RED SOX POSTCAST- Sox Drop 1st Game of Trip to Red-Hot Royals

The Red Sox opened up their 6-Game Road Trip with a 2-1, 12-Inning loss to the Kansas City Royals Friday night at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Both teams got on the board in the 11th Inning. The Red Sox went down 1-2-3 in the Top of the 12th and the Royals ended it with Freddy Fermin walking it off with an RBI Single off Sean Newcomb. ----- Lot's To Like- Hunter Dobbins was impressive in his start against the Royals in the series opener Friday night. Dobbins worked 6 scoreless innings and ended up with a no-decision with neither team scoring over the 1st 6 Innings. Dobbins allowed 5 Hits, walked no one, and struck out 6. Kyle Isbel reached with a 1-out Triple in the 5th Inning, but Dobbins wiggled out of trouble as Isbel was cut down at the plate in what turned into a 6-2-5-4 Double Play. Dobbins quality outing ended a streak of 5 straight games where the starting pitcher did not go a full 6 Innings. ----- #'s of the NIGHT: Trevor Story went 0-for-5 with a strikeout in Friday night's opener.
