalist this season and that led to some debate about who else is putting together a strong MVP case at the one-third mark of the season. Frank then provided an update on the Juuso Valimaki situation, which caught the eye of the NHLPA over the weekend. The guys also talked about how the league needs to find a solution to their E-Bug problem. In their first meeting since Kyle Dubas left the organization over the summer, the Toronto Maple Leafs thumped the Pittsburgh Penguins. Things are looking dire in Pittsburgh and that led Jason and Frank to talk about whether or not Dubas needs to consider selling off this season and resetting their roster, which could lead to some really tough decisions. Tyler swung by for a new edition of Buy or Sell, where he talked to the guys about the goalie market, the Winnipeg Jets plans for the future, and the odds that one of the Devils or Hurricanes miss the playoffs.
