POSTCAST: Phillie complete the SWEEP with 3-2 win over Rays!

A night after Nick Castellanos was plunked for no reason, Casty got his revenge! The Phillies’ right fielder blasted a 2-run homer to left field in the 1st inning to grab an early 2-0 lead! That coupled with a clutch infield RBI single by Weston Wilson and 6 tough innings from Zack Wheeler propelled the Phillies to a 3-2 win over the Rays to complete the sweep in South Philly! Zack Wheeler threw 103 pitches over his 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 9. The game was definitely a battle for Wheeler, but he powered through to help the Phils to a win. Wheeler was close to missing out on his 15th win of the season, when he allowed a game tying solo homer to Jonathon Aranda in the top of the 6th. Fortunately for Wheeler’s record and the rest of the squad, the Phillies bats would get some 2-out Lightning in the bottom of the 6th. Trea Turner led off the 6th by grounding out to 3rd, then the Rays pulled their starter, Shane Baz for Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen got Bryce Harper to ground out to first and that’s when the magic started. Nick Castellanos worked a 2-out walk, followed by a Brandon Marsh bouncer to right field for a single that put runners on the corners. Weston Wilson came to the plate and hit a swinging bunt up the 3rd baseline that Rasmussen couldn’t barehand, allowing Castellanos to score the go ahead run.
