About this episode
Emily Geller Hardman , a New York Opera singer, gave the performance of a lifetime with her unassisted VBAC in the back of the car as her husband sped down the highway en route to the Connecticut birth center from Pennsylvania. At 37 weeks, she went into labor unexpectedly while at a wedding three hours from home. In the middle of the night, she knew she was in labor, and it was time to hit the road. After having had a Cesarean for her breech baby the first time around, she was well-prepared for a VBAC this time, and determined to do whatever it took to have her second baby unmedicated and vaginally. Little did she know, she would do it entirely on her own with the cool, calm, collected grace of only one who's spent their life performing under pressure with ease, sound, and breath work.
