The Red Sox dropped their 4th in a row with a 8-5 setback in the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards Monday afternoon. The Orioles scored 4 runs in the 1st Inning off losing pitcher Sean Newcomb and 4 runs in the 8th Inning against reliever Justin Slaten. The Red Sox were out hit, 15-8, by the Orioles. ----- Devers Update: Rafael Devers went 0-for-3 with a pair walks and 3 more strikeouts on Monday. Devers is 0-for-19 with 15 strikeouts over the 1st 5 Games. ----- Local Kid on the Bump: Sean Newcomb, who was born in Brockton, MA, gave up 4 straight singles to the 1st four Baltimore hitters and ended up allowing 4 runs in the 1st Inning in his Red Sox debut. Newcomb went 4.0 Innings and got 3 Inning Ending Double-Plays over his final 3 Innings. ----- Struggling with RISP: The Red Sox went 3-for-14 with Runners in Scoring Position and left 7 runners on base in the series opener.
