She Was In Chronic Pain, Then She Tried The Carnivore Diet | Dr. Shawn Baker & Betty Pezzimenti

Betty has been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, which have impacted her whole life with joint dislocations starting at the age of 7. Despite multiple surgeries and years spent in a wheelchair, she has had multiple anaphylactic episodes. In 2021, she found herself bedridden and facing PAO surgery to fix her hip dysplasia when she decided to try the carnivore diet. Within two weeks, she was walking and off medication, and she canceled future procedures. Now, a year and a half later, she is pregnant and attributes her success to the diet. Before this, she was running a vegan catering business and had been eating plant-based while dealing with her chronic health issues. She has always been passionate about nutrition and studied it at university but realized how politicized and tunnel-visioned the teachings and policies can be.
