I lean in to kiss her cheek, As she settles into her bed. My daughter’s eyes are heavy, Yet still glisten with life. My lips touch her warm skin, And as I pull away, I whisper… I love you, just as you are. She smiles tenderly and pulls me into her. And the words continue to emerge. You are whole and perfect just as you are. You don’t have to do anything, Or be anything other than you. And just because you’re you… I love you. She melts, The way you do when your soul is open and aligned, And I wish this moment, This feeling, Will embed itself in the fabric of her life.
