On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at approximately 1:25 a.m. EDT, Champlain Towers South, a 12-story beachfront condominium in the Miami suburb of Surfside, Florida, United States, partially collapsed. As of July 22, 2021, a total of 98 people are confirmed dead, all of whom have been identified. Chiam Naiditch traveled to Florida to aid in the efforts. Chiam Naiditch a founding member of CCL Shul Members, and a Certified Firearms instructor. Chiam has a strong passion for training and holds 7 Flight Instructor Certificates. In his former career as a Commercial Airline Pilot, Chiam's experience as a Chief Flight Instructor, Chief Pilot and Member of the FAA Safety Team helped shape his commitment to safety, training, and education. Chiam is an Illinois State Police Concealed Carry Firearms Instructor, has the State Original Firearms Training License and the Unarmed Security Guard Certification. He is also an NRA Certified Pistol and Rifle Instructor as well and Chief Range Safety Officer and Range Safety Officer, a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) member, and a graduate of the Skokie Citizens Police Academy. Chiam has adopted the aviation motto of continuous learning and incorporates this into his shooting and instructing skills.
