The Detroit Tigers offense came to life in extra-innings scoring 6 runs led by Trey Sweeney’s 3-run home run. Matt Vierling added an RBI double before Riley Greene smashed a two-run home run to cap the scoring and give the Detroit Tigers a 7-1 lead. Detroit Tigers trailed 1-0 heading to the bottom of the 9th before Spencer Torkelson was hit by a pitch. Zach McKinstry came on as a pinch runner and stole second base and eventually came home on a wild pitch. Tarik Skubal started the game and tossed 7 scoreless while striking out 10. Detroit Tigers move to 57-34 and return home for a six-game homestand before the all-star break.
