POSTCAST: Phillies fall HARD to Mets, 11-3 - Nola gets rocked!

The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the New York Mets, 11-3 as the division rivals began a three-game series in south Philly Friday night. Aaron Nola started for the Phils and gave up 6 runs on two 3-run homers both surrendered in the 5th inning. With the loss, Nola drops to 12-8 on the season. The were some early signs that this start wasn’t going to be an easy one for Nola. He started out the game needing 43 pitches to get through the first two innings, then seemed to settle in. He didn’t give up a hit through the 4th inning, but then the Wheels came off in the 5th. Francisco Alvarez hit the first three-run homer off the inning, then Brandon Nimmo followed four batters later and smashed the second. It was the first time in Nola’s 10 year career that he allowed two 3-run homers in a game. As for the Phillies’ bats, they were kept off balance by Met’s lefty Jose Quintana. He tossed 7 scoreless innings against the Phils and surrenders jut 3 hits. The only offense the Phils had came in the bottom the 9th inning when Brandon Marsh hit a 3-run homer.
