He began his career as a newspaper business reporter and editor, and has worked for The Baltimore Sun , The Charlotte Observer , The Chicago Sun Times , The Hartford Business Journal , and The Louisville Courier Journal . He later founded the insure.com consumer website and also worked as a communications executive for a large insurance company.
