About this episode
Every once in awhile I come across a yoga teacher who just exemplifies yogic wisdom and embodies the practice. Indu Arora is one such teacher. She was introduced to yoga at the age of 4 in India and has made it her life's practice since. Today, she's authored yoga books, is a teacher that other yoga teachers go to and brings her wisdom to yoga & Ayurveda through many of her offerings. We met in the Minneapolis Yoga conference a few years ago and I was instantly drawn to the 'only other Indian yoga teacher' on schedule. I just happened to attend her yoga nidra session. That's what we talk about today. All things yoga nidra. Here are some of the episode highlights... Indu's origin story What is yoga nidra? Is it different from shavasana? Who is it for? Can children do yoga nidra? What are the benefits of yoga nidra? The origins of the practice What is the definition of rest? What is sankalpa and how to choose one? How often to practice it? What is the best time of the day? How to access the practice today? What are some credible sources? Indu's new book Honestly, I wish I had another hour to interview her about Yoga Nidra! There's so much wisdom she packs into this. I've also linked to a free resource in the show notes for this episode where you can try yoga Nidra for free.
