When a young woman is made to go out in a blizzard to find strawberries, she instead finds a cottage where three mysterious little elves live. After showing them great kindness, the elves decide to give her three gifts: to grow happier every day, to have gold pieces fall from her pockets whenever she speaks, and to have the king as her husband.
