About this episode
Send us a text Today I had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Masters WR holder - John Cocks. John is such a humble and unassuming man, who before discovering Masters Swimming in his late 60's, represented Australia for the Wallabies in Rugby Union and pioneered laparoscopic abdominal surgery in Australia. He parlayed that determination and drive into Masters Swimming and has never looked back. We chat about his training; the way he approaches his races and his mindset in some of those WR individual medley swims. What is even more astonishing, is that John learnt how to swim butterfly in his 70's! A feat some swimmers half his age have trouble with. John loves the comradeship and friendship he finds in masters swimming and we can all learn from his pearls of wisdom and they way he approaches life, and swimming!
